23.01.2022 This news is HUGE. Biggest change in lending since I have been a mortgage broker! I imagine it will be a few years away from actually being implemented, but this means that lenders will no longer need to scrutinise everything you do to lend you money!!

22.01.2022 We now have more than 10 lenders offering Owner Occupied 3 year fixed rates under 3%... a pretty solid sign that rates are not expected to be going up any time soon. Also unlikely to go much lower....

22.01.2022 Newcastle Permanent Building Society: many of our clients have home loans with Newcastle Permanent, who have today announced a refund program for over 18,000 members, where the offset account wasn't linked correctly with the home loan. Newcastle Permanent will be doing this in stages over the next 12 months and will contact you if you have been affected by this.

15.01.2022 3 months travelling around Australia and it is plain to see house prices are going up everywhere. More so on the east coast though. Here in Port Augusta SA, the median house price is only $140,000 for a 3 bedroom home! Makes the $1million in Sydney/Melb/Canberra look just crazy!

10.01.2022 As predicted, but a few months early, the RBA has lowered rates again by 0.25%!!! Here we go for another month of rates dropping. By months end you should be able to get a variable home loan rate of about 3.19%!!!!

09.01.2022 After the RBA said they wouldn't lower rates any further, they have again, by 0.15% to a base rate of 0.10%. Not many experts think that this will mean much or anything to home loans though.... it may not be passed on at all.

09.01.2022 ok, so the RBA cut their rates by 0.25%, and the Big 4 banks have done the same. The rest of the lenders will let us know in the next 2 weeks or so what they are doing. If you have a home loan, you will receive correspondence from your lender as to what rate you will now be on, and your new repayments. Suggestion: Keep your repayments higher and pay that home loan off even faster....

09.01.2022 The last of my 37 lenders lower their rates tomorrow after the RBA decision in June. Fixed rates starting at 2.99% and variable rates from 3.38%. Probably another rate drop to come in the next 2-3 months!!! There has never been a better time to try an get rid of the debts that you have, by paying extra NOW!

08.01.2022 We are now about 1 month into the 'pandemic' and we are now definitely seeing some lenders tighten their criteria for home loan assessment and approval. Anyone working casual, or in hospitality will definitely struggle to get a loan right now. But lenders are still lending and with 38 lending options, we are still helping out clients as they come to us for help, and we can help. If you need a better deal with your home loan, let us know... happy to see what we can do!

07.01.2022 Generally, lenders are passing on rate cuts on fixed loans only. They don't want you coming on board, only to go look for a better deal again.... Fixed rates are now generally available at or below 2%!!!

05.01.2022 Anyone that loses employment due to the covid19 situation, can apply to their bank/lender for 'financial hardship' relief. All lenders are offering some kind of help to their clients. Please only do this if necessary as I am concerned that it will still have some effect on you in the future, so best continue repayments if you can. 05.01.2022 Just negotiated with a clients bank, reducing their home loan rate by 1.40%. Simple, quick and same day service.

05.01.2022 With 0.50% coming off interest rates in the last month, all big 4 banks have passed on about 0.43%. Other lenders, like say Auswide Bank have passed the full 0.50% to their customers ...

05.01.2022 APRA have today announced that lenders can make getting a loan easier, by lowering the assessment rate below 7%... we should see maximum loans increase slightly in the next week or so .... which is great news for everyone that 'just' missed out on the last 4 years...

05.01.2022 The RBA has lowered % rates to 0.75%... but it is getting less likely that lenders will pass on these cuts as it makes the whole business on lending unviable. So what is the point of lowering the rates RBA?

04.01.2022 Australian Financial Complaints Authority: 2,201 upheld complaints about Home Loan Services, but only 15 about Mortgage Brokers specifically. 0.68% of complaints about the industry that does 60% of the home loans. It shows which part of the industry is doing the right thing by their clients!
