25.01.2022 It’s going to be 39 today, and I wish I could be spending the day in the pool, surrounded by olive trees, fig trees, and jasmine, in true Mediterranean style. Instead, it’s not 7am yet and I’m on my way to meet with my clients on site to discuss and choose... pool tiles! And guess what? It’s early, it’s Monday, but it’s actually a great start to my day! Happy Monday everyone! @hotelparticulier_arles

21.01.2022 The most beautiful souls are not the ones who constantly leave their past behind to move forward. They are those who build upon it, and move forward while embracing their origins. Layers is what create character, charm and beauty. I believe the same applies to homes.

18.01.2022 THROWBACK - 11 years ago, I lived in an old fibro beach shack in Watermans Bay. It was all sorts of weird and dark and kind of trippy when we moved there, but rent was cheap and the shack was perfectly located, just one street back from the beach. Once repainted and furnished with, mostly, kerbside finds and charity shops goodies, it became a beautiful, soulful, bright, breezy and relaxing abode, in which we could, at night, hear the ocean, and make the sweetest dreams. If I could have bottled and sold the feeling this house awakened in me, I’d have made millions now. by Heather Robbins

16.01.2022 Hello long weekend! I’ve missed you... Could totally retreat to the home of Kirsty Davey from @otisandotto for Easter (or forever), which looks like perfection to me. That table How many puzzles, crafts, books, preserves, have been made on it? How many teas, cordials, and wines have been poured there and enjoyed at that very table? Talking about wine, I have to go! The weekend is calling and it wants me back by Sophie Timothy

15.01.2022 Forever grateful I am to live in this amazingly beautiful country. Forever saddened by the horrendous treatment inflicted on Indigenous people throughout colonisation and beyond. Forever in awe of the resilience of Aboriginal people, of the richness of their culture, the complexity of their systems, the intricacy of their arts, their connection to the land. Forever angry when they’re asked to move on from very recent and systemic traumas, while we continue to respectfully cel...ebrate events that happened more than a century ago and the birthday of a queen who never really set foot here. Forever torn, as a non-Aboriginal person, about living here happily, while I know it’s a stolen land. How can we expect Australia Day to be a day of unity when it is held on such a divisive date, a date that symbolically marks the start of genocide and segregation for our first people, and prosperity and freedom for others? History is never black and white. There are always two sides to a story. A united country is one that acknowledges and respects both. And we are far from doing that. So today, I won’t celebrate Australia Day. I will stay home and speak in silence to the trees and the birds and the sky. I will pay my respects to this land. I will think of the elders, past and present, who looks after it. And I will pray for hearts to open, mentalities to change, and for all Australians to come together and understand, with pride, that this land always was, always will be, Aboriginal land. @salty_one_here . . #alwayswasalwayswillbe #aboriginalland #australiahasablackhistory See more

12.01.2022 January is a bit of reset month for me. I set goals for myself, my business, my money, my family and my home. I work on strategies. I declutter and deep clean the house. I book a massage and some other me times that I almost never do otherwise. I catch up on unattended general health matters (you know, those blood tests and non-urgent specialist appointments we keep on delaying to book) And I try looking at everything - abstract or real - from a different perspective. This... year’s reset flow was greatly boosted by starting the year with a new flooring in our living room, which got me to look at the room with different eyes. New layout followed. New cushions and protective throws (so far unchewed by the dogs but that might change any day...) The change is so positive for our home, our lifestyle and our eyes, that it feels as rejuvenating as a holiday! (Ok, maybe not for my partner who spent the full week between Xmas and NY on his knees, ripping up carpet, laying a subfloor and then laying the floor... but in the big picture, that’s a detail, right? ) What’s your January like? Full of positive energy for the new year? Ready to make some changes? Or still half-lazy/half-boozy because, you know, summer heat, leftover food, after-party parties, school holidays, and all? 10.01.2022 START THE CAR!!! - Running across town to finish up a client installation today, I popped down to IKEA to get some cushion inserts (their feather ones are the best value for money ever!). In a mad rush to get to the checkout, I was stopped in my track by a vision of beauty, glimpsed from the corner of my eye. Its name is DEJSA, it is a brand new addition to the Ikea family, and it’s one of the best newly released mushroom lamps I’ve seen in a long time. I have been a big sucker for mushroom lamps (and vintage lamps in general) for a good 10 years, and, while I love buying quality original vintage pieces, I rarely can afford them. While this Ikea baby can’t quite compete with its high-end sisters, it packs a sweet punch for under $50. IKEA

06.01.2022 Happy New Year! May 2021 be gentler, inspiring, positively challenging and fun to you and me. There’s love, hope and magic in every day. Here’s to seeing it all year round (If all fails, there’s still gin & tonic... )

05.01.2022 I had the most wonderful girls weekend with a bunch of rockstars last week. 3 days down South, drinking, eating, chatting, laughing, TikToking and basically just enjoying being ourselves and in each other’s company. It made me realise that I hadn’t left Perth metro and my daily routine since August 2019 So grateful for the amazing women around me and for our beautiful country, always so full of opportunities and breathtaking sceneries.

03.01.2022 Pool tile shopping one day. Pool pavers the next! Thank you, @ecooutdoor for making your showroom such a visual and textural treat! It’s always a pleasure to visit you.

02.01.2022 Happy Aussie-versary to me! This photo was taken 15 years ago, on the day of my arrival. I had lived a bit in Perth on two occasions before, but this time, I was here to stay. I had just left my dream job, my beloved apartment, my cherished hometown, my friends and family, and had come with a one year visa, 23kgs of luggage and a heart full of hope. Be bold, embrace life, love deeply, and go after your dreams. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it.
