25.01.2022 Last weekend we had our first in house Comp of the year at Burrendong and we heard it was fishing tough but when we worked out where they were and what they were biting on was well worth it. Even though it dropped almost 1ft over night, the fishing was on again Sunday morning. The Yellas were all soccer ball size and still full of eggs. Follow ups and so many dropped fish made it a good weekend for some. Biggest yella went to Norm Wilson at 620, 2nd Grant Roberts at 610 and 3rd Chris Wykes just shy of 600 with a new PB of 597. A couple of carp and catfish were landed and only 1 Redfin. Chloe Chandler biggest carp at 670 and runner up Brydie Chandler at 620.

25.01.2022 Staff Development Day at Burrendong Dam yesterday. Only fish for the day, however apart from the wind a great day. Rosco we still have a lot of work to do. Looking forward to the next one. Might have to make this a regular thing.

24.01.2022 Quick fish today and it’s still a little hard to find them but still managed to land this beauty... Beats working any day of the week! Next in house comp 16th-18th at Burrendong.

24.01.2022 This weekends code for our in house comp is 48. Please have this visible on your brag mat! Good luck

23.01.2022 Results are in for the weekends comp at Burrendong and the fish are a bit slow going but still managed to land a 25 all up. Although we were targeting Yellas it was good to see 5 cod landed and released immediately all roughly 500-600 in size. Bugsy took the biggest yella measuring 575 with a close 2nd 545 Only 2 Redfin were landed. Next in house comp will be at Burrendong again on the 16th October.

22.01.2022 Doing a club polo shirt order if anyone would like a larger size after the Covid lockdown drinking sessions (kids not included in comment)! Post your order below, cheers!

21.01.2022 This could be an easy $100-$600 if you spend an afternoon on the Bell River in Pioneer Park chasing Mud Marlin for some easy cash. Contact the page or Norm if you happen to snag one. All you need to do is take a picture of the Carp with the Tag and tell us what identification number is on the tag. There is no entry fee! Happy hunting...

17.01.2022 Last Sunday a few members went in the Pirtek Fishing Challenge which is Australia wide. This challenge raises much needed funds for leading medical research organisations; the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and The Peter Duncan Neurosciences Research Unit at St Vincents Hospital. Congrats to Jared Wykes who caught the biggest Yellow Belly on a purple feral cat measuring 59.8cm This comp has some great prizes and recommend this event to all keen fishos next year.

16.01.2022 The team from TRFC are currently on clean up duties along the Macquarie and Bell River for clean up Australia Day... worst thing is the amount of rubbish so far, best thing is finding a Feral Cat!!! Winning!

14.01.2022 Welcome to the start of Cod season. I Started the year with a cracking 85cm river fish. Hopefully there are a few trips planned for this weekend and looking forward to seeing all those trophy fish and if you cannot find the fish, finding good company to share the time with is just as valuable. Now that I have your attention there are a couple of things coming up to add to your calendar. ... This year we have decided to have our annual Christmas get together on Saturday 14 December. We are running it a little different this year given the current water conditions, drought and busy time of the year. For the fishos we will be running a low key in house fishing Comp kicking off from Friday 13.12.19 midday and closing with weigh in at 4pm on Saturday 14.12.19. We will commence our AGM at 4.30pm and at the conclusion of the AGM have our annual presentation and carry on with a few drinks. At this stage we have penciled in the Lion as the venue however will confirm all details as we work things out. As you may or may not be aware we have two annual plaques hanging in the Lion for the biggest yellow belly and biggest cod. These fish can be caught anytime throughout the year by any member (it does not have to be in a comp) however the fish must be caught in our local waterway of the Bell River, Macquarie River and Burrendong Dam. Cod must be caught in open season and yellowbelly cut off was last week. You have until Saturday 7th December to register any fish and can do so by submitting photos to Grant Roberts, Jarrad and Chris Wykes, Norm Wilson and Bugsy Ashee. Any Cod caught from the 1.12.18 to 30.8.19 are eligible subject to the above conditions All cod and yellow belly caught from the 1.12.20 are eligible for next year. Hope that all made sense and looking forward to catching up with everyone at the Christmas get together.

