25.01.2022 HELP SAVE TWINNIES PELICANS DONATIONS NEEDED PLEASE SHARE It’s pretty grim out there and tonight we need your urgent help. We really need donations to keep us going. To keep us being able to do what we do best. Save pelicans and birds. The last few months have been tough. That’s an understatement. Bushfires and now COVID-19 means that our donations have really reduced. Actually, they have stopped. ... On top of that, we have not been allowed to have volunteers which has made things so tough. Near impossible for our small team. We’ve tried hard. The calls for help keep on coming but it’s been really difficult without the funding. We were put on this planet to rescue. To rescue and rehabilitate pelicans and birds that urgently needed help. We’ve tried our best. I’m sure most of you remember. Rob was hatched from an abandoned egg we found near the water’s edge on our back dam. The egg was cold so we looked at each other and without thinking twice we brought the egg up too our intensive care room and placed it in the incubator and 6 days later we had a pelican hatchling. We were very excited and really couldn’t believe what we had accomplished.. He’s become our resident and is loved by all who meet him. We’ve also had a lot of pelicans come in with botulism over the past few weeks. We know what to do, it’s in our blood However, without the adequate funding we just can’t keep on going like we are. We want to be able to answer every call for help but we are stressing. We’ve really tried to hard to not ask you for help but we need help right here right now. If we could reach $30,000 tonight that will allow us to pay all of our bills and have some room to be able to take in those pelicans and birds that need our help over the next little while. We know the calls will continue to come in and we need your help tonight to make sure we have the funding in place to answer every single one of them. Just $5 from each and every one of you would get us over the line. It’s just the cost of your next cup of coffee but one that will make sure that our organization can survive the tough times at present and save more lives. Please also remember to share this post amongst your family and friends. It would help so much! We receive no government funding so you are our lifeline tonight. We need you.. Our pelicans desperately need you. Please donate now: https://twinnies-pelican-and-seabird-rescue-inc.giveeasy.or
25.01.2022 Now this was there first time for these southern giant petrels, when they seen one another ,we loved how they greeted for the first time.

24.01.2022 Another week has gone by and Mr Percival baby is growing as you can see. It won’t be long he or she will be exploring by leaving the nest sight and meeting up with the other pelican chicks and forming there own crèche, but that won’t be for at least for another week or so,and parents will know there own baby to feed. Mr Percival just loves his baby,he just melts our hearts
23.01.2022 This story is heart breaking video will show Cruelty
22.01.2022 Remember me!!!! Look I’m almost 4 months old and what a journey I’ve had with my twinnies raising me. Rob has been a big delight looking after him he is full of character,he is a full grown pelican now. But still a big baby and still needs to learn more. Just wanted to show you all his full growth.
22.01.2022 You wouldn’t think these are the same babies look how they have grown, actually they are 9 weeks old,now we don’t see them cuddling up to there parents they only go and call out for food and that’s the only time you will see them together. So Mr Percival and his partner have done well to raise a baby pelican,we are so proud of Mr Percival. The babies are actually frightened of people which is great.... They are swimming and starting to put there head into the water looking for fish,so they are already learning they grow up so quickly.
21.01.2022 Over the last few days we have been very busy rescuing and people dropping off birds and a lot of orphans starting to come in,had to rescue this curlew at Glenview, she is one very thin curlew, the black swan we had to rescue her in a person’s backyard at little mountain she also very thin, but is improving slowly, the poor baby ibis has soft bones, glad Dr Claude is giving her a chance, giving her a lot of tending loving care. And the wood duck ducklings are all from different fa...milies,some lost there parents. The little orphan brown bird is a yellow Robin he is doing so well. The plover chick was brought into us as a egg, because of land clearing, then it hatched. Faith the pelican is still with us and she is still in our icu room where it is nice and warm along with all the other birds so it’s a full house in our icu part, but gladly there all still with us and going forward. See more
20.01.2022 With the sadness we had yesterday it was so nice we had two lovely young ladies come and help us out and went on a bird release in local area Not a pelican thank you
18.01.2022 Today we have had another busy day cleaning, rescuing and a pick up from the Australia Zoo wildlife hospital. It was nice of the Australia Zoo Wildlife hospital to phone us today about the little cygnet, she had fishing line around her and she was getting picked on by other swans and other cygnets, they did try and release her back but parents and siblings were still picking on her unless she didn’t belong to that family, now she will be in our care for 6 months before release. S...o our mum went to pick her up for us. Then we got a phone call for the white face heron, she is a little juvenile and she fell from her very high nest, gave her pain relief for her limp. Once we got the heron then we had another phone call for the pelican that had a rubber lure in leg and a rusty hook in wing. Mum helped us removed the hooks then we gave it a good clean and pain relief and antibiotics,he has settled in quite well too. See more
18.01.2022 We are remembering Steve Irwin day we had plenty of laughs back in the day.
17.01.2022 Hello twinnies being interviewed tomorrow by ABC Australian Story will let you know when it goes to air
16.01.2022 This southern Giant petrel came into us by Sunshine Coast Wildlife Rescue 10 days ago and honestly we thought there was no hope as inside his mouth was so white no sign of pink so he was anemic and very weak. He was found near a dog park at Kawana Beach,we were so worried for him,but as you can see he has picked up in his strength slowly,he enjoyed his pink fillets of salmon today. Honestly we were so worried on his arrival when we first seen him,so thank you Sunshine Coast w...ildlife rescue for bringing him to us and the man who spotted him. So we have named this one Georgie. These beautiful birds travel long distances,we have looked after so many of them.
