25.01.2022 Updated Brochure and Map - November 2020

25.01.2022 Well 2020 is done and dusted! Happy New Year to all our supporters and helpers. The best thing to happen in 2020, in our humble opinion, was the opening of our pilot NSW Rail Trail back in April 2020 after almost 2 decades of work behind the scenes by committed, hard working volunteers. Since then it has been extremely popular, despite the pandemic, or maybe because of it?? The December figures show continuing increases in the number of people using it. For those interest...ed the numbers on the counters as collected at the end of the month: Tumbarumba: 13880 an increase of 1875 on previous month and Rosewood 13290 an increase of 1460 on previous month Please continue to share your thoughts, photos and feedback with us either by leaving us a review on Facebook or Google. And tell your friends about us! We have more updates happening along the trail in the next few months and work continues by SVC to fix problem areas. Hope to see you out on the trail sometime!

25.01.2022 Thursday 29/10 The Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail has now re-opened. Clean up works were carried out this week and after a full condition assessment the tr...ail is again open for use. The trail was closed on Saturday 24 October due to flooding. Thanks for your cooperation during the closure. Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail

23.01.2022 Build it and they will come. And in all weather! It seems little can deter cyclists who want to be among the early adopters to try out the Tumbarumba to Rosewoo...d Rail Trail. These folks from down Albury way were dead keen and kept smiles on their faces the whole way. Unfortunately an untimely mechanical breakdown meant they had to call it a day before making it to Rosewood but we loaded them up got them into a warm bus a brought them home. There are a number of intermediate points along the trail if you are forced to stop or if you only want to do a partial ride with kids - or people with less puff - and we'll do our best to accommodate you. No matter what the weather. ps the two lads in the group came out again the next day and completed the full ride Just $15 per cyclist or $12 per walker one way along the trail. Call 0406 376605 to book your shuttle or add other options to your itinerary.

23.01.2022 How great if we could have our rail trail photo, the overpass shot, as the Facebook cover for Rail Trails Australia for the next two months. Help us out by voting before 5pm today. Just need to like the photo number 3!! Thanks

23.01.2022 Volunteers working on the trail at Glenroy this morning (Monday 4 January 2020) found a Debit card on the ground. If you have lost a card and think this could be yours please send us a private message so we can confirm details.

23.01.2022 Our town needs your support. Since the bushfires devastated Tumbarumba, jobs and people's livelihoods remain under threat with more impact yet to hit. TimberforTumba is a way the community can support how important this is. Visit the website, link in comments to send a letter of support to the government and get involved. Thank you for your support #TimberforTumba

23.01.2022 Fabulous to meet and greet the group of students and staff from Arden Anglican College from Sydney who are riding the rail trail as part of their day’s activities this morning. Staying at Laurel Hill Forest Lodge they have had a busy few days in the area. What a beautiful day for a ride! Visit Snowy Valleys Laurel Hill Forest Lodge

23.01.2022 What a great way to welcome visitors to beautiful Tumbarumba with these delightful scarecrows at the entrance to town. There are many more scarecrows dotted around town as part of the Tumbarumba Spring Flower Festival, a great initiative of the Garden Club. This Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November you can visit Open Gardens, photo and art displays and the annual Flower Show from 10am to 4pm. Enjoy some spring sunshine, cheeky scarecrows and beautiful gardens - just what we all need at the moment! Visit Tumbarumba Spring Flower Festival for more information on the weekend events.

22.01.2022 Another happy visitor! What a stunning day in our beautiful town

22.01.2022 Here is a screen shot (and link), from the recently released promotional video for Visit Snowy Valleys which just happens to (briefly) feature our Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail and other mountain bike trails in the area - watch carefully at about the 2:50 mark! A reminder that the postponed opening weekend planned for 26 September 2020 has been postponed again (due to COVID restrictions) and is now scheduled for Saturday 10 April 2021. Please let your friends know if the...y were planning on coming down for the weekend. The rail trail will still be open just no celebrations happening yet. Also be aware of snakes becoming active in the area and the occasional protective magpie. https://www.facebook.com/SnowyValleys/videos/600964610600597 We'd love to hear your thoughts on the video!

