25.01.2022 Design is more than making things look pretty. It's about balance, it's about style, it's about purpose, and it's about restraint. #twocatscreative #graphicdesign #gunnedah #paulrandquote #simpledesign
25.01.2022 It's Friday. You're allowed to be happy!
25.01.2022 Nothing gets us as riled up as a whole lot of rubbish!
24.01.2022 Kids, cats, something gross and oops - time for another Zoom meeting... is it over yet?
23.01.2022 This week, Sally Torrens features in the Lowdown in the Gunnedah Times. Sal's a pretty special person - and she has achieved gob-smacking success with horses.
22.01.2022 It's nearly Friday - and Two Cats are hanging in there! No home schooling for two whole days - maybe.
21.01.2022 Songs are such a solid link to memories. What are some of the tracks of your life?
21.01.2022 It's nearly 11am, not a great time to post on Facebook, but don't you ever sometimes just have to say what you want to say - right now? This morning, I (Marie) went to the Business Partner Program presentation to take some pics. Not my favourite physical pic-taking environment - low light, social distancing etc. But this morning's presentation was something special. A very eclectic group of business and community representatives - 45 different businesses and organisations wer...e benefits of the program this time. I really do think the smiles say it all in these pics. These people were happy to be together, happy to be there and happy to be doing something for their business and town. Two Cats have been successful in applying for this program before and it feels good to get a helping hand to do something new for the business we feel strongly about, and in turn, help our local people and economy. They're not my favourite ever pics, but up there with one of my favourite presentations! See more
21.01.2022 Time to chase the cows while you improve your work skills. If you are not enjoying your home, maybe its time to ask why... #viewfrommywindow #mycorona #coronavirusaustralia #mypandemicsurvivalplan
21.01.2022 Today, like many others the world over, we give thanks for our mums. They are the reason we are still here, in one piece. They have been there in good times and bad, in all kinds of life's weather. There will never be anyone who can make you feel the same kind of special as your mum. Happy Mother's Day. And here's a little piece of vintage Two Cats - with their mums!
21.01.2022 Thanks Gunnedah Shire Council for our grant in the Business Partner Program! Keep your out for new signage!
20.01.2022 We're still here! It's been a crazy time for all of us but Two Cats are still busy and open for business. Here's some of our own brand of crazy during Coronavirus (what's yours?): one self-administered haircut by four-year-old two major operations... one exhibition opening one milestone birthday (two this year!) having to put down a 17-year-old dog and five-year-old says "Buddi, you're going to be dead soon" as her farewell message. attempting to sell car with a palm-sized spider residing under the bonnet (complete with a large sack of baby spiders ) removing a rat from up a drainpipe (seriously) one bedroom renovation where the brief is "white" - "white, white! I just want everything white!" discovery that music is passe after you have just invested $350 in a keyboard one tattoo (far out, that one was a bizarre life decision) countless cancelled trips and celebrations. 20.01.2022 Wondering what sort of things our graphic designer Alyssa gets up to? Here's something she designed for our wonderful clients Gunnedah Conservatorium to use as the masthead for their newsletter, using Two Cats photos. Alyssa is a talented and experienced graphic designer who can craft something beautiful and unique for your business. And if it happens to need the written word, Marie can help you out there too!
20.01.2022 Congratulations to the Dorothea Mackellar Poetry Awards on their successful virtual presentation ceremony today. Both our Two Cats worked on the awards this year - Marie in media and communications helping to spread the word, and Alyssa created the theme and other designs including the 24-page presentation booklet. We are both so proud that the awards still went ahead this year and had an even higher number of entries than last year! What a great effort by the Dorothea Mack...ellar Memorial Society and everyone involved. The awards capture the imagination of young people around the country, and Gunnedah is truly lucky to be the home of this wonderful event. If you haven't seen the wonderful awards, head over to the Dorothea Mackellar Poetry Awards Facebook page.
