25.01.2022 Hey tennis community! Come along to our first Christmas Twilight Market tonight from 5-9pm!! Please share this post too

25.01.2022 This week was the last coaching night for our amazing Squad Training group! We started last year with 4 teens and it has grown in popularity with the enthusiasm and epic coaching by coach Dale McDonald These kids have gone from no tennis skills to playing matches with long rallies and Saturday competition in only 6 weeks!! If you have a teen who wants to join the fun in term 1, 2021 get in touch!

24.01.2022 Saturday 5th Dec - Div 2 Two Wells 8 - 70 d Tod St 8 - 65 Finally allowed back on the court after what has seemed like an eternity, we played Tod St at home in very blustery conditions. ... We welcomed back Jenelle to the team this week. Her first game since round 1. She paired up with Andy in the mixed and they got the day off to a great start winning 6-2. CW and Kelly also had a good win and even though we lost the other two mixed doubles, they were both close 4-6 results, which would prove vital later in the day. Jake's awesome form continued into the singles, against a very solid and experienced player he prevailed in a mammoth 6-4 encounter. Kelly upstaged her highly rated opponent in true Kelly style.. playing so consistent in the very tough conditions. Jenelle battled away also claiming a close 6-4 win and CW rounded out the singles winners keeping us in the hunt. Going into the doubles the conditions were just getting worse, the wind got stronger, rain was threatening, it really was full credit to everyone who committed to the day. Halfway through the last matches a rain delay occurred halting all play for about 15-20 minutes. When play finally resumed Ward and Andy just fell short 4-6, CW and Jake finished off strongly to get the win, but it was our #1 ladies pairing Kelly and Airlie.. who were 1-4 when the rain delay hit, who stormed home to win 6-4 and seal the team win in the most exciting of finishes! Well played ladies!! All up it was a really tough day at the office, the most trying conditions played in, in a long time and full credit to everyone for their amazing efforts, and when the final score is 8 - 8 it just goes to show that every game counts!! (Andy & Ange ) Also a big cheers must go out to the handful of guys from the div 3 side who came out to support the day, was great to have your sideline support. Thank you guys Cheers CW

24.01.2022 Division 2 - Round 5 - 14th November Two Wells 9 - 67 d Virginia 7 - 69 Today we debuted 3 new players against fellow promoted div 3 side Virginia. Laura Webster, Nic Gunn and Jodie Gunn.. and what a week to get on board as we recorded our first win of the season!!... All 3 players were instrumental in achieving today's result. Laura teamed up with CW to win their mixed doubles and came from 1-3 to storm home in her single winning 6-3. While Nic and Jodie played their first match together winning a nail biting tie-break. Jodie also went on to win her single 6-3. Jake's outstanding form continued winning all 3 of his matches.. teaming with Airlie in the mixed and CW in the men's double he was rock solid, and his comprehensive singles win just shows how much he has improved and how well he is playing. Under an injury cloud all week Andy fought like the true trooper he is making every game count in his doubles with Ange and Nic, and getting that vital singles win that kept us in front toward the end. I hope you are not too sore tomorrow.. well done mate. Today's result really was an overall team effort. Played in as good as conditions as you could ask for.. a beautiful sunny day against evenly matched opposition who played in great spirits. Thanks again to the first gamers, we hope you all had enough fun to want to play again... soon.. As always the home made afternoon tea was outstanding.. those of us (ok.. me.. lol) who bought it just to have to take it home again cause it didn't get opened needs to have a good hard look at them self and put more effort into actually making/ baking something to keep our good afternoon tea high standards up. Cheers.. CW

21.01.2022 Round 2 -Division 3 Seniors - Friday 23rd October After a very windy Friday night, the rain stayed away and Two Wells and Xavier battled it out at Two Wells. Every match last night was played in great spirits without any complaints and lots of laughs by all competitors. ... A big thank you to all members of Xavier who came out in trying conditions but played the game in great spirit and both teams laughed and had a great night. A huge thankyou to Ken Tran, Cohen Jones, BP Prior, Chelsea Foubister and Chantelle Micallef for coming out and filling in or offering to shorten their dinner to come out to play singles. You guys are amazing and we are so happy to have you as part of our team. Unfortunately we fell 4 games short of the win, but there we some absolute awesome matches and I don’t need to name individuals as win or lose, its all about having fun. Final score Two Wells 8 sets 64 to Xavier 8 sets 67.

