25.01.2022 Our first Feel Good Friday (FGF) post is Southern Beaches Community Garden which is located in Tugun and is a wonderful community organisation that welcomes members of all ages to share in their love of gardening. SBCG obtained a trailer through one of our Community Sponsorship Programs, to help transport green waste and tools and equipment. 23.01.2022 Although COVID 19 has put a stop to some activities in our community, one project that we have been working diligently behind the scenes is our focus on supporting youth. We have continued discussions with local community members, surveyed young adults as well as worked closely with key stakeholders on developing the Virtual Youth Hub, which stemmed from our Youth Forum in 2018. We are pleased to announce that we are now at the next exciting step of collaborating with over 20 dedicated and passionate locals to help us turn the concept into reality. 22.01.2022 It's Feel Good Friday and today we are highlighting a local community club, Palm Beach Surf Life Saving Club. Our sponsorship enabled the club to provide Fruit Break for the Nippers to ensure a healthy snack during training. We also provided funding to purchase a BBQ to assist with their fundraising efforts with yummy sausage sizzles. 21.01.2022 Virtual Youth Hub Update There were some interesting results from the 777 survey responses we received from the Virtual Youth Hub survey. 88% of the responses were of the age bracket of 12 to 25. 70% of the responses said they would use a Virtual Hub. 56% said they do not know how to access youth services. The top 4 areas of need were Recreational activities, Careers Guidance, Educational Guidance and Financial Guidance. The Virtual Youth Hub will help increase the connection of youth with available services and programs in the local community.

11.01.2022 The Board Observor Program offers the opportunity for senior school students to see first hand how a local business is run, and that is what Year 10 PBC SHS students, Xalia and Isabella have had the privilege to do this year. The students have attended the non confidential part of the monthly board meetings either in person or via video conferencing due to COVID 19, where they could ask questions about the business as well as joining the Virtual Youth Hub committee to help create a digital platform for youth to access information on programs and services. 08.01.2022 Virtual Youth Hub Update A big thank you to over 25 local community members who have volunteered to assist with the development of the Virtual Youth Hub. We have a wide range of representatives from community organisations as well as students and community leaders. We are also very grateful to Division 13 Cr. Daphne McDonald and Division 14 Cr. Gail O'Neill for their support. The committee is focusing on 3 key areas including Design & Development, Marketing & Promotion and Governance & Finance. We also have the Youth Hub Elders who will support the committees in a mentoring role.
