10.01.2022 Adult English Outline Objectives They are pitched at a fairly high level for working people with graduate or post-graduate qualifications who wish to hone their language skills so as to enable them to leverage such skills to move up the corporate or professional ladder. This is in recognition of the fact that it is language skills that enable managers, supervisors, and senior executives to hold their own. Without language, one would not be able to process the work of subordin...ates or improve on their copy. Whether as architects, engineers, accountants, teachers, etc. language skills are paramount in the course of their work. Course content 1) How to improve one’s language skills for self-enrichment and professional advancement 2) Understanding the nature of Australian English and the culture that underpins it. (This is important if one is to blend into Australian society) 3) How to write and edit letters, reports, proposals, and others 4) Recognising language as an instrument of power, influence and control. 05.01.2022 2021 ANNOUNCEMENT We will restart our face-to-face classes in Term 1, 2021. Students who attend classes must be masked and they must ensure that they do not have any Covid-19 symptoms.... We will open on Friday 22 January 2021 and Saturday 23 January 2021 for collection of fees and enrolment. The office will be open from 10am - 5pm on both days (with a lunch break between 1pm-2pm).

05.01.2022 2021 VCE English Units 1,2,3 & 4 Year 12 1) Classes on particular texts will be conducted depending on demand.... 2) Analysing Argument & Language are available in Term 1, 2 & 3: For Term 1 & 2, four lessons will be devoted to Oral Presentation. For Term 3, all 10 lessons will cover Analysing Argument & Language Year 11 The year’s study consists of four modules to prepare students for Units 1 & 2 with a view to ready them for Units 3 & 4. The first three modules will cover Analytical Interpretation of a Text and Comparative Analysis of Texts. The final module covers Analysing Argument & Language. The texts to be used for Analytical Interpretation of a Text and Comparative Analysis of Texts will probably be different from those chosen by your school. Importantly, they are past VCE texts which will serve as reference texts to teach and impart generic skills to equip students to analyse any given text in future. This program and approach to teaching Units 1 & 2 has proved very successful over the years.
