23.01.2022 Third time's the charm! Last Sunday our Rovers hit the driving range and needless to say there were some... mixed results.

21.01.2022 I am sure many of you have seen some of those satirical Turra Times articles floating around on different Scouting groups and Facebook pages. But for those of you who haven't; we highly recommend taking a look and giving it a much appreciated thumbs up!

19.01.2022 Well done to those Turramurra Rovers who helped clean up Barra Brui Scout Hall. Looks fantastic!

16.01.2022 While many celebrate the recently announced resumption of overnight activities, there are a sad few scouts quietly devastated that camping will be limited to ou...tdoor only. The email confirming that overnight activities would resume created hope that was immediately shattered in a cruel bait-and-switch, as it went on to specify that only outdoor camping would be approved. The 1st Yarragal Scout Group had been anxiously waiting for the announcement which would determine the fate of their Indoor Camping Extravaganza planned for the upcoming long weekend. "Do they seriously expect me to take my tent out into the elements? What if it gets wet?" asked one young Yarragal scout. "We are sick and tired of being overshadowed by those bloody 'outdoor campers'," said Scout Leader Luke Ramsay. "They think they're so macho with their 'tent pegs' and their 'camp fires'." 1st Yarragal is one of several scout groups in NSW who continue to uphold the dying art of indoor camping. "When your average person hears indoor camping, they might think of cabins or dormitories at a camp ground," explained Ramsay. "We try to use education to overcome that ignorant stereotype." "They don't call it 'The Great Indoors' for nothing. You get all of the enjoyment of sleeping on the floor, with none of the hassle of being out in nature." The Scout Group has created an online petition to appeal for approval of indoor camping and are still awaiting their first signature from the public.

15.01.2022 Last weekend the crew was joined by some Rovers from 2nd Gordon Rover Unit and 2nd Normanhurst Rover Crew for a great introduction to Cross Country Skiing.

15.01.2022 Well done to our rovers who rolled up their sleeves for the first time and donated blood or plasma! This event, organised by Mia, also marks the completion of her Personal Growth Badge. Congrats Mia!!

13.01.2022 Some of our Rovers shook things up a bit with a little getaway to Blacksmith's Beach last weekend. Four-wheel driving and camping on the beach is certainly the ultimate combination!

13.01.2022 Unfortunately, the rumors are true! We pride ourselves on bringing an amazing event to the table and sadly this year it is not possible due to COVID restrictions. We would like to thank all of those who supported us by buying a ticket. A representative of the crew will be in contact shortly about refunds. ... Never fear! We will be back stronger than ever next year...... Will the "Tom" cruise be the theme again? ONLY you can decide! Stay safe everyone! Turramurra Rover Crew

12.01.2022 Socially Distanced Formal Meetings! Even though a meeting is not the most exciting of activities, it was still a treat to see everyone in person again (from a distance of course).

11.01.2022 On Saturday we ran a workshop to start our transition to the New Youth Program. It was a long day but we got through a lot and are looking forward to the changes to come! Big shout out to Sophie Carter from 2nd Gordon Rover Unit for helping run the workshop and answering our questions!

11.01.2022 Whew! Making a 'Year in Review' video really puts into perspective all the awesome things we get to do in Rovers. Looking forward to more crazy adventures!

07.01.2022 20th of September marked 1st Turramurra's 100th Anniversary! To mark this special occasion, 1st Turramurra embarked on a hike from Pennant Hills Scout Hall to Turramurra Scout Hall. Ironically, the group got "geographically misplaced" but managed to find their bearings and found their way back.

07.01.2022 Thank you Grace for putting together a very fun and creative (and socially distanced) night where we could indulge our inner child!

06.01.2022 If you've ever wondered what an Indiana Jones themed bouldering night looks like then look no further! Courtesy of our Rover crew, Turramurra Venturers were treated to a night of climbing, abseiling, and Indiana Jones themed activities (complete with wide brimmed hats). (Head to our Instagram @turramurrarovers if you wish to see Darcy abseiling, in costume, to the Indiana Jones theme music)

05.01.2022 On Sunday, members of Turramurra Rovers spent their day down at Crosslands Youth & Convention Centre, providing some well appreciated community service! In continuation of a long standing tradition of painting, we sealed four log cabins affected by mould during the winter months. A fantastic job to all who came :D

02.01.2022 The other week we said goodbye to a long-standing Rover who has contributed so much to his crew and the wider community. Harry has always been very involved in all that Rovers has had to offer and has been a great teacher to new Rovers. Thank you for everything Harry and all the best!
