20.01.2022 It is with deep regret that we advise members of the passing of WWII Veteran, Burnie Mudge. Burnie passed away in the Brisbane Waters Hospital at the age of 98. We convey our sincere condolences to Burnie’s wife Elaine and family.

19.01.2022 On next Saturday morning, 13 February, we will have our first monthly meeting for 2021, commencing at 10:30. Come along and share in our friendship.

16.01.2022 Monday morning saw the presentation of a certificate to commemorate 50 year membership with the RSL to George Craven. The presentation was made by Ray James, OAM, Acting President of RSL NSW. George has been eagerly awaiting this presentation and almost didn’t make it when he was hospitalised after a fall. Glad to say that his condition improved rapidly. Our sub Branch executive were also given an opportunity to quizz Ray and CEO RSL NSW, Jon Black, about the RSL’s Strategic Plan and other matters. Pictured is George with his certificate, Ray James, sub Branch President Terry Saxby and David Ferry, Vice President of Central Coast District Council.

13.01.2022 Our Anzac Day Dawn Service was another great success. A big thank you to all the veterans, their families and the members of the public who attended. A big thank you to Peter Franks, pilot and owner of National Helicopters, who gave another magic fly past and an opportunity for veterans to recall the magic sound of the Huey. Some photos of the event.

13.01.2022 I have had numerous people ask me how many attended the Anzac Day Dawn Service. They say a picture is worth a thousand word. I think Jim Picot’s photo says it all. It was great to see veterans, families and youngsters attend and take great interest in the commemorative service. Our thanks to you all.

12.01.2022 Owing to the Central Coast bout of wet weather and the forecast of further rain on Thursday, it has been decided to postpone our Veteran’s Health Week Event planned for 29 October. We will advise the new date of the event once it has been decided.

12.01.2022 Our thanks to all who participated or supported this successful event.

11.01.2022 What sort of twisted mind would do this to a War Memorial. On Thursday evening the Terrigal Foreshore War Memorial was vandalised with graffiti. It was an un-Australian act to desecrate a memorial dedicated to the thousands of men and women who sacrificed their all for the freedom we enjoy. I hope that the transgressor will be found out and harshly dealt with by his or her peers. Lest they forget.

09.01.2022 Our Anzac Day 1100am service was successfully held at the Breakers Club War Memorial. Our thanks to all those who participated and attended the service. Our thanks to the the Board and staff of the Breakers Club for their support. Some photos of the event.

06.01.2022 This video was recorded by our Executive Vice President, Peter White, on the significance or Remembrance Day for our local Public Schools to screen.

06.01.2022 For those of you with a sweet tooth and looking for a novel commemorative gift to a veteran you can’t beat this one. Once again granddaughter Leigh has topped the lot when she had WWII Veteran Sergeant George Craven‘s medals cast and decorated as biscuits as a tribute to her Pop. What a wonderful way to commemorate and remember Remembrance Day.

01.01.2022 News Update on the Terrigal Dawn Service. Thanks to Peter Franks, owner and pilot of National Helicopters, who has generously agreed to do a flypast with his UH-1 Iroquois Helicopter at our Dawn Service. Those who have attended previous Dawn Services will appreciate the significance of the flight and this warbird to our veteran community. At the dawn, be on the look out for Peter as he flies silhouetted by the sunrise towards the shoreline.
