22.01.2022 So excited to be publishing the first Turning Cartwheels Newsletter! Recently I have been reflecting on comfort zones in particular how our comfort zones have been affected by our Covid19 experience and what the implications are for a post-Covid world. I thought this would be an interesting topic for this newsletter. We are living in strange times, I hope you are travelling well through them. ... I have included a couple of freebies that I hope can support you along the way. Take care, Sarah x https://turningcartwheels.org//welcome-to-the-first-turni/
17.01.2022 A message from my fig tree to the world... to keep connecting to ourselves, each other and mother earth in 2021 (yes, I do speak fig ) #love #nature
13.01.2022 Over the last few months I have had the pure joy of swimming with a wonderful bunch of women every morning down at the beach. We call ourselves the Jellyfish and we "aqua chat" as we swim. It's great for my mental health. Now, having grown up in the UK I have certain 'feelings' about swimming in Australian waters. I'm fine with my jellyfish friends because we chat and i don't think about what could be below. Recently however, I have been dancing around the edge of my fear of... looking into the depths while swimming freestyle, "was that a shadow? did something move over there?" So, this morning I dived (!) in ... I went swimming with a friend who heads out into the deep deep water ... yes, it was scary, yes i saw shadows .. but, as Nelson Mandela so beautifully puts it I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear. I know it may not sound like a big thing, but gee it felt great, the buzz i got from conquering my fear was awesome. So, it got me thinking, one of the goals I am going to include in my planning this year is to dive into the scary stuff. Let’s get out of our comfort zones! What will you do this week that scares you? #courage #mentalhealth
12.01.2022 Breathe ... breathe deeply ... let it go ... that's it ... and again. Feel your body and mind settling ... that's all it takes! ... and yet, how often do we pause and just BE? Caring for the mind is as important and crucial as caring for the body. In fact, one cannot be healthy without the other Sid Garza-Hillman... As we all know, we are living in challenging times the unknown future, the continual change, the restrictions on our freedom. You may have experienced anxiety, stress, depression, anger some days may be good, but I’m guessing like all of us, some days are not. It can get overwhelming. I am sure all of us have felt the need to carry on as if everything was normal at times. Well, as we all know it’s not! So I’ve decided to put this offer out there, a reasonably priced two and 1/2 hour workshop where you will have the opportunity to connect with others who are experiencing similar, create strategies to help you thrive in this time and find a space of exploration and nurturing just for you. Friday morning (20th November 9am-11.30am) ... you could choose to gift the afternoon to yourself, as part of your self care :). Why not do it for yourself? https://turningcartwheels.org/wellbeing-workshop/ #wellbeing #opportunity #mindfulness #wellbeing #selfcare

03.01.2022 We just watched David Attenborough's "witness statement" movie on Netflix, as a family. If you watch one movie this year.. make it this one. I guarantee it will move you. It's beauty and wisdom is awesome. This story needs to be told and needs to be heard. ... David Attenborough is the reason I became a zoologist. I will never stop fighting to save the wild. Thank you for your contribution David Attenborough. #SaveTheWild https://attenboroughfilm.com/
