21.01.2022 Don’t forget, it’s easy to keep track of your water usage and avoid large water bills by registering your property and your business property on council’s free myh2o website at www.myh2o.qld.gov.au.
21.01.2022 myh2o in action!
20.01.2022 Watch the flow of your H2O > In the past month, council issued 814 notifications to property owners who had a water leak on their property of more than ten litr...es an hour. If these property owners had been registered on council’s free myh2o website, they would have received a text message or email alert within days of the leak occurring, saving money and water. Signing up is easy simply go to www.myh2o.qld.gov.au and enter your property details. Don’t forget, you can register your business and investment properties as well. Rental tenants can also register, and a request will be sent to the owner to allow you to monitor your usage. See more
17.01.2022 Watch you water use and save > As we head into our seasonal dry spell, now is the time to be vigilant with your water usage to save money and water. Did you ...know your sprinkler can use up to 1000 litres an hour? It’s easy during the drier months to use more water than normal without even realising. This extra watering could push your usage over the allocated 150 kL and into the higher charge bracket. Keep an eye on your daily water usage using council’s free website www.myh2o.qld.gov.au. You can set your water consumption targets and be alerted if you go over. You can also be alerted to water leaks, which can be costly if not detected. #watchtheflowofyourh2o

13.01.2022 Mackay Regional Council's Council s award-winning water-saving software, MiWater and myH2O will enter a new season of success under a commercial agreement struck between Taggle Systems and Mackay-based software firm, Tyeware The internationally recognised software has already made an impact across Australia, now being licensed to 20 water utilities with interest expressed also from international markets. "The MiWater initiative has been an incredible success story for the... Mackay Region." The MiWater software has managed over 3-billion water meter readings across these clients, used for analytics, leak detection and customer billing. The software also includes a portal for customers to view and manage their own water consumption, which for Mackay residents can be found at myh2o.qld.gov.au. The agreement, endorsed by Mackay Regional Council on 24 November 2018 and executed on 29 March 2019, sees the commercial rights for the MiWater suite of products sold to Taggle Systems Inc under a partnership agreement with Tyeware who have designed, developed and supported the software since 2012. The MiWater initiative has been an incredible success story for the Mackay Region, says Tyeware director, Steven Tye. This agreement will create economic benefit for the Mackay Region, and establishes a platform to take home-grown innovation to the rest of the world. Tyeware is in its 12th year of operation, and employs eleven local staff operating from their office in River Street. This agreement will create economic benefit for the Mackay Region, and establishes a platform to take home-grown innovation to the rest of the world. Taggle Systems is the Sydney-based provider of wireless technology that turns normal water meters into smart water meters. They are the Australia’s leading provider of low powered wireless solutions for utilities, processing more than 3.6 million transmissions per day. The collaboration between Tyeware, Taggle and Mackay Regional Council has also produced innovative solutions for sewer monitoring and alerts as well as landfill management, for which Mackay Regional Council has also received national recognition. As a result of this agreement, Taggle and Tyeware will take a greater responsibility in the continued development and marketing of the MiWater solution. Mackay Regional Council’s vision and leadership in this area will continue to shape the solution for many years to come. The MiWater solution has also been a key component in a number of water utilities’ initiatives to reduce water loss, save on electricity and engage more closely with their clients. Utilities like SA Water and Narrabri Shire Council have recently received national recognition for their projects which have included the MiWater solution.
