24.01.2022 POTENTIAL MILESTONES Here is a list of some of the milestones that might fall this season - a few good ones have already been knocked off. #nipnip
24.01.2022 BEST BATTING AND BOWLING - ROUND 7 Our best batting from round seven belonged to a maiden ton for Jack Whitehouse, who nearly managed to steer the 3rd XI over the line. Our best bowling went to James Buckley, with his best figures for the club, setting up a 6th XI win that drops them back into the four. Sorry for the photo - had to go deep into Facebook to find one!... Well done lads! #nipnip
24.01.2022 BUNNINGS BBQ We're lucky enough to have a premium date for our Bunnings BBQ as they return to Bunnings Hastings. Contact Buzz to book in when you can work a shift - we need five people per shift to comply with regulations. #nipnip
24.01.2022 It's time to start thinking about your cooling needs for summer, and Pact Heating & Cooling are here to help! As well as permitted maintenance activity, they are available to talk about what you need to protect yourself from the heat this summer. As well as supporting our club as a major sponsor, Pact is full of great Tyabb people, including long time committee member Dan McLean. Support the businesses that support our club. ... #nipnip
23.01.2022 PLAYER SPONSORSHIP We're starting to order player sponsor shirts (after sponsor has paid), so now is the time to get your details in. Great design this year, so you're going to want to get one. If you find a sponsor that can chop out just $100 for a senior player or $60 for a junior player, you get a free training shirt, and they get their business advertised on the back, as well as on our screens in the club and our business directory. ... You can even have a friend or family member sponsor you, and they can choose what goes on your shirt! Drop your details here: https://bit.ly/TCCPlayerSponsor Message the page if you have any questions. #nipnip
22.01.2022 RESTRICTION UPDATE We had some good news with further restrictions easing on the weekend. Masks are no longer required outside, but will still be required inside the clubrooms (although the rooms are not being used other than for access to toilets). Training groups have now increased to fifty, meaning we should be able to all train together. We still need everyone to check in using the QR codes around, or using the link bit.ly/tcccheckin (bookmark on your phone for easy acces...s). Thanks to all our players, parents and supporters who have done the right thing to help us get to this point - we're almost completely back to normal, which is a great relief! #nipnip
22.01.2022 SPONSOR APPRECIATION - GAZZOLA FARMS Tonight we're thanking Gazzola Farms, who came on last season as a sponsor of our training shirts. 22.01.2022 CRICKET VICTORIA - RETURN TO TRAIN AND PLAY A few of our committee attended a webinar last night reviewing the latest Return to Train and Return to Play guidelines, based on the current road map of restrictions easing. It should be noted that this is based on our return to training being October 26th, and return to games on November 14th. Any changes to restrictions moves some of these goal posts. These conditions refer to the start of the season, and some will be relaxed as... restrictions change. While it is frustrating to continue to sit on our hands, we are hopeful there might be some expediting of restriction changes shortly which might allow some small groups to train leading up to the official return to training. Our nets are continued to be locked up (public net is open) until we can put in place procedures to ensure they can be used safely, and we can track the usage of the facilities. Contact Patrick if you have any questions. #nipnip
21.01.2022 SPONSOR APPRECIATION - BEACHSIDE VOLKSWAGEN Another sponsor to thank today - appreciating one of our major sponsors Beachside Volkswagen For more than 20 years the friendly staff at Beachside Volkswagen have been selling and servicing new and used vehicles in Frankston, the Mornington Peninsula and surrounding region.... Their state of the art modern showroom and large display areas allow customers to casually browse the great range of Volkswagen Passenger and Commercial Vehicles. Their friendly staff are specialists who are proud of their association with Volkswagen Australia, and look forward to assisting you when searching for your new or used vehicle. Get in touch with them on (03) 9783 8200, drop into their site on Dandenong Road in Frankston. www.beachsidevw.com.au 9783 8200 #nipnip
