16.01.2022 Day one at the Festival, great weather and great racing. Tim managed to get pole in the 250 Inter and 3rd in the first race. Rod had break problems in qualifying and started from the back. In the first race he came home 5th and broke the lap record. Good work boys. Day two looks like the weather will change and be wet, good luck.

15.01.2022 Awesome day back racing at the Island on Saturday for round 3 of the Victorian Superkart Club Championship. Tim’s first run with the VM engine. The pace he got from the package was amazing and actually got into the 1.32s. Rods run in the Stock Honda was good with a win for the day. Can’t wait for the team to be back in 2 weeks at Phillip Island at the 30th Island Magic event and the Victorian Clubs Gold Nugget event.... 14.01.2022 Not long now and we are back on track!

13.01.2022 Official timing today shows Tim set the fastest outright lap time at Mac Namara Park. 1.08.790 set in race 2. Not bad for an 18 year old Rotax. The lap

11.01.2022 VSKC Round 6 - New Track Record Set at Broadford Raceway A new record has been set around Broadford Raceway, again flaunting the speed and talent of Superkarts ...in Australia. Tim Clarke has shown how quick his two-cylinder Rotax / Anderson can go at Round 6 of the Victorian Superkart Club Championship, beating the existing record by .2 of a second with a 56.138 the fastest any vehicle has lapped the venue. Mixed conditions proved tricky for the day, with cold temperatures, sun and showers displaying talent and close racing in all categories. Dunlop Junior Max Challenge The Dunlop Junior Max Challenge was the trickiest of all races to bet on a winner, but Lucas Quattrochi showed how well his sprint circuit experience counted. James Strah and Hayley Thompson mounted challenges on Quattrochi all day, Thompson the only one able to get a Race win away from him in the Wet Final. Quattrochi took a half a lap lead early in the final race with a mistake free run as it showered, leaving the Juniors on slicks on the icy wet track. Hayley Thompsons comeback was impressive enough though, charging ahead in the final laps to win and leave a huge smile on the familys face. Finn White and Kobe Veld Battled in 4th and 5th in all the races as Whites ill handling kart kept him on kart cleaning duties, but his consistency rewarded him with 3rd place for the day. Veld isnt far from being in podium contention with a stellar drive in the wet conditions. We cant wait to see what these young drivers have for us in the upcoming Rounds of the Dunlop Junior Max Challenge at Phillip Island. 125cc Gearbox Open Interstate drivers Lee Vella and Blake Purdie had the Victorians on their toes, making the 125s some of the most action-packed racing for the meeting. Nick Schembri Qualified pole from Marc Hugelshofer by a commanding .5 of a second, but after some great pace early on in the session, championship contender Brad Tremain retired with cylinder damage, putting him on the sidelines for the rest of the day. Race 1 saw the closest of battles with Hugelshofer proving theres nothing wrong with his Short circuit TonyKart chassis, taking his maiden win from Lee Vella and Gary Pegoraro. Nick Schembri was dicing hard and slowly pushing his way forward after a tame start, but an error had him off the track in the wet grass and out of contention with a DNF. A quieter race in Race 2 showed Schembri back up front with some dicing again. Blake Purdie was back challenging for the lead after a slower race 1 but it was Vella who came out on top ahead of Hugelshofer, making the 5 way fight up front spectacular to watch. Race 3 was a confusing affair with a shower of hail before the race, wet enough for wet tyres, dry enough for slicks to stay in touch. Hugelshofer was an early retirement with a broken chain, while Purdie took an early lead from Schembri on wet tyres. Schembri eventually got by Purdie who was hustling around with fuel pump gremlins but maintained his 2nd place standing ahead of Vella on slicks. Schembris win bought him back into podium contention for the round. The Final was again a battle of the brave, half the field on slicks and the other wets, this time slicks was the better option. Vella got a small break with Schembri in pursuit, but Vellas pace too strong for the field to keep up. Hugelshofer again snuck his way forward, making the most of Purdies mechanical dramas making it a battle for second place. Schembri did all he could to hang on to Hugelshofer until the very last corner, getting a run down the hill to the finish line for second. Gary Pegoraro rounded out the top 5 to get some valuable points and push him onto the podium. Overall Vella Took the days honours with Purdie in 2nd and Pegoraro 3rd with Hugelshofer. Schembris mistake dropped him down the order but still allowed him to gain points in his quest for the Club Championship. 