18.01.2022 It was an early start to the day when we received a call just before the change of shift. Aerial Pumper 472 was responded to a car alight in Fernleigh Rd just before 5:30 am. On arrival the crew got to work and brought the fire under control within a few minutes. @nswpolice were in attendance and after the vehicle was extinguished the incident was handed to them for investigation. 15.01.2022 472 Stn Turvey Park today delivered a cockatoo to safety after he was hung up high in a tree. A desperate call from staff at Wagga hospital for assistance was answered and the cockatoo was rescued before being whisked away to the local vet for a checkup.

14.01.2022 Small factory fire in Nagle St. Fire and Rescue in attendance. Please avoid the Nagel St area. Police have the roads closed.

14.01.2022 Crews are currently on scene at a unit fire in the Esplanade. Police have traffic controls in place so please avoid the area.

13.01.2022 Operational Update: Due to unforeseen circumstances. Fleet #587, appliance AP472 will not be retired from service just yet. After inspection at FRNSW workshops and delays in the new AP fleet coming on line AP472 will undergo works to ensure its operational life can safely be extended. Once works and repairs are complete the AP will be returned to 472 Station until the replacement fleet program is ready to go.

10.01.2022 At 8pm tonight 472 station and 480 station Wagga Wagga were called to Nagle st to smoke issuing from a factory. Aerial Pumper 472 arrived shortly after and found the rear of a shed alight and smoke and heat filling the front section. An aggressive firefighting strategy saw crews access the fire with the power saw and then use 2 hose lines to bring the fire under control. Further arriving crews from 480 and 472 assisted with firefighting and also gained access to the fro...nt sections of the building. Crews will remain on on site mopping up and monitoring. Through a quick response and fast firefighting the majority of the building has been saved. 1 Aerial pumper, 2 Pumpers a Compressed Air Foam Tanker and the Hazmat Support van with approximately 20 firefighter and the Duty Commander are in attendance. @nswambulance and @nswpolice are also assisting @fireandrescuensw See more

07.01.2022 Meet Wagga’s newest AP472 Aerial Drivers. Keep an eye out for Abe and Zale driving around in the big red truck.

05.01.2022 472 Station were called to a a unit alight around 7:20 pm tonight. The on duty crew reported heavy smoke on route and requested further appliances be responded. On arrival the crew found 2 ground floor units well alight and got to work to contain the fire and prevent spread to neighboring 2 level units. Retained crews from 472 and Fire and Rescue NSW Station 480 Wagga Wagga arrived a short time after and worked to extinguish the fire and prevent further spread. Quick act...ion by Fire and Rescue NSW crews from both stations contained the fire to the 2 original units alight on arrival. NSW Ambulance paramedics and Riverina Police District officers are on scene assisting. The cause of the fire is not determined at this time and FRNSW and Police will be investing. Crews will be remaining on scene for some time ensuring the fire is completely extinguished before departing. See more

03.01.2022 Community Fire Units. A part of FRNSW we don’t often hear much about. These volunteers help protect their street and community. They don’t operate out of trucks but rather community fire unit trailers or street cabinets. They assist in pre fire arrival preparation and post fire black out. Helping out with hazard reduction near their street is all part of the service.

02.01.2022 STRUCTURE FIRE : At 0243 this morning 472 Stn was responded to reports of a house alight in Glenfield. AP 472 responded and arrived 6 minutes after the call to the address to find the front of the property and garage well alight. Crews worked to gain entry and bring the fire under control. P472 and Fire and Rescue NSW Station 480 Wagga Wagga arrived and assists in conducting overhaul and ventilating the property. ... Luckily the occupants all evacuated the property before brigades arrived and no one was injured. The home suffered damage to the garage and ceiling space above and a vehicle was destroyed.
