23.01.2022 Pictures of club members helping clean out Bruce’s big shed ready for his garage sale next weekend. Bruce is very appreciative of the assistance from everyone and also the group of last year’s Kokoda boys who came and worked hard. Thanks again from Bruce and Colleen. Club members helping each other out as well as the community!

Lucky the rail trail was conquered on Thursday PS I had 1 job, to take photos and do FB post and of course forgot until I was leaving. Apologies to those missing from the photos and no delicious food pics

14.01.2022 #Rotary #WorldPolioDay

14.01.2022 Well done Rotary! Major progress for Rotary's End Polio Now campaign There are now officially only two countries left before Polio is eradicated. Such a proud moment to be a Rotarian - congratulations to all #EndPolioNow

14.01.2022 Throw back to 2012. Rotary certainly brings out other personalities. Lachie McKenzie got right in to our change of sex theme at one of our get togethers. This photo still makes us laugh Gee your a good sport Lachie and a well respected long term Rotarian.

13.01.2022 Colonel Harland Sanders became an active Rotarian in 1919 when he became a founding member of the Rotary club of Jacksonville, Indiana at the age of 29. After t...hat he joined the Rotary club of Corbin, Kentucky and then the Rotary club of Shelbyville, Kentucky, and was an active member until his death in 1980. He always wore his Rotary pin. "There's no reason to be the richest man in the cemetery. You can't do any business from there." Colonel Harland Sanders. Now we all know why Rotarians are obsessed with serving chicken at meetings.

10.01.2022 Last week Reg from BlazeAid attended our meeting and generously donated some IGA gift cards for Rotary to pass on to fire affected families. These will be dispensed as per all previous fire donations. Many thanks to Reg for passing these vouchers on to us to help our local families.

09.01.2022 Over the last 2 weeks a team consisting of members of the Rotary Club of Bowral-Mittagong and Rob Uhl from the Rotary E-Club of Brindabella volunteered at the A...delong BlazeAid camp. There is still so much work to undertake, repairing fences for property owners in that Snowy Mountains area. From Adelong, Batlow and Tumbarumba regions, so many properties lost homes, sheds, tools and kilometers of fencing. Since the initial foray into the area, good rains have ensured that the blackberries and scotch thistles have reach epic proportions! Well over the heads of the volunteers, which means clearing a fence line is a real challenge! The Rotary Club of Batlow whilst the team was in camp, came and provided the meal for the whole team (around 22 volunteers). Steak sausages, corn, beans followed by Apple Pie and ice cream! See more

07.01.2022 BATLOW NEXT STEPS WORKSHOP Recovery and Beyond Saturday 31 October / 9:30am-1pm / Batlow RSL Club... What is possible when we work together for the positive long-term recovery and renewal of Batlow? You are invited to participate in a workshop to help define and develop the next steps for Batlow’s recovery, and build on the outcomes of the Batlow Recovery Forum held in August this year. This workshop will be part of a series of gatherings to happen over the next few months. Join us on the 31st to be part of creating and planning for initiatives that will take Batlow towards a shared vision beyond recovery. This workshop will build on what has been done to date, identify priorities for action and work on potential projects that can be submitted to the current Bushfire Recovery and Resilience funding rounds*. For those unable to make the Saturday workshop, drop-in sessions will be held at the RSL on Thursday evening 29th 6pm-8pm and Friday morning 30th 9am-11am. You can drop-in anytime between those hours to contribute your thoughts and ideas. Please register for the Saturday workshop, by following this link. For COVID safety, please don’t come this time if you are feeling unwell or showing symptoms. For further information, contact David Newell: [email protected] *The Bushfire Community Recovery and Resilience Fund and the Bushfire Local Economic Recovery Fund represent an opportunity to support community and economic recovery in Batlow in the coming months and years. This workshop has been designed by representatives from Batlow Development League, Batlow CWA, Do It For Batlow, Batlow Rotary, Anglicare, Local Land Services and the Snowy Valleys Council - with support from Resilience NSW and the National Bushfire Recovery Agency.

04.01.2022 There has been a motor vehicle crash on Tumbarumba Road between Rosewood and Carabost. The road will be closed for a number of hours. Please avoid the area. Live Traffic will most likely show when the road reopens.

04.01.2022 The Rotary Club of Tumbarumba, along with Canberra Rotary clubs have another load of used roofing iron for bush fire affected farmers. There's also some screws,... fittings, gutter and railings. It's all stored next to the Rotary shed near the RFS and SES sheds at the end of Bell Street Tumba (just past Brennan's yard) This is free for fire affected farmers. See more

01.01.2022 Another fabulous IGA market day sausage sizzle in conjunction with Rotary & Lions raising funds for our town’s 2 x Cycling Without Age trikes. They’ve been ordered and should be here very soon! We’ll let you know as soon as they arrive. Thanks again to Mark and IGA staff for their generosity and support. Also thanks to everyone who bought a sausage sandwich and/or raffle tickets or just threw in some spare change, it all adds up. We sincerely appreciate all the donations, Tumbarumba is the best community! Photo shows Rotarian Ian Pratt on the bbq, Mark from IGA and a young customer about to enjoy his sausage sanga.
