12.01.2022 PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE LIFTED - As of 1pm 1/9/20, NSW Health has given Snowy Valleys Council the all clear to lift the boil water notice. Test results ...have indicated water quality is within the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines limits and turbidity is under control. We have also provided this update to the local media outlets including Sounds of the Mountains. Please share this information with anyone you know who is not on Facebook. Friday 28 August 2020 : PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE ADELONG, CLOVERDALE AND TUMUT Adelong, Cloverdale and Tumut residents are advised to boil their tap water used for drinking or to use bottled water until further notice. Problems with water treatment mean that the drinking water is potentially unsafe. Water used for drinking or food preparation should be brought to a rolling boil to make it safe. Kettles with automatic shut off switches can do this. Water should then be allowed to cool and stored in a clean container with a lid and refrigerated. Bottled water or cool boiled water should be used for drinking, washing uncooked food (e.g. salad vegetables and fruit), making ice, cleaning teeth, gargling and pet’s drinking water. Dishes should be washed in hot soapy water or in a dishwasher. Children should take bottled water or cool boiled water to school. Snowy Valleys Council is working with NSW Health to manage the water quality incident. This advice should be followed until further notice.
