25.01.2022 Winter has finally ended! I think anyone would agree that was a long, cold slog! Now that Spring has finally arrived, its time to Spring clean! 24.01.2022 We just had the great pleasure of informing a vendor that we achieved $3400 at auction for his Tessa lounge suite he didnt expect to get much for. He was totally blown away and THAT is your daily feel good story from Tullochs!

16.01.2022 SAM'S WORD OF THE WEEK: GUILLOCHÉ Following on from last week's word, cloisonné, this week we look at guilloché. Guilloché is a decorative technique, also known as engine turning. Originating in the middle ages, guilloché has been used with or without enamel. A machine is used to create detailed and intricate patterns by engraving the underlying surface material, such as wood, ivory, or metal. In more recent times, guilloché has synonymous with beautiful watch faces. In the case of enamel, the enamel is applied overtop of the guilloché surface, creating a beautiful colour variance on the engraved surface, which reflects light like a faceted jewel.

16.01.2022 Just in! Original document for sale of the "Mill House," Richmond on Vellum dating to 1835. This document is the original and maintains some discolouration on the right hand edge. The document is presented under archival glass in a vintage Oak frame. The Mill House represents a very valuable piece of Tasmanian history and is world renowned, most recently hosting the Duchess of Cornwall on her 2012 Tasmanian Tour. The house was originally built as a steam-powered flour mill by George Gunning Burn. Later, butter was made there, then the building became derelict until it was saved and then restored by a series of families.