21.01.2022 One of the best reviews we’ve ever read! Thanks Simon and Susan for your lovely words and the recommendations of our rail trail and the area. We really appreciate hearing your thoughts and thank you for taking the time to write of your visit. Well done on a great ride with your family and we hope you’ll be back one day.

21.01.2022 Great to see Rodney from Guyra venture down our way to check out our rail trail! Such a great story as to how he met some of our committee members over lunch! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and photos too.

21.01.2022 Last chance to pre-order your vest! Please let us know today if you'd like to secure yourself a vest! We will have more available at the Tumbarumba Information Centre but there will be no guarantee your size will be there until the next round of orders.

20.01.2022 A lot of activity with groups from all over NSW and ACT visiting to ride our rail trail lately. Positive reports and comments are always great to hear. (Remember you can always leave your feedback on Facebook or Google, should you wish to do so). It was lovely to meet Jan and Graham on the trail with Jan modelling the latest in magpie deterrent measures. Might be worth a try! Longtime supporter Annette, had great stories to tell of her time on the train from Tumbarumba to ...Wagga and now shes happy to be riding the rail trail with a group of friends. You never know who you will meet and the stories they tell, when you stop for a break along the trail. Thanks to locals Ron and Cath for the the lovely flowers spotted along the way. Its not all about whizzing by as fast as you can!

20.01.2022 Our new Rail Trail brochure is on its way across NSW and VIC to be found at an information centre near you! Also ask about the Snowy Valleys Way or the Snowy Valleys Quick Guides to see what else you can do while you visit

20.01.2022 Another mention, this time in Rail Trail Connections! Spring 2020 issue

19.01.2022 More exciting news! We were visited by Christie Goldrick from Australian Geographic Magazine late last year who wrote this fantastic story on our Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail in the January/February edition of the magazine! Chrissie shares how she hadn’t been on a bike for 20 years but after hiring an e-bike from Tumba Bikes and Blooms, she ended up thoroughly enjoying the experience with the history and seeing impact it has had on our area. Other local users were also interviewed along the trail and Jenny from Gone Barny Nursery & Eucalyptus at Rosewood is featured too! So good for our area Get out and find yourself a copy!!

19.01.2022 Were not sure where this article came from (if you know please share with us) but we like it! Edit: its in the Snowy Mountains Magazine August 2020 issue, link below. Thankyou!... https://snowymagazine.com.au/read-online/

18.01.2022 We've had some snow around the area in the past few days and Tumbarumba Live asked to see photos. Check out their post with lots of great snow shots in the comments section. Here's one of snow falling courtesy of one of our biggest supporters :) (and an admin of this page - for full transparency!). Stay warm over the long weekend!

17.01.2022 We have made it in the Qantas Travel Insider magazine on their 42 Reasons to Love NSW feature at Number 20!! Courabyra Wines is also listed from Tumbarumba for their cellar door and restaurant and our Pioneer Womens Hut, Tumbarumba gets mentioned! https://www.qantas.com/travelinsider//qantas-magazine.html

17.01.2022 A momentous day for our rail trail today, with the counter at the Tumbarumba end of the trail clicking over 10000. It was 10030 at about 2pm today and the Rosewood counter isn’t far behind, possibly tipping over today as well. That means we have had a lot of support and visitors since our virtual opening in April 2020 - despite the pandemic and winter weather. If you have been one of those 10000 then we thank you very much for your support. Leading the way!! It was quite fitting that Mike Halliburton one of the original trail developers was on the trail today with Owen Fitzgerald, they were spotted at Gone Barny sampling the milkshakes.

16.01.2022 You may remember we shared a story from The Tumbarumba Times a while ago about Rosewood Public School using the rail trail. Here is a follow up story in this week’s paper, it’s great to see all the students and staff using the rail trail like this. We couldn’t be happier! Well done to everyone involved at Rosewood School, such a great effort by you all! Happy Friday, we hope to see you out on the trail sometime soon!

15.01.2022 It's not all about bikes. This jolly bunch headed off to walk the rail trail from Rosewood back in to Tumbarumba. The cloud was clearing to a perfect day to enj...oy the countryside and take in the views of the Snowy Mountains. One way shuttle either end of the trail $12 per person for walkers, $15 per cyclist and bike. Please book in advance 0406 376605

15.01.2022 There have been a few new things to see along the rail trail in recent days - a crocodile in a dam, new signs and a snake out for a slither. Also lots of people out enjoying the great weather and local hospitality - some have ‘stumbled’ upon the rail trail and others who have travelled great distances to ride/walk it. However you’ve travelled, we’re just glad you found us!

