22.01.2022 I just wanted to say thank you so much for a lovely stay at the Lyrebird Cottage. It was just fantastic, and we had a relaxing time. Josie did some birdwatching (she left a note with a few additional bird records) and we spent a bit of time looking for frogs- seeing some lovely Stuttering Frogs (see attached!). I certainly hope to be back soon! Thank you once again,

22.01.2022 135mm of rain over the past 4 days has left the Styx River with the biggest flow since we received 300mm over three days in February 2013.

21.01.2022 Beautiful viburnum and crabapple flowering in Jenny's garden at Platypus Cottage.

19.01.2022 A good fall of snow last Sunday & Monday at Two Styx! Thanks for the photos Rebecca!

18.01.2022 We had a lovely actioned packed stay. We celebrated our xmas, visited Point Lookout (son-in-law’s had not been there), walked weeping rock, fished in the dam and caught a small trout much to the delight of Brian our son-in-law. Kissed and released it. Rose at dawn to view the Platypus, who put on a awesome performance. Sat on the veranda and observed the splendid Hares, blue wrens & red robin. Visited Ian & Katrina Adams beautiful garden at Serpentine Station and the Trout H...atchery. We also had some hotly contested dart games. We all thoroughly enjoyed the cottage, it is a credit to you and your wife, you have a great set up. The kids all said I did really well to source such a great place. As children we had taken them to the National Park Chalet a few times and that’s where we had planned to go until we saw your sign and I googled your fabulous web site. So thank you for sharing such a beautiful property!!! See more

16.01.2022 Another frosty morning!

15.01.2022 Snow is on the way to Two Styx! Thanks for the map Rebecca!

10.01.2022 We loved our stay at Lyrebird cabin despite the miserable cold wet weather outside! It was all so clean and tidy with everything you need so thoughtfully and well organised in a small space. The wood fire was fantastic and kept us snug and warm. The brochures, magazines and puzzle kept us busy in the evenings and during the day we managed to duck in and out of the rain and visit the local beauty spots - Point Lookout, Ebor Waterfalls, Dorrigo Rainforest Centre and Dutton T...rout Hatchery. The property is beautiful, so quiet and we loved our very wet soggy walk past the shed, over the hill and down to the Styx River. The fishing? Very attractive streams and fishing spots but no comment except that of course we saw several rises in the dam as we were leaving! We definitely hope to be back sooner rather than later! 10.01.2022 Waiting for our bee hive to arrive from Honey Flow - another great Australian invention! "Turn the Flow Key and watch as pure, fresh honey flows right out of the hive and into your jar. No mess, no fuss, no heavy lifting, and no expensive processing equipment.... Through the clear end-frame view, you can see when the honey is ready without opening up the hive. The extraction process is so gentle, the bees barely notice at all. Our revolutionary Flow system makes the extraction process far less stressful for the bees and so much easier for the beekeeper."

07.01.2022 Yes, we had a wonderful time. The Cabin was everything one could wish for and more. We were really impressed with the attention to detail in every way. Talk about four star accommodation! I caught one Beautiful little rainbow (20 cm) and released it. We fished near the hatchery and only caught a three foot eel! We made few local trips, just enjoying the New England. The location of the cabin is so perfect, looking over the dam and watch the birds and wild life. Wallabys, Kangaroos, Hares, bunnies, etc. This is sure Gods country! Thanks again for given us the change to share your life style.

03.01.2022 We have just finished our campfire for Platypus Cottage. The timber came from a tree milled on our property about six years ago. All we need now is a camp oven, marshmellows and a recipe for damper! We are about to do the same for the cabins.

02.01.2022 Everything was great with the cabin. We were very glad to have the fireplace as we had to work in the rain (and got pretty wet). When we are up there we do small mammal trapping for a rare species called the Hastings River Mouse. We caught a number of them this trip, it seems they don't mind a bit of wet weather. They are probably scattered about in the Styx River Forest in small populations.
