At this time in SA it isn't mandatory, but it is strongly recommended to wear a mask when out in public. Children under 12years of age do not need to wear a mask, as they may not be able to handle it safely. Masks or face coverings should NOT be worn by children under the age of 2 or anyone who has trouble breathing, is unconscious, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance.