15.01.2022 The Glenroy Station platform restoration is well underway. Great work from the committed members of the Tumbarumba Men’s Shed yesterday. They appreciated the support of the numerous trail users, particularly the large contingent from Canberra and were very appreciative of the delicious afternoon tea provided by one of the Canberra riders. PS. The trail is proving to be very popular, with the Tumba counter increasing by over 1000 in the first 10 days of October and similar increases at the Rosewood end - how amazing is that??

14.01.2022 Native mud swallows have taken up residence in one of the underpasses along the rail trail. (Not to be mistaken for hornet nests). The birds are very industrious and have made some very clever multi-storied nests. Please admire them from a distance, they are special birds to be enjoyed if spotted. The rail trail is full of nature, wildflowers, wildlife, and history.

14.01.2022 There’s a first time for everything!! Our rail trail has been closed temporarily due to flooding.

14.01.2022 We love seeing locals out on the trail - today some of the Tumbarumba Bushwackers (randomly) met a few of the Social Saturday riders at Wolseley Park. All continued into Rosewood for a warming drink at their own pace. The head wind back into town was a bit difficult for the riders but the Bushwackers had the right idea leaving a car at Rosewood for their return trip to Sawpit Creek parking area. What a glorious day to be out and about! ... Photo by Debbie Gadd See more

14.01.2022 Why not plan to ride our trail when the flower festival is on and you can visit some beautiful gardens or admire sculptures, art and photography! You may even see a scarecrow or two around town

14.01.2022 What other businesses are there in Tumbarumba? Well we're glad you asked. You will remember that we've already mentioned (in previous posts) where to eat and drink so now we have a list of other businesses for you and where possible we've linked to them. Off the top of our heads these businesses came to mind in no particular order. Please let us know who we've forgotten, as we aren't infallible and realise we will have missed some very important businesses! Remember we've ...already covered pubs, clubs, cafes, cellar doors - go back to find these posts if you need a reminder. 14.01.2022 Well done to the Men’s Shed again - the replacement concrete version of the Glenroy Station sign went up today. Thanks to Travis from SVC for lifting the sign into position. The original station sign welcomes visitors to the nearby Pioneer Womens Hut, Tumbarumba Trail users - please note that SVC will be on the trail this week continuing remediation work on the wet patches (generally caused by springs).

14.01.2022 The all important numbers for June are in (we collect them at the end of each month): Tumbarumba: 3880 and Rosewood: 4154 Since the end of May that means there has been an increase of 1891 (T) and 1874 (R) respectively. Such fabulous results!! Thanks to everyone who has come to walk or ride the rail trail and for spending money in our local area. The trail has been very busy, even on the wet, cold days and businesses near and far have reported great trade in recent weeks as ...a result. Theres snow on the hills! This photo was taken by one of our committee members, while riding towards Tumbarumba from Rosewood. Isnt that a great view to have while riding or walking the rail trail??

13.01.2022 This photo from a local enthusiast came in 3rd place (as voted by followers) in a recent photo competition over at RailTrails Australia Facebook page. Well done Debbie Harris! Feel free to share your photos of your ride with us here. You can also write a review on our rail trail on Facebook or Google.

13.01.2022 Thanks to all the wonderful volunteers and organisers for the planting of approximately 500 trees and shrubs along the rail trail over the weekend. We had a great response with helpers from many different organisations in town. Many hands make light work!! We were all given clear instructions, with drops of tree guards, stakes and canes in each of the registered areas. Everyone was encouraged to keep their distance and users of the trail were warned of workers and cars, with... signs along the way. (Some groups are still working on their tree planting so users should be aware of this in coming days). The walkers and riders who went past on the day were friendly and appreciative of the efforts of so many locals. Thanks to Bob and Ros Gay, Ron and Cath Frew and Kylie Durant for all their organisation and to anyone else involved who we may have inadvertently missed. Special mention goes to these groups: Mums and Bubs, Friends of the Rail Trail, Historical Society, Garden Club, Mens Shed, Tumbarumba and Holbrook Landcare groups, PRD and many other family groups who joined in. A great effort by all involved. Here are just some of the photos from Saturdays planting. Thanks to those who sent photos for us to share.