250cc International The stunning speed of the Twin Cylinder 250s were on display and showed aspiring drivers how to manhandle them around a more technical track. Tim Clarke dropped the Lap Record with blistering speed over Jamie Macdonald in Race 1, as he did in Race 2 with a 12 second lead by the finish line. Race 3 threw a spanner in the works, Macdonald negotiated the tricky wet conditions brilliantly, winning comfortably over Clarke as he tried to level the scores. It was later discovered Clarke had an engine lock up and spin, a sign of further mechanical dramas to come in the day Heading into the final, it was do or die for both drivers and again the track was damp. Macdonald took the lead in the beginning, Tim biding his time as the track slowly dried. After a few laps of pushing to pass Macdonald, Clarke got by and tried to take off, only slightly edging away. Just when everyone thought he had the weekend tied up, his old Rotax let him down with a bottom end failure finishing his race prematurely, handing Macdonald a cruise to the finish line and honours for the day. Looking ahead it will be great to see both these drivers topping the charts at the upcoming National Festival of Superkarts at Phillip Island in Mid-August, with a larger field anticipated for the fast-flowing track. 125cc Stock Honda Shane Varley has made it his weekend to remember taking his Maiden Round Win. Heading into the event National Champion Jeff Duckworth was the favourite, and showed supreme pace as he narrowly took Pole position over Varley. Duckworth took Race 1 win with Varley sussing out his rival, 3rd place getter Jarrod Lethborg making his long-awaited comeback to racing after a lengthy break off track. Race 2 in the dry gave Varley his first win of the day after Duckworths sprocket dramatically sheered from the axle and left him on the sidelines, while Lethborg, Tom Roe and James Elliott kept each other honest in 3rd and 4th. A soaking wet Race 3 had drivers scrambling to get their wet tyres on and Varley showed his wet skills to take a staggering 36 second win from Duckworth, Tom Roe again sneaking up into podium contention with a 3rd place and valuable points. The most exciting race of the day for Stock Honda was the Final, the mixed conditions again had all drivers gambling on what tyres to run. Duckworth this time looked as if he had made the right choice skipping away on wet tyres to a comfortable lead, but Varley didnt give up on his slicks as the track slowly dried leaving a narrow line of opportunity to sneak back up. The final 3 laps were dramatic as Varleys slicks heated up and he chased down the 10 second lead, everyone on the edge of the fences waiting to see if he could make it. Duckworth defended bravely but he couldnt hold off the charge from Varley with as little as 4 turns to go. Varley took the win thrillingly with Lethborg rounding out the top 3 and taking 2nd outright for the day. Tom Roe was stoked to step into 3rd after Duckworths misfortune and loss of points earlier in the day while Elliot rounded out the Top 5 after negotiating new changes to his chassis. Non-Gearbox Light As anticipated, Russ Occhipintis comeback to Non-Gearbox racing was outstanding, but was challenged heavily by Sanuja Perera each race in wet and dry conditions. The competition was dense all weekend with South Australian drivers making their way across, but not quite able to steal the spotlight from the locals. Patrick Ross and Hayden Veld showed excellent pace all day but were unlucky to take a win in each of the races. The unlucky story of the day was Jai Azzopardi, in wet conditions carving up the field each race Unfortunately being caught up in mid-pack tangles and causing him to DNF. Occhipinti took out the day with a clean sweep in all races but Pereras haul of points should prop him further up the order in the absence of reigning champion Schembri. The confidence of Perera, as well as Veld and Ross will prove for some amazingly close racing in the upcoming National Title at the Festival in Phillip Island. Non-Gearbox Heavy Colin McIntyre was the class of the field around Broadford, not allowing any chance for his competitors to get up front. Rod Clarke made early attempts at the lead in most races but couldnt hold pace, eventually losing out in his 2nd place battle with Jeremy Crust all weekend from a slipping clutch in the Final. The wet conditions in the end allowed for some enticing battles between Warren Thompson and Brendan Kloot in their bid for the podium points, with Thompson getting the upper hand, although finishing their weekend in a fight for 4th place overall. The Next Victorian Superkart Club Race is the National Festival of Superkarts @ Phillip Island August 17th/18th hosting the Stock Honda and Non-Gearbox National Titles as well as showcasing the most Superkarts youll see at one event this year.