19.01.2022 Happy 19th birthday to one of our Sirens - Yasmin! Here is the gorgeous Yasmin in a Two Cats pic taken just before her debut. Enjoy your day. x Yasmin Murphy

15.01.2022 While, as one of the businesses offering a prize, we aren't up to win Gunnedah Shire Council's great Start-Up Story competition, we would like to share our own start-up story. Here it is as told by Marie... As editor at the Namoi Valley Independent some years ago, I loved working with talented graphic designer Alyssa Barwick. When we teamed up for Sirens of Gunnedah, we found that magic partnership was worth forming into our own business Two Cats Creative pictures, words,... design. Getting close to two years later, we feel very lucky to be pursuing what we love to do most writing in my case and graphic design and web design in Alyssa’s, and the select bit of photography for us both. Our business, we believe, is built on honesty and authentic work, and we have great clients we work with daily. Gunnedah has been so supportive, we really feel that Two Cats belongs here. We are lucky enough to have our own office in Conadilly Street for the days when we are not working in-house with clients and there we talk about our ideas, big and small. It’s not easy to start a business. There are so many hurdles to jump, so many costs and sometimes there are setbacks. But it has been so worth it to have something to call your own and to help other businesses and community groups to achieve their dreams. If you have an idea, research and a practical plan for moving forward, you can do it too! See more
15.01.2022 "What is the meaning of our lives? Who's asking, bro? I got places to go." This is not a comfortable read, but it is an honest one. Some of us have looked into the dark corners in the past few months.
15.01.2022 Why I will never win Mother of the Year...

We love to celebrate all things creative - and bow down to truly inspired innovation. By the way, this is on Gunnedah's very own business site gunnedahsire.localised.com.au - it's free to join. cheers, Marie.
09.01.2022 Who else dreads putting up the tree? 40 + degrees, uninterested family members and tantrums all round. Here's what happens before the Insta photo goes up...
08.01.2022 Alyssa has been working hard on websites far and wide, including this one!!
08.01.2022 We get you Audrey... honestly, we do. But what happens when it's also Monday morning through to Saturday night?
07.01.2022 It's Friday! Somehow that Friday feel is a bit different these days... Two Cats are still getting dressed up in iso. What's your style looking like this Friday night?
06.01.2022 Every now and then you meet someone you find to be absolutely kind and caring. In Gunnedah, one of those people is our only female mayor to date - and longest-serving mayor - Gae Swain. Marie spoke to her for this week's Lowdown in the Gunnedah Times. #peopleofgunnedah
06.01.2022 Check out the wonderful design work in this mural at the Civic Cinema by Two Cat's Alyssa Barwick and featuring many pics by the Two Cats Alyssa and Marie. There are also lots of other pics - including great vintage debutantes! There are hours of fun in finding all the people you know here!
06.01.2022 Mittens - the next New Zealander of the Year? Who has a cat or dog out there who deserves to be Australian of the Year? Or two cats even?
05.01.2022 The camaraderie was fantastic. We lived and breathed news and sports and, to be honest, quite a lot of other air-borne substances... Is social media becoming the only media?
05.01.2022 About to start my career as a professional football player...
04.01.2022 While we've been focusing mostly on our passion project Sirens of Gunnedah launching in Lane Cove, Alyssa took some time recently to capture birthday girl, Hannah and her besties. Sunshine and sunflowers were the perfect birthday accompaniment
04.01.2022 Thank you Vanessa for this beautiful story!
03.01.2022 George Floyd is not just an American name. It's time we all took a look at the ugly truths in our own country.
03.01.2022 Marie is really loving the chance to tell someone's story in newspapers again. Once a week, she will be sharing a profile about a Gunnedah person in the Gunnedah Times in a section called The Lowdown - People and Places with Marie Low. What a wonderful opportunity to tell the stories people want to hear. In today's first edition, Marie talks to the beautiful Julia Rennick about her life to date - and what a whirlwind it has been! 01.01.2022 Two Cats have had an interesting history. This yarn from a year or two ago is the story of how Marie came to win Australian Horse Racing Picture of the Year quite some time back - to her amazement, as she stood at the awards ceremony without a clue among some of the finest sports photographers in the country. The pic that comes up is not the actual photo. You'll have to click on it for that.
01.01.2022 We've seen a bit of Sarah on the telly lately, but here she is in her Sirens role!
01.01.2022 Who's feeling it?
01.01.2022 Congratulations to the Gunnedah Times with the first edition out today. Two Cats are very excited to be part of this momentous day!
