25.01.2022 My winter work......

25.01.2022 The rain has fallen and the sun is shining!! Woo Hoo. We ask our customers to be patient with us as everyone is needing their pools and spas sorted all at the same time. You are all important to us and we will get your work done as soon as humanly possible! In the meantime, Viola is available at the shop Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm and Saturday from 10am to Noon, to make sure your chemistry is right. Bring in a water sample and keep your pool healthy & balanced! <3 Happy weekend everyone!

24.01.2022 On Tuesday and Wednesday, our shop will be closed. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

23.01.2022 I'm still swimming!! Are you??

22.01.2022 HELPFUL INFORMATION Between Regular Pool Maintenance Visits onsite residents MUST CHECK:... 1) That the system is operating a minimum of 6 hours per day in winter and 8 hours per day in Summer 2) Regularly (especially when windy or stormy) skimmer and pump baskets should be emptied and weir door to the skimmer unobstructed 3) Check if pool is clear. If not, bring a water sample into the shop Asap.

18.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFORMATION: You Can't Beat the Science to SAVE $$$$ It is futile. I am pleading to all pool owners. What you may have done "just fine" in the past no longer applies,... We are in DROUGHT. We have had smoke and fires continually for more than a month! That means your water has not renewed itself and some chemicals will need replenishing and many others WON'T need replenishing!! In particular, SALT and MINERALS go nowhere unless we have rain OR you backwash and refill pools. As we have NOT had rain and we are on water restrictions, then it is WISE to ALWAYS TEST BEFORE YOU ADD, We offer Free Tests once a month to our loyal customers. $12 for those who abuse the water test offer. If you are manually chlorinating your pool, it is JUST as important to test before you add. Today a customer has overdosed her stabilizer and is not running her pump to save electricity. She thought by just adding stabilized chlorine she would beat the system. Her pool is GREEN with algaeal blooms and getting worse as the it is clogged with dead algae, dissolved solids and trapped chlorine that is unable to sanitise. Adamant that she is NOT buying a chlorinator nor running her pump longer, the addition of chlorine (what she has been doing for years) is simply not working No algaecide has been used either. To save $$$. Proper recovery of her pool is almost impossible in these drought conditions, Maybe actually impossible if water restrictions are to be adhered to. If you want to use your pool this summer, please take advice, test before you add. Use quality products that minimuse residue. Don't guess as it will get to a point of no return. Most importantly, pray for rain & Adhere to the water restrictions as fines are expensive. Remember, systems cannot be run once water levels come below the skimmer box. We are all in the same position. We can manually chlorinate and mix some pools, but test first. This would only be a stop gap. If rain doesn't come soon, then most of us will have green unusable pools.

13.01.2022 FOOD FOR THOUGHT.... Winter is a quiet time in the Tuncurry Pool Shop, though Paul is still quite busy in the field. I have been making some jewellery & signs and that has been great. Customers coming into the shop checking their water and we are still providing monthly FREE water tests during winter. Because most people are NOT using their pool, many of the chemicals don't need to be bought, however, some still do. We need to always keep your pool balanced so that the water ...retains it's health. Come September, we will be getting everyone's pool ready for swimming again. Remember too, that it is ONLY your local Pool shop that can photo metrically test your water and give you the professional advice you need. See y'all soon!!! <3 See more

12.01.2022 Dear Customers Firstly, we sincerely hope that you and your families are all safe and well. Tomorrow, Paul and I (Viola) will be putting together procedures and information for our customers.Dear Customers Firstly, we sincerely hope that you and your families are all safe and well. 12.01.2022 Get your water tested and come and see what else is happening at the shop!! :)

11.01.2022 How wonderful is it that it is raining! Save your excess pool water to add Filter Aid to your pool so it can help your filter pick up that ultra fine dust we all got during the fires and dust storms. Then after a day or two of filtering or if your pressure gets high in the filter you can BACKWASH for three minutes and RINSE for 30 seconds.
