18.01.2022 Sorry guys, but I have received another message from the Old Sydney Hotel. The final decision has been to cancell karaoke untill we get the all clear from the g...overnment. I feel so bad for venue managers at the moment. They are facing a barrage of new rules and regulations on an almost daily basis. But the decision is final. 17.01.2022 I know full well that I'm not alone here but I have just received a message that because of this coronavirus one of my main venues have cancelled all of my work... there until further notice. Along with all of the announcing jobs that I have lost with festivals being cancelled my weekly income is next to non existent. But here's the thing. I am in my mid 60's (according to my birth certificate lol) and I can remember the stories that my grandparents told me of the horrors that they went through during the first world war. That was the most horrific time of their generation. Did they get through it? Of course they did. I remember the stories that my parents told me of the horrors of world war two. Did they get through it? Of course they did. This whole coronavirus thing will more than likely be the most horrific thing of my generation. Will we get through it? Of course we will. My grandparents went without an income during that time, my parents went without an income during that time, I will go without an income during this time. Many of us will have a lot of spare time on our hands for the next few weeks, maybe months, but we all need to set our minds on other things. Personally, I love making slab furniture so I will occupy my time doing that. I've been putting off clearing a few trees from around our house but I'll now have the time to do that. If you are needing to look for something to pass the time, come around hand help me make slab furniture. I know full well that I won't be able to sell any because very few people will have a "disposable income" at the moment but it will keep me occupied. If you have a project that you need to do at home and you need a hand, I'll come and help you if I can. My point is that depression can easily take hold of us in such trying times. By supporting each other, not only will we occupy our time with positivity but we might even get some of those projects done that we have been putting off for so long. LET'S SUPPORT EACH OTHER AND ABOVE ALL DON'T BE AFFRAID TO TALK TO SOMEONE. This message is mainly for all of my mates in the entertainment industry who have been hit hard but the offer is open to anyone who needs it. 16.01.2022 Regarding trivia, please book well ahead with accurate numbers. Remember that with the number of venues cancelling entertainment people are looking for alternat...ive venues. The limit of 100 must also include me, my assistant and wait staff. So in reality we will probably be limited to around 94 patrons. Please understand that unless you book ahead you may not be admitted on the night. Please help us to help you in these difficult times. A reminder that as of this moment trivia will be at the Carriers Arms Hotel on Monday AND Wednesday and at Kondari on Tuesday nights. Karaoke at the Old Sydney has been cancelled indefinitely. Because I don't have everyone from trivia on my friends list, can you please share this to anyone you know who comes to trivia. See more

16.01.2022 I've just seen the estimated numbers for the Goomeri Pumpkin Festival. An estimated 30,000 people over the weekend and 1,500 pumpkins were rolled down Policeman's Hill. 15.01.2022 Just putting it out there but if anyone is having a wedding or private function where 240v power is an issue, I have three powerful battery operated PA systems ...that can be linked in a wireless daisy chain configuration. All three units can be tuned into the same radio mic frequency. Two wireless microphones (headset or hand held) can be used at the same time or one microphone and one music device such as a laptop or smartphone (custom made for me) or one microphone and musical instrument. This makes it a perfect set up for a bush wedding and reception where good coverage is needed without the worry of mains power. At least 10 hours of battery life for each unit. 15.01.2022 Hi Guys. We haven't forgotten about you all. I've been in contact with all of our trivia and karaoke venues. They are up to date with all of the covid safe regulations. There are still limits for venues and when those limits lift we'll be back in full swing. Please be patient and we'll let you know when it's happening again.

12.01.2022 Running trivia shows is something that I thoroughly enjoy especially when people come up to me at the end of a night full of compliments. One fellow shook my ha...nd last night at Kondari and wanted to know where else I ran Trivia. His team will start coming to one of our Maryborough shows as well as Kondari now. We had a new team last night who have just moved to Hervey Bay from Shell Harbour NSW. Best trivia show ever, was their comment and they said that they'll be regulars now. 11.01.2022 Just a reminder that we are all so lucky to be living in Queensland. Festivals are at last starting to happen again and we are getting back to (a new) normal. T...he Goomeri Pumpkin Festival is happening this coming Sunday. It's always sooooo much fun out there and it's only a two hour drive from Hervey Bay and one and a half hour drive from Maryborough. We always stay at the Goomeri Caravan and Bush Camp the night before. I was blown away at the number of people who came to the Fraser Coast Agricultural Show last Friday. It's so great being able to get out and about again. See more

03.01.2022 I'm getting lots of enquiries about when trivia and karaoke will be starting again. Some are getting confused saying that it is 1 person for every 2 metres. Thi...s is the case for beer gardens and outside areas, not for inside. The second that my venues give the all clear I will post it on Facebook. 03.01.2022 At the moment we are still running all three of our trivia shows and our karaoke show. Please keep in mind however that people will be looking for something els...e to do when their regular entertainment gets cancelled. I have been asked by one venue already to make sure our numbers DO NOT GO OVER 100 including me and my assistant. If you are not let in, please understand that it is because we have reached our limit. Also understand that we will be giving preference to our regular trivia teams of course as it's these people whose regular attendance keep these shows going. We hope you understand. See more
