The "needle pin" has a small needle made of solid, comp...ressed insulin attached to a compressed spring that is restrained by a disk made from sugar. When the capsule is swallowed, water in the stomach dissolves the disk, releasing the spring and injecting the needle into the stomach wall. In tests in pigs, the researchers said they were able to deliver five milligrams of insulin comparable to the amount that a patient with type 2 diabetes would need to inject. See more

10.01.2022 Early interventions( diabetes education and self management by a Credentialed diabetes educator within 4 weeks after the First Diagnosis) in newly diagnosed T2 Diabetes Patients in the Toowoomba region have shown to reduce the HbA1c from an average initial value of 9.5% to 6.2% after a 3 months follow up in a study which is currently underway at our Centre. This is a unique prospective study and it will follow patients HBA1c at 6 months and 12 months post diagnosis. If you or anyone you know who is a newly diagnosed T2 Diabetes patients, please request your GP to initiate a GP Management Plan and refer you to our Diabetes Educator who do not have any waiting list and can see you as soon as possible.
