14.01.2022 Dashboard warning lights and what do they mean? There are some generic ones and some vehicle specific ones. If in doubt always consult your vehicle handbook. On...e thing you need to know, red light means stop. Stop as soon as safely possible. If you are on the freeway, pull over to the hard shoulder and turn the engine off as soon as possible. The redlights means the vehicle have encountered a serious problem or is in an unsafe condition to keep driving. They range from an open door or boot, to oil pressure warning, brake failure warning and alternator charge light. The yellow/orange lights means a problem that will need attention, but you can drive until able to see a mechanic. If the car doesn't drive properly you should get it checked as soon as possible, but the vehicle can be driven if needed. Will answer any questions you may have in the comments below. See more