13.01.2022 A group from Molonglo Rail Trail came to visit this weekend and enjoyed seeing the trail in action. They stayed in town and made the most of their time interviewing local businesses to assist in the development of a rail trail between Bungendore and Captains Flat. It was great to share our thoughts, to help them out with ideas, some of our successes and how we have managed to get up and running. Thanks for coming! After all the rain in the past week,it was great to see sunshine and lots of people out on the trail, making the most of it.

12.01.2022 Great to see things are moving ahead up north - slowly but surely!! Well done to all those who have worked so hard, we understand the commitment required.

12.01.2022 Good to have Mark visit again with his penny-farthing and what a lovely morning for a ride. Well done Mark on doing the whole trail from Tumbarumba to Rosewood and back again. It was also nice to have Phil along for company. Both had a big day yesterday in the Tumut Cycle Classic and then came over to ride our tail trail for some fun! Mark appreciated the lack of 40km winds today, which he had to deal with on his last visit. Lots of users enjoyed the sight of Mark riding up high on his special bike. Mark Skimmings

12.01.2022 We always appreciate hearing from those who have visited and ridden our rail trail. Thanks Bicycle NSW!

11.01.2022 Visited Rosewood today. Country is looking good. Saw 10 riders during the half hour we were taking pictures at Wolseley Park

11.01.2022 A big thank you to the Hyne Community Trust for their support. Today we received notification that our grant application for bike repair stations has been approved. A bike repair station will be placed on the rail trail at Rosewood and another at the Tumbarumba Creekscape to support not only the rail trail but the Pump Track, the Skatepark and soon to be constructed Bike Playground. A heavy duty bike pump will also be placed at the Glenroy station site. In these uncertain Cov...id times we are unsure as to when these items will be in place, but we will make it as soon as possible. Thanks for all the support weve had so far. PS. As at the end of July the counter numbers read - Tumbarumba 5116 and Rosewood 5620. These continue to be very encouraging numbers considering that it is now winter (there was a light snowfall in Tumbarumba today) and Covid continues to have a huge impact on our lives.

10.01.2022 Don't you just love a crisp, clear blue sky type of winter's day in Tumbarumba? There's snow on the main range in the distance (can you see it peeping under the sign?), there's blue sky aplenty AND there's now blue directional signs from Albury St onto Langlands St and then into Figures St - obviously it doesn't take much to make us happy!!

10.01.2022 An amazing picture - thanks Rob's Eye View!

10.01.2022 One of our rail trail users lost a camera battery somewhere on the trail today (Sunday 21 June). If you happen to find it please send us a message. Thanks One of our rail trail users lost a camera battery somewhere on the trail today (Sunday 21 June). If you happen to find it please send us a message. Thanks

10.01.2022 Its not every day you get to see a Penny Farthing on our rail trail! Thanks to Mark and Karen Skimmings for driving down from Murrumbateman (near Canberra) just to ride our trail today. Mark has competed in Penny Farthing races in Tasmania and has ridden a few other rail trails on his specially made machine. Its a great looking bike but were unsure just how comfortable it would be over the distance. We look forward to hearing from Mark after todays ride. Hes keen to spr...ead the word about Tumbarumba and we hope to see him back again. Thanks to locals Debbie, MaryAnne, Emma and Joerg for the welcome. How do you think you would go riding this great bike? Mark Skimmings

09.01.2022 News update: Rail Trail Revegetation working bee This Saturday, 29 August 2020, a large team of volunteers from Friends of the Rail Trail, Tumbarumba Historical Society, Garden Club and Mens Shed along with Tumbarumba and Holbrook Landcare groups will be planting trees and shrubs beside trail sections between Glenroy and Rosewood. Cars will be on the trail and may narrow but not block passage for riders and walkers. If youre out on the rail trail please say hello to the vo...lunteers and take extra care. This may occur to a lesser degree during the next weeks while the massive task is completed. Many thanks to all who have responded, offering to help and giving us their valuable time to get the planting done. The trees were germinated from local seed and will see the restoration of a special local species of tableland snow gum a rare surviving species from the last Ice Age. Our snow post on the weekend was very popular so heres another snow view photo, taken this week on a nice sunny day, just a few hundred metres off the rail trail on the Glenroy Hills Road. The snow on the ground only lasted a few hours but these views of the main range will be visible for quite some time to come.