20.01.2022 Great to see a couple of Two Wells Seniors joining in the fun

19.01.2022 Two Wells 5-42 lost to Xavier White 11-78 Last game before the Christmas break and we head to Essex Park for the first time this season on a balmy Friday night to play the 'in form' Xavier White team. Our hosts jumped away to a perfect start winning all the mixed doubles with Andy and Tegan getting the best result of 3-6. ... Andy was outstanding getting our first win on the board in the singles, Ward's consistent form continued with a solid performance winning 6-1 and CW rounded out the singles winners. Special mentions go to Jake and Airlie for their excellent efforts against their highly experienced opponents. Their improvements over the course of this season is awesome to watch. Keep it up guys The Xavier White ladies are a very strong line up and really showed this powering away in the doubles. Thanks to Chelsea and Tegan for stepping up for our team tonight. And poor coach Kelly had the toughest gig of us all playing the association's best player (Xavier are trying to seek permission for their #1 lady to play against the men) thanks Kelly, it was weird not seeing you play a tie-break. Ward and Andy go into the break in hot form as they were clinical in winning their double 6-1, while Jake and CW fought from 3-5 to claim their biggest and best win to date 7-5 in an enthralling contest which kept everyone on the edge of their seats.. and up later than everyone would have liked. Well played Jake.. each game is getting better. Cheers for everyone who has filled in so far, guaranteed you will get hounded... umm I mean asked by me to do so again at some point. And for the magnificent 7 who commit every week thank you all, you're the best and I'm looking forward to just playing div 2 from here on in. Have a great and safe Christmas all and see you in the new year. Cheers CW #twowellsontour #combatwombatout

18.01.2022 Round 2 v Kapunda Friday 23rd October Two Wells 1-32 lost to Kapunda 15-98 Friday Night Lights!! After watching the BOM all day preparing (praying) for a washout, the weather held off giving us a beautiful night for tennis up in Kapunda. ... We knew from the outset these guys are a div 1 side and it was all going to be about having the best hit and having as much fun as we could... while we could.. And thats exactly what we did. Ward and Kelly's fantastic form continued from a results point of view, Ward winning our only set in his single 7-6, Kelly getting 3 games in her single and combining with Dale in the mixed to fall short right at the end 6-7. The efforts of Jake, Airlie, Andy & Ange were just outstanding, and you can already see their improvements from playing against tougher opponents. Well done guys. Massive thanks go to Brooke (1st ever games of tennis) and Marie for stepping in to the side at the last minute to ensure there were no forfeits. It was also great to have a cheer squad in Damon and Karen who popped by to see us for the first time since last year's grand final.. so good to see you both. Thanks Kapunda, you were a lovely host, but we'd like to play a div 2 team now Until next week, cheers CW

16.01.2022 Round 1 ~ DIVISION 2 Two Wells 6 - 58 def by Willaston 10 - 81 Our Div 2 debut was against last seasons runners up Willaston. ... The first notable difference was we start the day playing the mixed doubles. Coach Kelly and Combat Wombat got our first win 6-3, Ward and 'rising star' Jenelle getting our second winning a marathon tie-break. Young guns Jake and Airlie just falling short after a terrific start. In the singles it was Ward again firing up winning 6-4, CW jagged a lucky victory and surprise surprise Kelly won a tie-break!!! Andy, Airlie and Jenelle all had narrow losses. Super sub Phoebe jumped in and teamed up with Ange and even though they didn't get a win.. we would have been absolutely lost without them.. thanks so much for stepping up today. Ward capped off a perfect day having a big win with Andy in their double but that was all the joy we had in doubles. It was so good to be back on the court, was a great day played in great spirits. And as always the biggest winner was the afternoon tea!! Until next week. Cheers CW

