08.01.2022 Hello Peaches! Things have been quiet over here at The Women's Collective lately. We have been doing a lot of compulsory training, submitting certain things that have to be submitted and generally trying to get things in order so that we can continue to function correctly for our members and hopefully future members.... It's important to remember that even though this looks a bit boring to people on the outside, this is necessary and in the end beneficial to all to make sure that things run smoothly. I have recently just completed some fantastic training that was not compulsory - but extremely relevant and important, run by our amazing Respect and Responsibility team here at VU and facilitated by the fantastic team at Undercurrent Victoria. http://www.undercurrentvic.com/ The training was on 'Respectful Relationships' and was focused on recognising the signs of an abusive and negative relationship and what we can do about that. It was also an important training session in regards to the dialogue we use around issues like sexual assault and relationships in general. All this training will lead to a better executive committee for The Women's Collective and we are a society that is 100% committed to being informed, educated and respectful above all else. The fun will come very soon - I promise - but until then, rest assured that we are working towards a healthier and happier society with true values.

03.01.2022 I have recently be contacted by the Phoenix Youth hub who are offering a leadership, development, health and wellbeing programme for young African women from the 25 September in Footscray. This is a great opportunity to gain some extra skills for free and to spend some quality time amongst your peers in a welcoming space. REGISTRATION IS ESSENTIAL so please send me a message with your email so I can send you the forms.... Please feel free to share if you know anyone who would be interested. WHEN: Weekdays from 25 September - 3 October, 2018 TIME: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm VENUE: Phoenix Youth Hub 72 Buckley Street, Footscray COST: Free, with lunch provided daily.
