21.01.2022 The timetables have been arranged for when the students return to school. There as spaces for sessions for 2 more students. If you are interested in structured, sequenced lessons with decodable text, please contact Jacquie at Tutoring Online. Parents are very happy with the way that their children are learning at Tutoring Online.

21.01.2022 Today I had the pleasure of listening to a student read the final text in the Magic Belt series. He has worked so hard and has learnt so much since I started tutoring him in July. I am so proud of him and so pleased to be part of his learning journey. He will be onto Moon Dogs next! The pictures include the first and final text in the series. (Shared with parental permission)

09.01.2022 3-cueing vs decoding 3-cueing (M - meaning, S - structure, syntax, V - visual) is an inefficient and unhelpful way to teach children to read. Why? Because chi...ldren need to be able to read any word without the aid of an illustration, context or syntax of a sentence. If we teach them to depend on these cues, they won't be able to read words without them. We need to teach children to read any signpost, railway schedule, or scientific term. Where will the picture, context or syntax be to help them? Decoding is the key to cracking a code, and the English script is based on the Alphabetic Code. The clues are in the text and not in the cues! Let's teach kids to decode! This decodable book is from our Dandelion Readers, Level 1 series.