12.01.2022 Great night at Essex Park for Two Wells Div 3 tonight vs Willaston United. Was a great all round team effort to win 14 sets to 2 and 85 games to 23. Even though Willaston United were 1 player short, Two Wells were very solid across the board. Great to see Dale Groth back on the court in 2 doubles matches for 2 wins after injury lay off, also big thanks to Kelly Smith for filling in for 2 wins also. It was also great to see Cohen Jones get wins under his belt and build some ...confidence, great job buddy. 09.01.2022 Senior Div 3 Results - Saturday 19th December Two Wells hosted Willaston United at Two Wells on a perfect day for tennis. After the first 4 games of doubles, Two Wells held a 3-1 lead with the ever reliable pair of Kane and Lachie winning 6-0, Dale and Craig after a slow start kicked into gear to win 6-2, Chantelle and Pug had a solid 6-2 win while our superstar girls and the team who has the most fun unfortunately went down 2-6 ... The singles was very lop sided with Two Wells winning 6 of 8 matches included a brilliant effort by Pug getting up over Cliff in a tie breaker. In the final doubles Two Wells picked up 3 wins with Tracie and Craig giving Willaston United pair a head start and never really catching up to go down 1-6 Final score Two Wells 12 sets 78 games and Willaston United 4 sets 43. Thank you to everyone who came out for support, Mel, Paula and the kids, always nice to have a support network on the side lines and the superstar photograper Claudia for the photos she took. 04.01.2022 Division 2 - Round 3 - 31st October Two Wells 1-35 lost to South Lyndoch 15-96 Back at home on a blustery Saturday afternoon. We debuted 2 new players against South Lyndoch. 'The Sharpshooter' Greg Tapscott came out of retirement after 30+ years and Tegan Tiss. They both battled hard on the court and provided great fun and laughs off the court, which fits our team dynamic perfectly!! Thank you both for helping out. Hope we can call on you again down the track.... On the court it was another tough day, Jake being our lone set winner in a marathon single 7-5. Great reward for all the hard work he has been putting in this season so far. Ange also put in a monster effort in her single just falling 4-6. And Airlie also just not quite getting the reward on the score board, but her performance against a crafty and experienced opponent was awesome. Now it wouldn't be a normal Saturday if Kelly didn't play a tie-break, and she didn't disappoint teaming with Airlie going all the way in their double but just fell short 6-7. Afternoon tea was as always the big winner on the day with everyone enjoying Andy's impossible pie, Ange's tim tam slice, Marie's sandwiches and cream cakes, Jake's (Tracie's) cheese and dip platter, Kelly's fairybread style jelly slice and Wombats sweet potato and bacon slice. *note all recipes available to anyone who 'fills in' This week we have the bye. Everyone enjoy the week off!! Cheers CW

01.01.2022 Another valuable committee member that was farewelled at the recent AGM is our Vice President Kerri Bastiaens. Kerri and Jon with their daughter Lexie came to the club in 2017 with no tennis background at all but a willingness to learn everything because their child wanted to play tennis! Keen to be part of the club, Kerri put her hand up for Vice President and has excelled in the role as a back up for chairing meetings, creating a website and risk management document, atte...nding tennis conferences and awards nights, helping to manage junior teams and starring as our welcoming person with her beautiful smile With a bit less time in her life these days, Kerri will still be around the courts to help where she can and we are blessed to have gained her whole family as Two Wells fans! On behalf of all members of the club we would like to thank Kerri for her hard work, the amazing skills she brought to the club, being brave to learn about tennis, lifelong friendships and a beautiful smile See more