09.01.2022 We had an amazing response to our post about places to eat and drink in Tumbarumba and Rosewood, so here is Part 2 - more places to discover - pubs, clubs and cellar doors around the area - again in no particular order. 09.01.2022 Despite our very best efforts to deliver the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail Family Fun Day in September, we have made the decision to postpone the event to April 2021. Due to the current COVID-19 outbreaks and the evolving situation, it is impossible to predict what will happen next month. Our priority is the safety and wellbeing of our community, fans and followers. The event has already been postponed twice....let's hope the third date is lucky!... We look forward to celebrating with you in April 2021!

09.01.2022 Did you know? There are now 6 geocaches located along the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail! We have been informed that they are quite small in size and each have a pencil and paper for logging your find. Are you into geocaching? More info can be found at: geocaching.com These photos give some hints as to where they may be found - good luck!... Thanks to Martin for this fun information. We always enjoy sharing different ways to use the rail trail. #geocaching

07.01.2022 Its fantastic to see the rail trail featured in so many different places! Thanks to the Snowy Valleys Council we are in the latest edition of the Snow Post Visit Snowy Valleys #comefindus

07.01.2022 A reminder, especially during this hot spell, to ensure you have enough water with you as you set out on the rail trail, as there's no water available along the way (yet). Toilets will be added in the near future, but until then make sure you make use of facilities in Tumbarumba or Rosewood before starting out. All food and drink needs to be carried with you and any rubbish taken out when you finish your adventure. Snakes have been active recently, so always keep your eyes peeled. This guide (which we've shared before) is quite comprehensive and was written by a local enthusiast, and is being updated as changes are made. https://wp.me/p2juKh-9kE Above all, enjoy yourselves, tell your friends about your experiences, post a review on Google or Facebook, share photos and take care.

07.01.2022 Thanks to Phil for this footage of Grant and Mark riding the rail trail, from Tumbarumba to Rosewood and back, on Monday morning as per a previous post. It’s interesting to note that Grant is 1.92mt (over 6ft) tall but he looks a bit small next to Mark on the Penny-farthing! It looks like hard work up there. Would you be keen to try riding one?

06.01.2022 Thanks to Wendy Lavis for these great photos from Rosewood Public School, following on from our post yesterday. We love seeing the happy and proud faces of the students and congratulate everyone involved for the effort they put in. You can’t make this sort of success story up!! ... Here’s the full story: Staff and students from Rosewood Public School had cycling as their term three sport. During the last few weeks of the term, the weather halted their plans to finish with a ride on the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail. The more confident riders travelled into Tumbarumba on Monday and started at the beginning of the trail, expecting to possibly make it as far as the crossing near the Jolly Berries blueberry farm. The school wishes to thank Peter Marshall for the loan of his special bike trailer. A couple of students called it a day here and the rest continued on to Wolseley Park where they stopped for a recess break. A number of students rode back to school on the bus but eight students and two staff members continued to the end of the trail. This achievement was pretty special as not one of the kids had ridden the entire trail before Monday. The students and staff wish to thank Serena Matto at the Rosewood Store for kindly donating slushies to those who made it to the end. Younger, less experienced riders also got to experience the trail, riding at the Rosewood end of the track. These children, too, enjoyed a chance to push themselves on their bikes. What a great story, thanks again to Wendy for sharing her fabulous photos with us! Hope you’re smiling along with the kids!

06.01.2022 Fantastic progress on the Glenroy station platform reconstruction today by the Tumbarumba Men’s Shed and Historical Society. Also good to meet groups of riders from Wagga, Kiama, Toronto, Canberra and of course Tumbarumba. Several back for repeat visits. All full of high praise for the trail and the volunteer efforts. 06.01.2022 Some fun for your Sunday!

06.01.2022 Postponement of the rail trail party, which was due to be this weekend, has turned out to be one of the few positives for 2020! Snow and rain are falling around the area again. The original date set back in April, but postponed due to COVID 19, was also very wet so we are hoping it will be third time lucky for good weather and no restrictions on 10 April 2021.

