22.01.2022 This message has come from our Group A&E Officer: "Saturday 25 March is the day we switch off our power for an hour to celebrate EARTH HOUR. We may all be in isolation because of the C virus but members could join in this action in their own homes. Just a thought!"

20.01.2022 Presenting Mrs Josie Doyle, Life Member of CWA of NSW after being a member for 56 years. Josie was nominated by Tuggerah Lakes Branch earlier this year which was accepted by State Administration Office. Pictured with Josie are Margaret Heathcote Branch President and Ruth Shanks AM World President Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW). It was a great day at the AGM and a great day for Josie. She had no idea this was about to happen. Very shocked but very deserving. Congratulations Josie!

18.01.2022 Attended the Group Council meeting at the Gosford Showgrounds. Our Cultural Officer won a trophy for her report on culture. This is what happens when you keep visiting art galleries. What shall we do for our next cultural excursion. There is a photograph of me presenting my Group Planning Committee report but by the looks of Dawn Wall from Mannering Park Branch it wasn't very interesting. I think she's asleep! Other photos are of your president receiving her badge from Judy Houghton CWA of NSW State Vice President for Group Vice President. The other photograph is of all the newly elected Group Vice President's.

16.01.2022 This year the Central Coast International Womens Day Expo was held at Westfield Tuggerah 7 March. CWA of NSW Northumberland Group was represented on the day with many Branches taking part. Great day as usual. I managed to buy a red suede bag to go with my red suede ankle boots!

Some of the photos show the room and setting and the others deoict the candle sceremony which is performed at each of these dinners. You will see Rasheeda and Bev representing CWA and Tuggerah Lakes Art Society - aso a CWA member. I must say the food was very good especially the creme brulee so all in all a great evening. Congratulations Zonta especially Sue Johson. Well done girls!

12.01.2022 Our very talented craft team lead by our Branch Handicraft Officer Frances C, made these cute knitted chooks. These craft items were made with wool or yarn Frances obtained from the "Sewing Basket" at Kincumber. The Sewing Basket supplies a wide range of donated fabrics and patterns, patchwork, embroidery materials, knitting & crochet yarn, habadashery, and more, while providing employment opportunities for people with a disability.

12.01.2022 Finally we are back in the hall 13 June. We have developed a Covid 19 Safety Plan, posters to be displayed around the hall and purchased mountains of hand sanitiser. It was a busy day sorting things out but we also had visitors from Tuggerah Lakes Art Society. Here's a link to a Youtube short by Mal. Thanks Mal. Check it out. https://youtu.be/ZGz_oksgcpg... We also had Hilda taking photos for Central Coast Council's Positive Aging Strategy. Busy. busy. busy. See more

10.01.2022 Finally our Community Garden is up and running. We've had some complications with Council but things are falling into place. It looks a bit stark at the moment but it is a work in progress. Thank you to the Federal Government and Emma McBride for their contribution of a grant as part of the Stronger Communities Programme. I would also like to thank the Elderslee Foundation for their contribution and Greg and his wife from Paradise Cabin Park who paid for half of the fence.... I'd also like to thank Brett from Mow n Grow for his contribution to the project. I'd better not forget our members for their contribution also. Well done everyone! The grant covered the raised beds, soil and plants, the fruit trees, the fence, the compost bin and the worm farm. We will be holding classes soon on composting and worm farming. Once we have produce we will run cooking classes. See more

09.01.2022 I never want to look at another cake again! Carnevale once again The Art House Wyong. We had cakes galore and jams and pickles and oils and vinegars and some Christmas stuff. Had a great day. Sold heaps and our artist member Denise Ferrie also won a prize for her painting of a lotus. We had a lady come to the stall and she was telling her friend that "You know you can rely on the CWA. You know it will be good?" A great reputation to have.

04.01.2022 Great time at the hall Saturday morning. Long Jetty Produce Swap is up and running again. We set up on the lawn at the front of the hall because it was a lovely day and because it saved us having to wash everything down in the hall. Some great produce. Keep up the great work. Great interest in our Community Garden.

01.01.2022 Our very busy craft team lead by Frances C, in between doing local fund raising stalls; have been liaising with the Little Souls Early Learning Centre at Long Jetty, to make dolls clothes for the centre’s Starbright Room. Our local branch members worked very hard sewing and knitting hats, jumpers, scarves, booties and pants. The clothes were presented to the children at the centre recently, along with a woollen toy sheep to showcase the farm to product concept. The children... were given pieces of wool for a sensory touching experince and Pat C explained the process of turning the wool from the sheeps back into yarn. Whilst Frances C took out a giant pair of knitting needles in front of the excited children who watched with amazement, and proceeded to demonstrate the skill of knitting to the children, and how the wool from a ball of yarn was transformed into clothes. The children were absolutely enthralled by the concept, and eagerly dressed the dolls in their new clothes. The children thanked Frances & Pat with cards, flowers and a lovely morning tea to express their gratitude for all the Tuggerah Lakes CWA had done for them.
