21.01.2022 Tussock Upstairs Gallery was pleased host to a wonderfull Queenscliffe Literary Festival event last night. The Memories of Music. Andrew Ford, composer and broadcaster discussed his memoir with Professor David McCooey of Deakin University and local musician Andrea Robertson

21.01.2022 Summer Expo 18 19 Works produced overseas will feature at the opening of the Tussock Upstairs Gallery Summer Expo 18-19 opening on Saturday 15th December. Local artist, Stephen Wright, who has recently returned from a painting trip to Italy will be exhibiting his watercolour paintings that feature Rome, Venice and Ravenna. Anne Hastie will be exhibiting her exciting new colourful Bejing paintings. Alongside these works will be new works by local artists Michael Ryan, Pris...cilla Fenton, Paul Waycott, David Jarman, Helen Martin, Jane Kempe and Lance Nutt. Tim Pescott will be featuring new local photographs for visitors to enjoy. The gallery welcomes Melbourne artist Jane dOliveyra as a new exhibitor. Along with these exciting works the gallery is pleased to announce that they have introduced a range of artisan gift-wares as part of their Summer Expo 18-19. New brightly coloured resin home wares by Neolithic will be featured at the opening alongside the Neolithic range of resin jewellery. Neolithic is very popular at Port Douglas, far north Queensland. The exhibition continues through to February 9th 2019

20.01.2022 April 19 - Tussock Upstairs Gallery Nationally acclaimed artist Rona Green and respected local printmaker Janet Goldman will be exhibiting their work in the April exhibition at Tussock Upstairs Gallery. Well known for striking pictures of peculiar characters, Rona has received many accolades such as the Geelong Print Prize, Swan Hill Print Acquisitive Award and Silk Cut Award for Linocut Prints Grand Prize. In addition her work is represented in over sixty Australian and ...international public collections including the National Gallery of Australia. Janet Goldman will be exhibiting a range of her new prints that explore the juxtaposition of relief printing with the subtle colours of Japanese Kimonos. Janet has had prints exhibited in the Geelong Print Prize and the Silk Cut Other artists exhibiting their works during April and over the Easter Holidays include Sue Cumming, Mary Tegelaers, Pip Matthews, Michael Ryan, Paul Waycott, Stephen Wright, Priscilla Fenton, Julie Hall, David Jarman and John McClumpha. The exhibition opens on Saturday 6th April and continues until Sunday May 5th.

17.01.2022 Antelodic - Jazz Evening (Free event) All welcome. Let us know if you will be attending. It will help with arrangements. This coming Saturday 15th September 8 pm. When anyone makes an effort to describe guitarist Robbie Melvilles trio with saxophonists Gideon Brazil (tenor) and Monty Mackenzie (alto), the word unusual comes up. Not only because the woodwinds form the rhythm section, allowing for the guitar to be the melodic voice, but mostly because Antelodic would not exist, had the three musicians and friends, and collaborators in the band cleverhorse not become parents, at almost the same time. Their soft, soothing cloud of sound and whispery banter was in fact, a musical response to the daily challenges of fatherhood. Hence the name Quiet Sufficient of their debut album, which theyre about to launch.

13.01.2022 After 8 wonderful years we decided to close on the weekend of March 21st and 22nd. The timing could not have been better given the circumstances. Thank you to all our friends and supporters we had a lot of fun. We will continue to have and online presence when all this horrible virus gets put in its place so we will keep our facebook page and website operational. We invite artists to express interest in participating in this exhibition Tussock Upstairs Gallery is currently in the process of developing an exhibition program for 2020 The Arts Fair 2020 is the first of the exhibitions planned for 2020 and we are seeking to exhibit a new range of paintings, prints, ceramics, jewellery and 3D works Artists should include a CV of their artistic background and reasonably good JPG image/s of examples of work that they would like to exhibit As we are seeking to broaden our range of artists that are currently associated with the gallery. The Arts Fair 2020 will be a consignment show that will not incur a gallery hire fee however there will be a participation fee to cover opening drinks, advertising and curating The Arts Fair 2020 will be scheduled to run for 8 weekends (Saturday 8th February - Sunday 29th March 2020 . 09.01.2022 Voting in the Bellarine Peoples Choice Art Awards was in full swing at the opening on Saturday. Today the enthusiasm continued with many visitors to the gallery lodging their votes after closely viewing the wide range of works in the exhibition.