05.01.2022 As we listen to the AFL and NRL trying to work out when they can get back to their games we wonder about our own motorsport and racing. We have all been doing t...he right thing with our social distancing, the curve is flattening and should be right in three months time. Most sport that can still do some sort of distancing should be back and running by the end of July. So, we are pleased to announce, 110 days from now the biggest Superkart event of the year will be ON at Phillip Island bigger and better than ever! (Subject to Government regulations or guidance in relation to the current COVID-19 Pandemic) That aside put August 1st & 2nd in your diaries as the return of National Superkart racing. The 2020 National Festival of Superkarting is back with its split classes, (three groups of racing,) affordable entries and hopefully some prize money as well. This event will have the Superkarts as the headline act, something you wont see anywhere else. Start talking to your friends, teammates and interstate rivals, this is our chance to kick back into motorsport with a bang. Lets show all the other sporting movements out there how big Superkarting can be by making this the biggest meeting at Phillip Island for karts ever. Keep watching out for entries which will come out extra early. See more

05.01.2022 Round six of the VSKC Championship this weekend, hope the weather stays nice Nearly ready.....

04.01.2022 Broadford records Tumble after COVID Superkart Break Race Report VSKC Rnd 2 All the winners of Round 2 of the Victorian Superkart Club Championship proved that ...consistency is key, as lap records tumbled at the Superkarting comeback after the long COVID break. The new track surface in Central Victorias Broadford Raceway brought out some of the quickest racing seen in years. The weather forecast was dire but all drivers were pleasantly surprised to have dry and quick conditions after qualifying, breaking records by up to 2 seconds in the 125cc Open Gearbox Class. Kiwi Bradley Tremain showed class in 125 Open, setting the pace all day in his TM powered Woodgate Evo chassis taking wins in races 1-3 in front of Nick Schembri on his tail. Jack Wynack was fighting hard to keep in touch with the lead duo, exemplifying his skill and experience in the Tony Kart Sprint Chassis. The Final race of the day was heated, with multiple lead changes between Tremain and Schembri, the two swapping lap records lap after lap. Wynack kept the leaders on their toes until the final laps, where a mechanical drama took Tremain out of the race and watching his clean sweep hopes fade away. Schembri kept his head down in the DEA powered Anderson kart, unbeknown to the pressure relieved from behind, taking a comfortable win from Wynack to take the Round honours. Tremain remained on the podium with his stash of points from earlier in the day, while Brad Stebbing proved his potential in the new Anderson Kart, snatching a deserved top 3 from Colin McIntyre who was eager to jump on the podium with consistent 4th place finishes. The New Lap record for 125cc Open Gearbox now stands at 57.653 by Bradley Tremain Non Gearbox Light had the young guns under the older drivers skin, with Kobi Williams and Hayden Veld showing off up front after keeping their skills sharp on racing simulators over the break. Front Runner Sanuja Perera was an early casualty for the day, unable to add to the close battles up front. Kobis consistency gave him top honours for the round, although Veld kept his cool under pressure in the final, narrowly Winning and putting a dent in Kobis clean sweep. Darren Ridd and Jai Azzopardi shared a couple of 3rd place finishes between them, while it was exciting to see Sprint Kart and Motorsport Veteran Nick Parker have a crack in Superkarts, looking like he has pace and experience to burn if we see him on track again soon. Martin Anderson and Sean Cotterill spent most of the Day learning and mastering the tricky Broadford Circuit for the first, at times proving its challenging nature, undulation and runoff areas, gaining valuable experience before the next rounds at Broadford and Phillip Island. Kobi Williams New Lap Record stands at 1.01.231, eclipsing the old record by 0.8 of a second. With only two entries in Stock Honda, the drivers treated the day as a test session and spent laps together attempting to better their race craft and speed. Rod Clarke shared his wealth of Experience with Tom Roe, which made for an interesting and entertaining Final race together, each sharing the lead from one another at times and proving strengths of each driver. The camaraderie and fun was evident albeit the small number of entries, but data and experience invaluable for the upcoming National Festival of Speed in August. Brendan Kloot took his first Round Win in Non Gearbox Heavy after a surprising win in the final race. After crossing the line 2nd from Weekend Pace Setter Jeremy Crust, a post race penalty handed the consistent Kloot his maiden win. A Round win and lap record becoming an elusive theme for Crust, heat wins and dominant pace in 2020 is looking promising heading into his National Title campaign in August. Rob Strah joined the podium as he continues to gain experience and is becoming even more competitive, creeping closer to the leaders each race meeting. The Dunlop Kartsport Junior Max Drivers put on the show of the day. Ayrton Fillipi dominated the mornings qualifying and races, while fellow pocket rockets Lucas Quattrocchi, Finn White and James Strah kept the racing close. By the time the final came around, Quattrocchi found his pace again and challenged Fillipi all race long. Lapped traffic mixed the front runners up on the last laps, both drivers taking unconventional and determinedly desperate race lines in a thriller race. It all came down to the final straight as the two slipstreamed down to the finish line, Quattrocchi taking the win. It wasnt enough to take the outright win from Fillipi but was a race for both drivers to savour. The fight for the 3rd step of the podium was almost as intriguing, as White and Strah fought to their strengths, one with straight line speed and the other with in-field pace. The constant and clean position swapping had anyone guessing whod come out on top, in the end Strah getting the better of White and taking home the silverware. Anthony Nariman rounded out the top 5 in his first weekend around Broadford showing consistency and improvement all day Ayrton Fillipis impressive pace not only earned him #1 for the round, but a Lap record to his name with a 1.04.509, just shy of 3 Seconds under the previous Record. The New surface of Broadford Raceway improved some of the class records astonishingly and has narrowed the gap between the fields, adding more eagerness of drivers to get on track again in July before the National Festival of Superkarts on August 1-2.

