14.01.2022 This weekend at The Spiritual Co-op group #Virtualmarketplace our theme is #shapeshifter #familiar with a big focus on our familiars! Because.... It is also WOR...LD ANIMAL DAY on Sunday, October 4th! What a great day to acknowledge, celebrate and honour our beautiful animals. Yes, I know, we all do this every single day; on October 4th we all do this together! It's an international celebration for animal rights and welfare. World Animal Day bring people together who consider animals to be sentient beings. People who are the voice for animals, fight for better treatment and work in animal welfare. A day for you; to show your absolutely love for animals at a global scale. I did some research and discovered that the first world animal day started in 1925! Here is an extract Wikipedia and also included on worldanimalday.org.uk: "The first World Animal Day took place on March 24, 1925, in the Sport Palace in Berlin, Germany. More than 5,000 people attended the first event. It was founded by writer and animal activist Heinrich Zimmermann, author of Mensch und Hund (Man and Dog). in 1929, World Animal Day was celebrated for the first time on October 4, the day it was originally intended to be." I also found out that St Frances of Assisi inspired 4 October to be a feast day to bless the animals. "This day is also the the Feast Day of Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of ecology and animals. He was able to talk to animals; The feast day is the customary day for Catholic and Anglican churches to hold ceremonies blessing animals. Francis of Assisi believed that nature was the mirror of God. He called all creatures his brothers and sisters, and even preached to the birds. He also believed that human beings have a duty to protect nature as the stewards of God’s creation. According to the website of World Animal Day, the annual celebration hopes to improve the welfare of animals around the globe." So like any other day - go and hug your beautiful animal family members, and bless all other animals around the world. Meditate, go out in nature, connect with them, and send all animals around the world loving, healing and messages of thanks and being grateful for them. They are supporting us in many ways; we are discovering every day how they are supporting us as our friend, our familiar, and our teacher. There are many animals out there in the world who are in terrible situations and environment, being treated in ways we cannot even imagine. Please send them love and healing, so they know they are held and loved.
