06.01.2022 A good tip 4 ingredients My 4 ingredient posts show 4 ingredients I have included in a meal. These ingredients do not form an entire meal, they are simply part of a meal and I share them to foster conversation and inspire pet parents to feed a variety of ingredients on rotation. Freshly ground raw Pumpkin seeds are rich in anti-oxidants, healthy fats, fibre, magnesium and zinc and a great source of vitamin E and B’s.... There are no rules as to how much to give but a guideline is 1/4 of a teaspoon per 5 kilos of body weight. Organic virgin coconut oil - a medium chain fatty acid, as it is easily metabolised it can become an immediate source of energy which can be a good fit for performance dogs. Coconut oil is largely used for skin and coat but also can assist with digestion and help dogs in their weight loss journey. There are no rules as to how much to give but a guideline is slowly build to 1 tablespoon per 15 kilos of body weight. Mixed berries - I get mine frozen. They are defrosted and then smooshed making them bioavailable - the likes of a blueberries may be poo’d our whole if they are not smooshed. Berries are a great source of anti-oxidants, vitamins and minerals, phytonutrients just for starters. There are no rules as to how much to give but they are sugary so a good guideline is to keep them below 20% of your plant matter ratio. Shrimp - I get mine frozen and feed every now and then. They are a good source of omega-3, anti-oxidants, rather rich in selenium and copper.