05.01.2022 Tumbarumba Gym & Fitness Centre have held a Bootcamp fundraiser for families who lost their homes in the recent bushfires (originally postponed due to Covid) Last Saturday & Today the teams came together to complete the course - the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail being one of the stations. 05.01.2022 SAVE THE DATE The Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail Family Fun Day is coming up soon! Mark Saturday 10 April in your diary to come along and celebrate a year of this fantastic trail. ... We are planning a COVIDSafe day of fun for the whole family. More information coming soon.

05.01.2022 What do you do when it looks like being too wet to ride? Plant trees of course. Amongst our committee we have many who collect and propagate trees and shrubs. Today was as good as any to plant some of them. Then to show that it was also a good day for a ride, a group of 12 visiting from Sydney, cycled into view. A great effort, especially from the little ones. #stefano

04.01.2022 Great news just in from our Tumbarumba Historical Society stalwarts Ron and Cath Frew - Tumbarumba Volunteers have done it again. The Tumbarumba Historical Society submitted an entry in the NSW Museums and Galleries IMAGine 2020 Awards Program which highlighted the huge achievements of the wider Tumbarumba Community. The Historical Society, The Mens Shed, Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail Committee, Landcare, Garden Club, and others, assisted by NSW Government Rail Trail fund...ing and input by local SVC outdoor staff were all involved in the creation of A 21km Linear Museum. The awards ceremony has just now ended and the Tumbarumba Historical Society nomination has been awarded a Highly Commended from a large number of entries from throughout the state. A massive boost and reward for all who assisted. Well done all. An even greater reward for many of the team who have been out working on the station restoration project at Glenroy. They continually chat to the stream of visitors using our trail and invariably they say they've ‘come to Tumbarumba because we have a rail trail’. Also word from Adelong Falls, apparently they too are reaping the benefits of our rail trail with many visitors stopping on their way to or from our trail. We love hearing these good news stories! A fabulous result and well deserved!

04.01.2022 Thanks Deb for sharing the views from your group's Sunday ride - how green is the countryside looking out there along the rail??

04.01.2022 What a great story from Rosewood Public School! Cant wait to see them all out on the rail trail. Article in Tumbarumba Times 2/9/2020

03.01.2022 Not what we need at all!! Heavy rain in town after all we’ve been through this year.

03.01.2022 Despite it being winter here in Tumbarumba, there are still people keen to get out there and ride, and walk, our rail trail. We always appreciate hearing from you. Great effort Andrew and team, were happy the weather was kind to you!

03.01.2022 The facelift of the Rosewood platform began today, thanks to the Men’s Shed crew, who are again contracted by the RT Project Manager. Now all that is needed is for the new sleepers to turn up. Today’s work was achieved using similar tools to the 1900’s work crew. Once again the men enjoyed having a chat with the passing parade of cyclists. Just down the trail a SVC crew were undertaking much needed repairs on a section of trail that has suffered with retained water.

03.01.2022 Some before and after photos of the Glenroy Station siding along the rail trail. Thanks to the Tumbarumba Men’s Shed for their hard work in refurbishing this historic area. The Men’s Shed were contracted to do this work by SVC. There’s still some earth works to be done and a general tidy up, but we think it’s looking pretty good!!

03.01.2022 School holidays coming up - get in quick!

02.01.2022 Great to see this group of forestry families out on the rail trail today. Apparently they usually spend these holidays skiing, but this year they are riding the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail instead, after having a delicious lunch in Tumbarumba to get them fuelled up. We just love hearing these types of stories! A warm welcome to everyone who has come to visit during the school holidays. You are more than welcome to share your photos and thoughts with us. Remember to be COVIDSAFE at all times.

01.01.2022 For those hiring the e-bikes make sure you call and book in advance!

01.01.2022 Something our committee members and many of our followers like to do, is check out other rail trails when they are out and about. So here is some news about the Caboolture to Wamuran Rail Trail, a recently opened section of 10.5kms running through suburban areas, forest, farmland and past a timber mill on a high quality surface (a few minor completion works still to be done). It was an easy and pleasant ride and it was good to see the trail was getting use. The information boards were well done and overall it was a well presented trail - congratulations to those involved! Make a day of it by visiting the nearby Glass House Mountains, to climb one, or visit the spectacular lookout - or both! There are several other rail trails nearby - the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail and South Burnett rail trails are both well worth a visit.