20.01.2022 JUNIOR CRICKET - ROUND TWO A big weekend of junior cricket too! Perfect conditions at the Pond for the Under 16s team at home tonight, so Joe is throwing open the canteen. Action starts at 5pm All other games are away, but if the Yabbs are in your neighbourhood drop down to show them some support!... #nipnip
20.01.2022 GIRLS CRICKET AT TYABB As we get closer to getting back to cricket, we're taking registrations of interest for Girls Cricket once again. We have a couple of girls committed and ready to play, but we need a few more numbers to get it all together - so share this with your friends and get them involved! Register your interest here: https://bit.ly/yabbies20202021... The girls play a mid week, afternoon comp, which is a fun and accessible format. Cricket is one of the fastest growing girls and womens sports, and it's a great fun social game for summer. Once we have the numbers, we will open up registration etc and get things moving! #nipnip
20.01.2022 20% off all cricket gear at SportsPower Cranbourne - great deal and a great opportunity to support one of our sponsors! #nipnip
19.01.2022 MPCA UPDATE President Jack Alford had a meeting with the MPCA last night. There wasn't much in the way of updates, with the only major change being that we are likely to be playing some one dayers with red balls in the top grades. We are still waiting to find out what is going to happen with juniors - they might start at the same time or a couple of weeks later. ... Stay tuned, we will provide more updates when we can. #nipnip
18.01.2022 CRICKET BLAST AT THE POND We're running our successful Junior Blast program again this season, with things progressing nicely towards cricket starting in November. We are still not sure when the program will start, but it looks most like having some happen before Christmas and the bulk after. If you sign up now, you get your Cricket Blast kit, including bat and customised shirt, delivered so you can start the fun at home during school holidays. ... The program is an introduction to cricket for five to seven year olds, and teaches basic throwing, bowling, batting and fielding skills, as well as general sporting and social skills for kids. Sign up here: http://bit.ly/playcricketattyabb We would love to see our younger kids from last year returning, and plenty of new kids who might have missed out on their winter sports. #nipnip

16.01.2022 ROUND EIGHT Round eight teams are all selected, and we have incredible numbers available again - some senior players have had to miss out, despite all eight teams being on the park. Round Eight is sponsored by one of our new sponsors, GEKKO electrics. Gekko Electrics expertise comes from 15 years of experience. With our expertise we can accommodate all of your electrical needs, no job too big or small. Gekko Electrics work with some of the most prestigious builders in the Mo...rnington Peninsula. 16.01.2022 RESTRICTIONS UPDATE This is to update our members on the changes to restrictions coming in tonight. Unfortunately, there is nothing affecting our ability to train or play coming in tonight, but Step Three restrictions have been brought forward to 19th October, pending case numbers. This means we will potentially be able to train from this date, which is a great result. Whether this affects the slated start of the season on November 14th will be determined by Cricket Victoria... and the MPCA, in conjunction with the relevant authorities. Watch this space, as things are moving quickly. All we can do is to stay the course, stay safe, and look out for the people around us. #nipnip
16.01.2022 SUPPORTING THE YABBIES - FUNDRAISING As we rattle along now to the start of cricket season, there are plenty of ways you can support the Yabbies in this season that will throw up plenty of challenges for us. We appreciate that times are tough for some people, but there is something on the list that everyone can do to help us along this season. SPONSORSHIP... If your business, or the business of someone you know is able to, consider a sponsorship package starting at just $500. Any followers of our Facebook page would see how we value and promote our sponsors and the great contribution they make to our club. http://bit.ly/TCCSponsorshipPackages PLAYER SPONSORSHIP If club sponsorship is a bit much to commit, for just $100 you can sponsor a senior player, or for $60 a junior. We have a few past players who use this to support a current player, which is a great way to stay involved with the club https://bit.ly/TCCPlayerSponsor GOOD4CRICKET RAFFLE We are taking part in the Good4Cricket raffle, which costs just $5 a ticket with all proceeds coming back to the club. There are national prizes on offer, as well as prizes just for Tyabb tickets. https://bit.ly/yabbiesgood4cricket ENGAGING ON FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM Even if you can't contribute monetarily, you can help us broaden our reach by engaging with our social media. By liking and sharing posts, you can help us expand our reach and attract more players, and give more exposure to our sponsors. Doing both of these things improves our club going forward. Thanks for everyone for their continued contribution to our club. #nipnip
