25.01.2022 Wednesday night we were lucky to be invited to cater for the Forth Valley Lions Club dinner. Many thanks goes to the parents, carers, families and friends of the Scouts that assisted. All funds raised goes towards assisting our local representatives heading off to the 2022 National Jamboree. In particular our thanks and appreciation goes to the Forth Valley Lions for the opportunity.... In between catering we were also lucky to be able to see a dancing demonstration by Fonzies Rock 'N' Roll Dance Tasmania.

19.01.2022 We are so proud of our Patrol that competed in the Clarke Trophy competition camp on the weekend. They did exceptionally well but what was even better to hear was the cooperative way they worked together and the exemplary way in which they conducted themselves. For most of them it was their first experience of this type of event. They will be a force to be recond with in a few years! Congratulations to each and every one of you!

19.01.2022 Jordan Otten is a Leven District Rover Scout (18-25). He is regularly seen supporting our Cubs and Scouts across the district. He has decided to do something practical to help assist those struggling with mental heath issues. ... 1 in 5 of us will experience symptoms of mental illness in any given year. In Australia that’s around 5 million people. And roughly 60% of these people won’t seek help. Lets get behind Jordan and help him reach his goal. In so doing we can also support those battling this illness. You won't need to look far to find somebody! Good on ya Jordan! Ps. You must share a photo with us.

19.01.2022 Charlie one of our Turners Beach Scouts greatfully accepting a $50 gift card kindly donated by Woolworths Ulverstone. We extend our sincere thanks for your generousity and support. The voucher was used to purchase groceries used in our latest fundraiser. The money raised will be used to assist a contingent of local Scouts to attend the Australian National Jamboree to be held in Victoria in 2022.... Thank you so very much!

18.01.2022 This week our Cubs got their green thumb on, pitching in to help out with our local Community Garden. The Cubs made and decorated cement stepping stones and turned out to be fantastic weeders! They made their own newspaper pots and potted Scarlett runner beans with Danuta from Street Seed Libraries, Devonport. Thanks so much Danuta! They planted a lot of seedlings in different places in the garden. Our thanks also goes to the lovely folk from the Turners Beach Community Gar...den. If you are interest in joining in with this wonderful project just like their page for more information. What a top night having fun and gaining skills for life. Sincere thanks to all that made this incredible learning experience possible.

18.01.2022 Turners Beach have a patrol competing this weekend. They are a young crew but very keen, so we wish them the best of luck. What a fantastic weekend for it! Friendships will be forged, skills honed and lessons learnt but most of all a whole lot of fun in this beautiful setting.

17.01.2022 A huge congradulations to our very own Cailin Walters-Simpson who this week completed all the requirements to achieve her Gray Wolf Award! This is the highest achievable award in Cub Scouts (7-11yrs). As part of this Cailin took on the service project supporting Share the Dignity, providing basic toiletry products and other thoughtful items for those doing it tough, homeless or who are victims of Domestic Violence. The items are placed in a bag for ease of distribution and s...torage. With the help of our Cubs and Scouts along with our local community Cailin put together 7 bags. Another requirement was to organise and conduct a hike which was to Forth Falls. Cailin is now linkinking with Turners Beach Scouts (11-15yrs) where we know she will continue to do great things!

16.01.2022 Why not have a bit of flaming fun with your next camp fire! Experiment with changing the colour of the flames.

16.01.2022 One of the greatest things about Scouts is that it gives young people the opportunity to connect with nature.

16.01.2022 This week was all go for our Cubs with a fantastic night of rock climbing at Camp Clayton. How lucky are we to have these amazing facilities right on our door step. Learning new skills for life whilst having fun with mates! Isn't that as good as it gets?

15.01.2022 Every time you want to say Be Careful! see it as an opportunity to help your child foster greater awareness of their environment and their bodies.

13.01.2022 A big weekend for 5 of our Scouts as Toby and Logan head off leading the group on an over night Blue level explorer hike of Dooley's Track. They must: Journey with four other Scouts and complete the following: a) Plan and go on a hike of at least 15 kilometres b) The hike should be in an unfamiliar area c) Pack and carry all appropriate gear and equipment, including food, water, tents etc. The group travels independently but two of our Leaders follow an hour behind in case of... emergency. Essentially the hike is planned and conducted by the Scouts themselves. A HUGE achievement!

06.01.2022 As you can see our Scouts had a whole whole lot of fun at their bring a friend night. Our Patrol and Assistent Patrol Leaders organized some crazy games! If you didn't come home dripping in chocolate mouse I'm not sure you were there!!! Scouts had to try and feed each other whilst blindfolded. Then there was their crazy twist on the late for school race and suculling softdrink through a straw, racing your mate but you can only drink when your candle is burning. Your opposition is trying to blow it out whilst drinking. All this madness was followed up with a chat about the other things Scouts get up to. If you would like to join the fun yell out.

04.01.2022 Just realised I hadn't disclosed who was in the freezer! A couple of you may have had a good guess! Yep it was our amazing Group Leader Eunice Horne. Always hard at it behind the scenes.... I'm not sure if this is what they mean when they refer to a "deep clean" but Eunice decided to give the Leven District Hall a spruce up from the inside out. No COVID germs are safe with her around. Doesn't everyone clean their freezer like this???

02.01.2022 The World Organization of the Scout Movement says that one of the most important parts of being a Scout is helping to create a better world. In Scouts we very much try to foster the importance of community and the value of giving back. To this end Heath, our resident Joey, invited Dianne from Cup of Kindness to address our Turners Beach Group. She spoke about how her idea for the Cup of Kindness started and how they feed homeless and disadvantaged in the Ulverstone area. The Group with the help of their families gathered and presented an assortment of non-perishable goods to help her organisation in their wonderful work.

02.01.2022 Today we had our very first fundraiser post COVID. Where else but Bunnings! A big thank you to all our workers for pitching in and going the extra mile to help make the day a success. Thank you also to everyone that came along, had a snag and supported us.

02.01.2022 This weekend Turners Beach Cubs and Scouts joined with Motton Preston for a fantastic weekend of adventure and fun. Three Patrols competed in a practice competition camp. With only 8 points separating all three teams! Penguin Patrol came out on top with some good healthy rivalry. The weekend finished up with a really enjoyable absailling session and combined parade. ... In amongst all of that family members joined their Scouts to carry out a working bee at Paton Park. Our wonderful facility had a top to toe spring clean. A huge thank you to all our amazing leaders and parent helpers that made the weekend possible. The smiles on the kids faces said it all.

02.01.2022 A fantastic night of archery and rock climbing was had by our Turners Beach Scouts. We kicked off with a sausage sizzle, got down to business and ended with investing not one but two new Scouts! A special thanks to Sarah from Camp Clayton, our activity supervisor for the night.
