20.01.2022 There has been a lot of discussions surrounding NAPLAN and questions from parents and families regarding preparing students for NAPLAN testing and worrying about what the outcomes might be. I came across this article which highlights many concerns teaching professionals share with NAPLAN testing. NAPLAN most certainly has it's place at the moment in Australia's education system, but there are many limitations to this type of testing and we should not solely assess students knowledge based on this test. Your child's classroom teacher uses all types of assessment everyday to access your child's learning. 14.01.2022 Hi Everyone, I would just like to introduce myself my name is Gabby I have been working in Early Years Education for the past seven years as an early childhood teacher. I have a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood) and will have completed a Masters in Education (Primary) in November 2015. 09.01.2022 I believe it is important when students are working on a piece of writing for a few weeks, that when they finally get to the publishing stage their work is fully acknowledged. As teachers it is important to do this by presenting student work in a way that shows students exactly how amazing their work it. Sometimes the focus is not on going through a finished piece of work and marking it over in red, but to show off students work and present it as the masterpiece it truly is! Well done to the Grade One students that got to the publishing stage of their writing this week!