16.01.2022 USING NETS UNDER STEP 2 RESTRICTIONS We have had confirmation from a couple of sources about the use of cricket nets. Public nets are OK, noting that there is no club-sanctioned training occurring - these are to be privately co-ordinated by up to five people from up to two households located within 5km of the nets. The main grey area was around using our bowling machine. Unfortunately we are unable to use the machine, as this constitutes the use of club facilities. The bowli...ng machine will be back with full training after the 19th, subject to Metro Melbourne moving to Step 3. Hang in there everyone, two and a half more weeks and we will see you all out there!. #nipnip
14.01.2022 PLAY CRICKET AT TYABB With the lovely weather around this weekend, it's a reminder that now would have been about when practice matches started - but things are looking positive for a start to training in October and a start to matches in November. We would love to welcome new senior and junior players to our club - we have seven senior teams catering to people of all abilities and backgrounds, and junior teams in every grade plus a Junior Blast program for beginners. No exp...erience is necessary - it might be a great chance to get into a new sport after missing winter sports. Senior cricketers can register their interest here - someone will get back to you when we have more concrete details about the season https://bit.ly/yabbies20202021 Junior registration is open, and you can get signed up with this link http://bit.ly/playcricketattyabb Comment or PM any questions you might have. For our current players and families, share this with your friends who you would like to see at the Pond this year. #nipnip
13.01.2022 JUNIOR CO-ORDINATOR - BEC ROBINSON We're very lucky to have Bec Robinson on board as our junior co-ordinator for the upcoming season. 08.01.2022 T20 ROUND ONE - TYABB v BALLAM PARK We will get our T20 season underway tomorrow night against Ballam Park - we're competing just against Subbies clubs for the initial rounds this year, so we should be in for some very good contests. We have a few first time T20 players in the team, get around them and get down to the club to support. Training is optional for everyone not playing. #nipnip
08.01.2022 TRAINING FEEDBACK - SURVEY As part of our striving to get better all the time, we are running a quick survey on what our players want to see from training in 2020/2021. While training will definitely be different at the start of the year, we want to implement things that make training as fun and effective for our players as possible. Head to http://bit.ly/tcctrainingfeedback to fill out the survey - it should only take a couple of minutes. Leaving your name is optional - obv...iously if you have some good ideas, we can only follow up if we get your name. PM the page for any more info if required. #nipnip
07.01.2022 STATS OF THE DECADE - MOST OF EVERYTHING This could be a wrap on our Stats of the Decade - a Staturday Night special featuring a mixed bag of the most of every stat. If anyone has any stats that they want to see calculated, let us know and we will see what we can do. ... #nipnip

06.01.2022 TYABB CRICKET CLUB NEWSLETTER - ROUND SEVEN - SPONSORED BY GAZZOLA FARMS Link to newsletter: http://bit.ly/tccnewsletter09-20202021 Catch up with all the action from our return after Christmas - we brought home five wins from eight, with the 1st XI picking up a very important win against ladder leaders Carrum Downs. ... Round Seven was sponsored by Gazzola Farms. Gazzola Farms is an Australian Family owned and operated Company. They have been a part of the Vegetable industry for 3 generations and have been growing at their current locations on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula since 1992. They pride themselves in growing and marketing our quality products to local, interstate and export markets all year round. Doing their utmost to meet our customer's specific requirements. #nipnip
06.01.2022 Saxon Sports Frankston have launched their new online store - they're always a great support for the club, helping us out with odds and end and hosting us for pre-season each year (except this one!). As well as all of your normal gear, they have maroon pads available to order, as well as being the only joint from here to Frankston to stock cream pants and not just white! www.sportsarena.com.au... Support the businesses that support our club! #nipnip
