The children had an opportunity to create a piece of art that gave them an opportunity to use and reflect on their daily practice and the principles laid out in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. The children are given agency to develop their own questions, take notes and have input into the decision making in the selection of new educators.

For those of you who don’t know, Earthworks have begun at TURTLE COVE CENTRAL!... We are over the moon to be opening another high quality service to provide "more than just childcare" to children and families. Our existing clients will have a period where they can take advantage of priority of access for bookings for the new service. 05.01.2022 Upcycled Tires The Jellyfish at Strathalbyn have been incorporating some old tyres into their outside environment. So far they have created an obstacle course that promotes gross motor skills and a habitat for their dinosaurs. What else could we create?

04.01.2022 Bottle Bonding Educators spend one-to-one time with our babies and toddlers to support them in developing a sense of belonging. The Attachment Theory suggests that in order for children to grow they should experience warm, intimate and continuous relationships with adults. When giving a bottle, educators talk, sing and nurture the child to ensure their emotional needs are met. These secure attachments support our Turtle’s to develop a healthy social, emotional and cognitive development, building the foundation for a sense of security, safety and resilience.
