24.01.2022 Here's an eco-friendly tip for starting your own seeds - use toilet rolls! It's a fun little project and it's 100% sustainable. When the seeds grow into seedlings, you can plant straight into the garden. Are you growing your own veggies at home? If not, you should be! It's so satisfying and you don't need a lot of space! The best part about growing your own food is that you get to close the loop on your household sustainability. Use the nutrients from your worm farm or compost bin to fertilise your veggies and build your soil > grow your own food > eat it > recycle the scraps and the whole process starts again!

09.01.2022 Picking the first zucchini’s from my summer crop - don’t they look good! Zucchini’s are so easy to grow and you don’t need a lot of space to grow them. After pulling out my last crop I prepared my raised beds by adding 1 x bag sheep manure, 1 x bag cow manure, 1/2 barrow mature compost and an entire tray of worm castings. No wonder these beauties look so good!

08.01.2022 How much organic waste do you compost each week? Do you use a worm farm, or compost bin, or both?

02.01.2022 Let's talk Compost! The microbes responsible for breaking down compost need a balanced diet of nitrogen and carbon. Nitrogen comes from green materials such as food scraps, manure and grass clippings. Carbon comes from brown materials such as dead leaves, straw, wood chips, and shredded paper. A ratio that contains equal portions works best for a balanced and healthy compost.