This Wednesday we will releasing another 3000 into the Macquarie followed by Yellow Belly in February next year. Please respect the hard work we put into restocking the river and dont keep everything you catch. Obviously we dont mind anyone having a feed but give the fish a chance to breed so everyone can enjoy a day on the river! A big thank you goes out to all our sponsors and businesses that have donated so much time, effort and items to help us get through the year. Outback Angler Cow and Calf Lion of Waterloo Tavern The Fishing Factory Orange Gobsmacked Lures Quains Liquor NSW DPI Fisheries Gone Fishing Day Merry Xmas and a happy new year to all!

13.01.2022 For anyone interested we will be releasing approximately 22,000 yellow belly fingerlings into the Macquarie River Monday morning 23rd, 9am at the low level boat ramp in Wellington. All this is possible because of meat raffles at the Lion of Waterloo every Friday night and without your kind donations we are another step closer to getting our stretch of river firing again. We have seen an increase in catches over the last few years and look forward to the future of fishing the Macquarie. Please no drought or global warming comments, just enjoy your Xmas Take care over the break and tight lines!

13.01.2022 Results are in from the weekend. We had a few boats fishing the river and the dam. All had to work hard for their fish but the river boys proved better on the Yellowbelly front whilst the dam boys dominated with Redfin. The big Green fish managed to allude everyone. Big shout out the Jayden (pictured) boating his first fish and what a cracking Yellowbelly it was. We have an Outback Angler prize pack heading your way Jayden. ... Our winners of either a $30 voucher at Cusacks Butchers or Outback Angler went to Andy Byrnes - Yellowbelly - 475mm (River) Bugsy - Catfish - 532mm (River) Chris Wykes - Redfin - 372 (Dam) Cod and Carp went unclaimed. We also had three lucky door prizes for all those that got out or sent through a photo of the weekend. Shaun Gowens, Norm Wilson and Grant Roberts all have a lure heading your way. I will get prizes out to the winners through the week. Thanks for a great weekend on the water and looking forward to the next outing which will be on the weekend of the 22/05/2021, might need a decent fire for this one !!!!

03.01.2022 Twin Rivers Fishing Club released 22,000 Golden Perch Fingerlings into the Macquarie River this morning at different locations. It was great to see the young and old getting involved especially Alice who went for a swim with the fish.

02.01.2022 What a great weekend on the Dam! Wind, storms, sun and plenty of laughs. With over 50 fish entered for bragging rights in our last in house comp of the year which will determine our Grand Champion for 2018.... We couldnt have asked for a better ending. Daniel Stanford landed 21 wish for the weekend and took out the biggest Redfin (385mm) and Catfish ( 330mm). Daniel from now on has lost his long time mentor and wing man due to Bugsy Ahsee being out fished once again by Dan...... Hang in there Bugsy his honey moon period will soon come to an end! Aaron Speechley and Brodie Speechley made a quick trip from Mudgee to join in on the fun and ended up with 1st & 2nd place in the Yella Belly. Brodie was leading the way with his first fish of the morning measuring a whopping 585mm but was knocked off the leaders board by Aaron who snagged a 590mm on the same stretch of bank 10 minutes later. Jared Wykes came a close 3rd in the Yellas with a 570mm. The fish were a bit hard to work out but if you put in the hours you get results. Some boats were trawling in and out of snags 60ft deep getting results while others were trawling on plain banks in 5m of water. Yabbies are still producing good fish but I think it just depends how many people have hammered that snag before you. Thanks to everyone that made the effort and came out for a great weekend.

01.01.2022 Member of the Club Aaron Speechley with a 105cm thumper caught at Burrendong last night... Well done
