David was contracted till 2021 , but we believe that stability needed was important. Whilst we are in tough times with COVID-19 ,and the affect it has on our season , David has shown stability and leadership throughout it all. He has lead our senior players and shown the culture he built has payed o...ff ,with our senior group helping the club in many ways through Covid -19. David has the full backing from his playing group and the committee and its members. Dave has also helped with the under 12s and is one of the rare senior coaches that helps out the committee and with the juniors as well as finding sponsors. An all round coach and a Tullamarine man at heart. Looking forward to a huge 2021 and I thank you all for the support so far. Well done David and we are all behind you. Dean was AFL listed at Richmond taken at pick 52 in 2004. After a 2 year stint at the elite level Dean played VFL for a few years. At local level Dean has been a goal kicking machine winning multiple league goal kicking awards as well as team of the year honours & has topped the 100 goal mark several times. With the restrictions tightening again , we will be forced to keep the Tullamarine facilities closed to avoid our keys being taken of us and a 10k fine. It has been tough times , but myself and the committee are working with the councils and the EDFL every week. I will keep you updated. -... All Club Presidents & Secretaries, It was decided at tonights Board meeting to defer the decision on conducting a 2020 EDFL season until the Board meets again this Thursday evening, June 25th. This in line with the Boards commitment to make a final decision in the week beginning June 22nd. The Board is seeking further confirmation regarding the Return To Play Protocols and the effect of the COVID-19 clusters within three of the Leagues participating LGAs (Hume, Brimbank and Moreland). The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the coaching staff on advising the appropriate recommendations and requirements in providing a professional player management portfolio which will include: Player Fitness and Availability Injury Prevention and Injury Management Taping and Sports Massage Duties Hydration Advice and Recommendations The following qualifications are preferable: Sports Medicine Australia (SMA) Level 1 Sports Trainer Certificate Level 2 First Aid Certificate (Including Current CPR) Working with Childrens check This role will entail up to 2 nights per week during preseason, with two nights per week plus Saturday match day during in-season. As the Senior Trainer, you will be responsible for the overall management of the trainers structure for the U/19s, Reserves and Seniors Teams during match days. Cookie played 400 + games over a 23 year stretch at the Westmeadows FC and was indicated as a life member in 2018 Post playing days has seen the transition into coaching over the last couple of years in the under 18 girls program at Westmeadows. ... 11.01.2022 **UPDATE** Our clubrooms are officially OPEN!!!! It has been a long time since we have been able to have a drink and some food in our rooms but we are finally back open. Please keep in mind the covid protocols put in place. You must register manually to enter or via the QR code at the entrance. Please do not move the seats as we have a 40 occupant limit and they are spaced out to covid satisfactory. Please NOTE- If you break any of the Covid rules , you will be asked to leave... the rooms. Please respect the committee and volunteers that have to manage this situation and respect the work behind the scenes that have made this all possible. We can also have 70 people outside seated (in due course). 11.01.2022 To All our members , players and supporters - The EDFL has tonight called the senior mens and womens season off due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Junior season is still to go ahead following the AFL protocols. As a club , we are disappointed for the players and coaches that have worked hard over the pre season , and for the loyal supporters and members it is shattering. But with every disaster there is a light and opportunity , the opportunity is for us all to continue t...o work together to put a solid plan together for the 2021 season. Also a very good opportunity to get around our juniors and help them have something to look forward to this year. I am also pleased to say that our club is in a solid position during this uncertain time , and myself and the committee are continuing to drive sponsorship and plan for a very successful 2021. David Connell as our senior coach will continue to be in touch with the playing group and prepare for a possible hybrid round robin competition later this year. To our womens senior team , you have been awesome and it is a shame we cant put our hard work on the park this season. I need you all to be prepared for 2021 and we will start planning this year for next season. 09.01.2022 Hello to all our Junior Parents and members During the first lockdown, we as a club had worked very closely with the local Council and some strong businesses to protect our club and work towards training again with the intention of playing a shortened season in 2020. With this second wave of COVID-19 and the strict lockdowns in certain suburbs , we have now seen more than half the junior clubs in the competition pull out completely for the 2020 season. ... Our stance was to do all in our power to try and play in 2020 , but this second lockdown has taken that opportunity away from us. SO I am saddened to say , the Tullamarine Football club will not play any football in 2020 and we join most other clubs that have done the same. On a very positive note, once the government has reduced the lockdown at the end of July , we will hold development sessions, interclub games and training programs for the kids at our club. This will prepare us for a very powerful junior squad for 2021. Tullamarine has a duty of care to uphold and we are complying with all the council and government regulations to keep our kids, parents, coaches and supporters safe in this uncertain and un easy time. We thank you all for your patience in this time and also appreciate the support and understanding you have all shown. We are all new to this situation and continue to learn and grow from it. For memberships we will roll them over in to 2021 which will hold you the 2020 rates. For anyone experiencing financial hardship please contact [email protected] to organise a refund. Even though there is no football , we are still working behind the scenes to keep our club in good order and prepare for 2021 , but also work with the cricket club to get their season up and running and also give you all a place to come again have a meal drink and watch some good cricket. Our new website is nearly completed thanks to the Miriam OConnor and Clinton OConnor , I have seen the draft and it loo...ks so good. David Connell has also been working on players and structures for 2021. There will be a few announcements in the coming days for you all to be updated on. Juniors is a huge project for us. If anyone wants to jump on board to help , please let me know. We are going to put all our efforts into this. Our womens team are itching to get on the park , and I am excited to see them in 2021. But I have to make a few of them cry and throw up at pre season before that could happen. Sponsors are a big one for us. With Covid 19 affecting the country and our club and game , it has made it hard to gets commitment. We will start working on this now and need all the support we can.
