19.01.2022 Alright Friday night Aerobitches, the time has come. For those of you not going home after work tmrw, here's what you need to know: Covid: We have done what we can within Fringe's restrictions to make you all safe and comfortable. Choose a floor circle to dance in or a chair to sit on, and do your best to stick to it, but hey, once the music starts we can't stop you. You're gonna be close and you're gonna sweat. If that concerns you, maybe talk to us about other arrangements.... Don't dance with a drink in your hand. And don't wipe your sweat on anyone who hasn't consented. Except us. Wipe away. Interactivity: YES the show is fully interactive, however, it's your body and your choice. Limited seating is available and you can choose to participate as much as you want. But hey, we can DANCE now! Dress: Think 80's glam fitness (or just 80's, just glam or just gym)... essentially wear what you want, but the more colourful the more FUN! Time: Show starts at 10:45pm. Arrive at 10:30pm. There's a quick hangover between shows so we HOPE to start on time. Venue: House of Spaghetti, 134 Hutt Street (the old Bendigo Bank). It doesn't look much for the front, but look for the lonely Front of House person standing out the front. Bar: Tis very much open. We are a poor artist's collective and it helps us if you spend money! Our licence runs to 1am so don't run away, have a boogie with us afterwards! Controversy: I don't think there's much... But we are political, and we have opinions... but hey, it's also satire. Boo to cancel culture. Enter at your own risk! WE CANNOT WAIT TO HOST YOU! I'm extremely honoured to partner with this week's NGO and social enterprise - Thai Freedom House / Free Bird Cafe / My Best Life CNX - and so I'd love to tell you a little bit more about them... Don't forget, 50% of this week's class donations will go directly to the organisation! I have known Lisa Byrd (and have previously volunteered with Thai Freedom House) for the whole six years I have been living in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The organisation is one o...f the most consistent and valuable NGOs I have worked with, and Lisa is one of the most dedicated and hard working people I have ever met. "At the moment, through Thai Freedom House we are raising money to continue our efforts to support refugees and migrants from Burma who returned to the border area and are stuck, unable to return home to Burma or to Chiang Mai with no work to return to. They and their whole families are suffering because the money they usually send home every month has also stopped. These are truly dire times for the ones who were already the most vulnerable. Thai Freedom House has been serving this community for 14 years consistently and reliably and has no plans to stop, but we will need help as the social enterprise businesses that usually support us are also suffering at our vegan restaurant Free Bird Cafe and zero waste store, My Best Life CNX. We have faith that the community will continue to support and hold us up during this time. Thank you all for your contribution and innovative, fun ways to raise money for us.