14.01.2022 The southern Giant petrel were put together today as the other one has improved over the couple of weeks glad it has worked out for both of them. It has been a battle but we are getting them back to good health again.
13.01.2022 This cute little pied cormorant was covered in oil,it was the quickest rescue we didn’t have to leave our centre he came to us and walked in the door for help the poor little fella. He still needs a couple of baths yet but he is eating really well and glad he is recovering.
13.01.2022 A couple of days ago we had a phone call about this poor juvenile pelican at Bells creek Caloundra,he was sighted up in a tree then fell down on his back then couldn’t get back up on his feet. But worse of all he regurgitated a lace monitor, this is so strange, must of been so hungry. Usually we see them regurgitate hooks and line up not a lace monitor,so is this saying something that the passage is getting fished out or something is going on.... He is in our care now as he was a bit sick but he is doing well. Just couldn’t believe what he regurgitate haven’t seen this ,while we have been caring and rescuing seabirds for 20 years ,it was a shock to us to see and oh boy it had a bad odour when he regurgitated it up.

12.01.2022 These are the baby magpie geese that Marvin brings back to us each time when he nest down the road from us,the poor little things walk a long way to get to us, so we can look after them for him,it was a beautiful release for them, they might fly back home.
12.01.2022 Thank you channel seven local news showing our Facebook page story
11.01.2022 Like we promised here is a update on Mr Percival, his baby is a week old and we are so proud of him as we can see the baby pelican chick is growing beautifully and we have learnt something by observing that the male pelican feeds more than the female, but they both take time out sitting on the baby pelican. We haven’t told you all ,we had a special bond with Mr Percival when he was out in the wild at chambers island at Maroochydore Queensland he always use to get hooked up pret...ty bad and we never had to use a fish to rescue him,he always use to run up to us,he had his fair share of line entanglement over the years. But the poor thing lost his wing due to a bad injury and a beautiful vet fixed him up and we got a special permit to keep him on our dam and we let people and kids know what fishing line and hooks can do to the wildlife. So we are so honoured to see Mr Percival doing a great job and his partner raising this little pelican chick. Mr Percival goes for a swim and catch little fish then he feeds his little one and we feed him fish too,so he has a great life living on the dam,no more hooks and line.
09.01.2022 This is true love for our Mr Percival. We have a special permit to look after him,we have had him for 18 years now and he is enjoying life down by the dam. As you all know that the pelicans breed at our bird sanctuary and we even have pelicans flying in.... Mr Percival has never given up trying to have a baby pelican chick,he sits on his eggs with his partner that shares the incubation and the eggs have never hatched,he has been doing this for 6 years now and we felt so sorry for him as it’s so sad when he seen the others around him seeing baby pelicans. So we did this amazing thing for him as we wanted to make him really happy this time. We switched one egg over from one nest to the other. Mr Percival and his partner has been communicating with the egg and today the egg hatched and we just couldn’t believe how Mr Percival was proud as punch. He made us cry as you can tell he and his partner are in love with there new born pelican chick. Glad he will feel like the others that are surrounded around him with there pelican chicks. We now have 5 pelican chicks now down by our dam and another one should hatch in the next day or two. So we have a little rookery going on now,it’s amazing seeing pelicans flying in and out to come back to sit on the nest for there shift.
09.01.2022 Here is the other release,it was a great feeling to see this heron fly again.
07.01.2022 Just look what we see every afternoon at feeding time we just love how they come in and land. It takes about 3 laps for her to land to get it right,it’s just amazing.
06.01.2022 Now all of you can see how Mr Percival and his partner are in love with there new baby chick,he has been doing a great job looking after it,he’s just a lot more happier around the nest sight. And his behaviour is just amazing, been doing a lot of pelican talk to us,as he knows where so happy too, glad we did that amazing switch for him. Hope you all enjoy watching.
06.01.2022 Remember this poor little girl she came into our care on the 29th of June and she had botulism really bad, well she has pulled through after a lot of tending loving care that we gave her. This little girl has been banned and actually we got a phone call from the Australian Bird and Bat Banding scheme today. She was banned at Lake Brewster in N.S.W .... When the pelican was banned 2 years 2 months and 25 days the pelican has flown the distance of 934 kilometres,we thought this was amazing,we are so glad that she was spotted at Berrinba wet lands, and she came to us to be looked after,so glad we pulled her through, she is such a sweet pelican. So happy they phoned us about her history.
05.01.2022 We had landsborough joeys come for a visit and Thursday night we have another scout group coming in and today we had few visitors come in by bus and we have been asked to go to couple of schools up the coast
04.01.2022 Yesterday we had the chance to release 2 birds one was a purple swamp hen and the other one is a white face heron both were critical. But we put the time and the effort in and most of all we had patience for there recovery. Also we had 2 new volunteers Michelle and Kate to come along to watch.
04.01.2022 Look Marvins babies are back,we heard them chirping,we just couldn’t believe it,so we must have the right environment for them. We think it’s just amazing they made it home again.
03.01.2022 William from Wildlife Noosa came to us today for some help for this pigeon that had been suffering for sometime fishing line around both feet ,pain relief was given and all line removed . The pigeon will be in care and when healed we will released back to William .fishing effects all birds , putting pics to show
02.01.2022 Over the last few days the poor juvenile herons have been falling out of there nest,2 of them are related and the other 2 have came from different areas,we had to pick one up and Sunshine Coast wildlife rescue helped us with the other 3 as we are so busy caring for the birds. All 4 have soft bones but glad they are all stable.
01.01.2022 We had a look at wetlands today to see if suitable for a release
