21.01.2022 A School-based traineeship (SBT) involves a student getting paid to learn in a real job, whilst undertaking a nationally recognised qualification that forms part of their secondary education and counts towards their WACE. Tubal are experts in the facilitation of SBT's in a range of industries, and we believe they are one of the most effective ways to kick-start a career! There are also generous new incentives available for employers who hire SBT's in Western Australia, and n...o training fees or charges at all. Enrolments are accepted all year round for year 10 and 11 students.

12.01.2022 The Australian Resuscitation Council has reviewed its guideline in relation to the management of bleeding and now recommends the following: 1. Firm pressure on or around the wound is the most effective way to stop bleeding. 2. In life-threatening bleeding, control of bleeding takes priority over airway and breathing interventions. 3. Use an arterial tourniquet for life-threatening limb bleeding that is not controlled by direct wound pressure.... The revised guideline also advises that there is no evidence that elevating a bleeding part will help control bleeding and there is the potential to cause more pain or injury. The guideline also recommends the use of haemostatic dressings to control bleeding (if arterial tourniquets are unsuccessful or unsuitable to control bleeding) if these dressings are available and the first aider has been trained in their use. These students are employed by Aegis facilities, meaning that they are learning on-the-job whilst in paid employment positions.

04.01.2022 The manufacturer of EpiPens has advised of changes to the way EpiPen and EpiPen Jr should be administered. These changes cover reduced injection time from 10 to 3 seconds and the removal of the massage step after the injection. EpiPens with a 10 second label can continue to be used and should not be replaced unless they have been used, are just about to expire or have expired. ... All EpiPens should now be held in place for 3 seconds, regardless of the instructions on the label. However, if they are held for 10 seconds it will not affect the way that the adrenaline works.
