13.01.2022 Hi there folkes. With all this unsettled rain and storms about. TV antenna systems, can get smashed by lightning strikes. This can either just blow the balun on the antenna, blow the masthead amplifier or tv splitter or at the worst filter through and cause your TV sets to spark out and anything else that may be attached to it. There has been occasions in my experience where sparks were coming out of the TV socket in the wall.... Attached is a photo of an event from the summer of 2018-2019 of a lightning strike hitting the balun. This caused pretty much everything electrical in the premises to cease operation. And the customers insurance bill must have been massive. The other thing is heavy rain can get into older antennas and improperly fitted amplifiers causing them to short out. 05.01.2022 After 10 years of franchising with another company, Brenda and I decided to branch out on our own. 04.01.2022 With all this wild wind about we have had some calls regarding TV antennas falling over that weren't properly installed. This can happen in this type of weather. Even when the reception is marginal on your existing system wild weather can cause havoc with your TV viewing. These problems can be rectified. ... We can provide free onsite quotations for insurance work, or if you like repair/ replace existing antenna systems on the spot if necessary.