04.01.2022 Preview: Victorian Superkart Club Round 6 This Weekends Round 6 of the Victorian Superkart Club Championship is looking to be huge, with 45 karts taking on Broa...dford Raceway. Incorporated into the event is the Dunlop Junior Max Superkart Championship, with Lucas Quattrochi and James Strah looking to battle it out, but not far behind will be Kobe Veld, Heyley Thompson and Finn White hoping to take honours and build on their championship standings. 125cc Open Gearbox is the biggest field racing, looking to be spectacular with some of the Top Drivers in Australia, and the world, duking it out. The experienced Gary Pegoraro will be pushed hard by championship leader Nick Schembri, fresh after his Podium finish at the British Superkart GP last month. Brad Tremain has upgraded his Woodgate EVO Kart to challenge for championship points, but interstate guns Blake Purdie and Lee Vella could throw a spanner in the works with their recent pace, making this race the one to have everyone rushing to the fences. The dark horses will definitely be Marc Hugelshofer and Steve Tomlinson with the knack to sneak onto the podium at recent rounds. Stock Honda National Champion Jeff Duckworth will mix it with the 125s and surely prove why hes wearing the #1 plate, but Shane Varley has been inching his way up the podium lately and isnt too far away from challenging for championships. The 250cc karts will be aiming to break the Broadford track record again, with Tim Clarke getting his old Rotax on tune and reigning Champion Jaimie Macdonald throwing his experience around up front. Raff Pironti will try hanging on in his 250cc Single Cylinder, getting plenty of laps testing before the upcoming National Festival of Superkarts held at Phillip Island in August. Russ Occhipinti is making a return to 125 Non-Gearbox Light but will get a rude shock with Sunny Pereras pace of late and mastery of Broadford, while the Heavy category will ensure entertainment with Rod Clarke and Colin McIntyre trying to fend off Jeremy Crust from his elusive First Round Win. Spectator entry is free this Saturday 13th July for those wanting to come along, with the event being only 45 minutes North of Melbourne on the Hume Highway at Broadford state Motorcycle Complex. 03.01.2022 2019 Festival wrap up. A little late as we had a phone malfunction. A great weekend of racing with some really big fields. Tim managed to take the Hoosier Pole position, and finished second for the weekend after demolishing the field in the torrential rain by 16 seconds in the final race. The search for a little more outright pace continues. Rod managed to get on the podium at yet another Nationals by taking third and the lap record for NGB Heavy.