05.01.2022 ROUND SEVEN MILESTONES Two milestones for 1st XI players in their win against Carrum Downs on the weekend. Paul Nelson got to 50 club wickets, most of which have been taken in the 1st XI. Paul made a return to the club last season, and has become an important part of our team with both the bat and the ball. ... Michael Edwards is one of our most consistent 1st XI players, making over 300 runs in each of his seasons at the club. His 28 batting down the order was important in getting us to a competitive score, which the bowlers defended well. Congratulations on the milestones lads! #nipnip
04.01.2022 PAST PLAYER PROFILE - DAVE BEWLEY Bewgs is our latest past player to be up for a profile. As well as an all round good bloke, Bewgs served the club for many years on the committee. A career highlight was a gutsy knock batting at 11 in the 2nd XI where he got the team over the line - one wicket wins are always ones to savour!... #nipnip
04.01.2022 1st XI DEBUT - MARCUS SCHAPER Always exciting when one of our incredibly talented youngsters gets the callup to the 1st XI, and this weekend Marcus Schaper will make his debut in the 1st XI as cap number 521. Marcus started with our In2Cricket program in 2009, joining Tyabb because the day of the sessions didn't work at his local club. Marcus had a splendid junior career, contributing to three junior flags and getting a taste of senior cricket early. After being best on in tw...o Grand Final losses in the 3rd XI and showing his big game mettle, Marcus cemented himself in the 2nd XI last season and was part of the premiership team. Usually facing an interrupted pre- and early season, this year Marcus has been able to train with consistency and has reaped the rewards. Always a free scoring middle order bat, and an electric fielder, Marcus' bowling has gained some penetration and he will look to contribute to the 1st XI in all facets of the game. Congratulations Marcus, everyone at the club knows you will represent the club brilliantly. Get around the young fella! #nipnip
02.01.2022 BEST OF ROUND ONE This weekend would have been round one under normal circumstances, and the weather yesterday would have resulted in plenty of unexpected sunburn and chasing of hats across the field. Until we get started (and maybe after) on or around the 14th of November, we're going to look back at some of the best batting and bowling for each round from the last ten years. ... Our best Round One batting performance was from Luke Marotta, a well documented innings featuring an absurd twenty sixes down at Tyabb Central. Plenty of great performances in there, but worth mentioning Azza Edwards, whose 85 on debut for the club was the highest first up score for anyone in our 1st XI. On the bowling front, there is always an opportunity for a bag in Round One, with scratchy batsmen liable to give their wickets away. Brandon Klein-White went on a tear against Dromana, taking wickets right through the order in a big win. Nathan Riddle's performance was one of the great tail moppings - after Heatherhill's opener tonned up, Nath took the opportunity to rattle through the middle and lower order for a very efficient five-fa. #nipnip
02.01.2022 CLUB SPONSORS Our website has been updated with all the latest contact details and info on our sponsors, so it's a great time to remind yourself about all the great companies that support our club! Head to http://bit.ly/TCCSponsors to get up to date with all of what our sponsors are all about. ... If you know a business that might be interested in sponsoring the Yabbies in 2020/2021, send them this link https://bit.ly/TCCSponsorship20202021 or share the whole post to them. Keep supporting the businesses that support our club! #nipnip
02.01.2022 GOOD FOR CRICKET RAFFLE Cricket training could be as little as two weeks away! Obviously things will be very different off the field as well as at training, and our fundraising will be a little more challenging than normal. So if you are able to contribute, we would love to get as many people involved with the Good For Cricket Raffle as possible, as all proceeds come back to the club. If you can share with friends or family, every little bit helps. ... Tickets: https://bit.ly/yabbiesgood4cricket Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far, we have raised over $700 which really helps tick things along. Hang in there for two more weeks, and we will hopefully see everyone soon. #nipnip
