25.01.2022 Science Week 2020 Day 2 The children revisited experiences that we implemented yesterday, displaying fantastic memory recall skills while engaging in play. 23.01.2022 National Science Week 2020 Day 3 We continued to revisit experiences from earlier this week, while also introducing a new experience:bicarb and vinegar. We prepared a mixture of bicarb and vinegar to mould into an egg shape, with a surprise hiding within. After freezing for an hr it was ready to go! ... The children focused on this experience for such a long time! So much so, that we ran out of bicarb eggs!! With a bit of quick thinking, we improvised and hid sea creatures at the bottoms of a container before filling the container bicarb. It was wonderful to observe the older children help and guide their younger peers during this experience. See more

22.01.2022 National Science Week: DAY 4. Today was all about magic. Our assistant (my daughter) used candles to draw pictures for the children this morning. The children used a variety of water paints to reveal the picture. Tying in with our ocean theme, the children discovered fish, shark, octopus, whale, turtle and a jelly fish drawn on the paper. This activity promoted the children’s natural curiosity and inquisitive nature as they discovered the ...hidden pictures. To further develop their understandingand comprehension, all the children chose to use the candles to create their own drawings before going over the picture with water paint. This involved experience was so much fun for everyone, with some children even commenting that it really was magic! See more

19.01.2022 Today I observed as the children made their own discoveries while using the rainbow blocks. On their own, the children independently discovered that when the light shone through the blocks it shone the colour onto the wall. 05.01.2022 Such an exciting day today. We discovered a very large stick insect in our covered outdoor learning area. The children loved giving Mr Sticky a pat and watching him sway from side to side.
