25.01.2022 CFS disappointed about unauthorised fireground drone use On Friday evening, crews attending the Templers fire were made aware of an unauthorised drone being flown in close proximity to the fireground. "Firegrounds are incredibly complex and the unauthorised use of drones is not acceptable" CFS Manager of State Air Operations, Nik Stanley explained,... "During the Kangaroo Island fires earlier this year, we had to ground our firebombers and aerial support because members of the public were using drones. It was a massive waste of our time and resources. "While the operator complied with the CFS's request to cease using the drone on Friday, it was an added concern that crews shouldn't have to deal with, among all their other tasks and responsibilities while attending a fire." There is a strict 5nm (9.2 km) exclusion zone for all unauthorised aircraft around firegrounds. Breaching this exclusion zone, or interfering with aerial firefighting, is illegal, and can carry heavy fines if you are found guilty. Information on the rules around drone use can be found at www.casa.gov.au/drones/rules.

15.01.2022 Today marks the 5th anniversary of the Pinery bushfire. 2015 Pinery bushfire was a catastrophic bushfire that burned from 25 November to 2 December 2015, and pr...imarily affected the Lower Mid North and west Barossa Valley regions immediately north of Gawler in South Australia. At least 86,000 hectares (210,000 acres) of scrub and farmland in the council areas of Light, Wakefield, Clare and Gilbert Valleys, and Mallala were burned during its duration. On 25 November, during the major run of the Pinery fire, two fatalities occurred; Janet Hughes, 56, perished while fleeing in a vehicle outside Hamley Bridge; Allan Tiller, 69, perished while fighting the fire on a neighbour's property in Pinery itself. A further 90 people were hospitalized as a result of the fire, with five of the victims suffering critical injuries. The Pinery fire destroyed or rendered uninhabitable 91 houses, and completely destroyed 388 non-residential structures, 93 pieces of farm machinery and 98 other vehicles. Today we take the time to remember the 2 lives lost and their families, along with the many others who were greatly effected by the Pinery Fire. #SouthAustraliaBushfires #Pinery #PineryBushfire #CountryFireService #CFS #SACFS #CFSFoundation #CFSVolunteers #Brave #Incredible #Courageous #ThankYou

13.01.2022 Well, that was an interesting day !! Almost 100 appliances, and lots of crews - from CFS, MFS, National Parks and Forestry SA, along with Farm Fire Units, respo...nded to what is now known as the Cherry Gardens fire. The fire was (and still is) burning in difficult terrain, and in hot, and at times windy conditions. We have been out and about at this fire, taking photos, and have just got home (unlike many other crews still battling this fire), and will share many more of them, once we have had a chance for a snooze. This is crews on the Mt Bold Rd, Bradbury. Photo taken by CFS Promotions Unit.

10.01.2022 Yesterday Two Wells CFS responded to a fast moving fire that started at Templers. This is a reminder to clean up your properties and be aware of what's happening around you. Our 34 truck was damaged whilst fighting the fire. We have received a spare truck in the mean time whilst ours is getting fixed.

06.01.2022 Two Wells CFS would like to congratulate one of our own, Daniel joined in with the 1st ever burger eating competition at the new local Cafe, Bella Mia. He won by finishing his burger 1st out of 8 other contestants. Well done

03.01.2022 Thank you to the kind person that found and returned our photo. Stay safe!

03.01.2022 Total Fire bans declared as extreme for Mid North tomorrow.

03.01.2022 TOTAL FIRE BANS have been declared for 13 April 2021 in the following Fire Ban Districts: West Coast - Severe Eastern Eyre Peninsula - Severe Lower Eyre Peninsu...la - Extreme Flinders - Severe Mid North - Severe Mount Lofty Ranges - Severe Yorke Peninsula - Extreme Kangaroo Island - Severe Lower South East - Severe Where Total Fire Bans have been declared, very hazardous fire weather conditions are predicted. The Total Fire Ban will apply for 24 hours from midnight tonight to midnight tomorrow. The CFS recommends that you implement your Bushfire Survival Plan. FIRE DANGER RATING Where fire ban districts have a forecast fire danger rating of Extreme, only well prepared, well constructed and actively defended houses are likely to offer safety during a fire. Where fire ban districts have a forecast fire danger rating of Severe, well prepared and actively defended houses can offer safety during a fire. If you don't have a plan to ensure your survival, leaving early before a fire starts is your safest option. In making your plan, you should be aware that in high fire danger conditions, essential services including mains-fed electricity and water supply may not be available due to the prevailing weather conditions. Landowners are asked to adhere to local harvest codes of practice which are available from your local council. Landowners are also asked to ensure that any burn-off activities conducted today are fully extinguished before midnight tonight. Agencies are advised to activate their Total Fire Ban procedures in preparation for these predicted fire weather conditions. For further information contact the Bushfire Information Hotline on 1800 362 361 or visit https://www.cfs.sa.gov.au

02.01.2022 A grass fire? With a Watch and Act Message? In May? You weren’t seeing things today, and it was far from a drill, with over 80 CFS volunteers attending a grass ...fire at Gould Creek. The fire was reported at 12:10 and was caused by sparks from an angle grinder, burning through 8 hectares of hilly and inaccessible terrain, before they were able to halt it at 2:45 this afternoon. Even though it’s cold and we’re about to hit winter, we haven’t had much rain across the state and fires can still very quickly catch and get a run on. Please take care with any cutting or grinding equipment and also check the conditions before conducting any burns- our volunteers will be on hand if you need. We’d like to thank the other brigades that came to assist us today and especially our volunteer firefighters at One Tree Hill CFS for their amazing efforts today.
