17.01.2022 Cygnet U3A is suspended due to coronavirus. Unfortunately we have made the decision to suspend activities for the remainder of Term 1. We really regret this but as the virus is spreading so quickly we believe we need to be cautious. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will keep you informed. Book Club will be conducted online and Lyn Glover will be emailing those members who participate. Also the Writers Group will continue online with David Sands in contact with his people. The committee may be emailing the members from time to time with suggestions on how to keep busy in isolation. We will all do our best to stay healthy and safe. Thank you
01.01.2022 Cygnet U3A is starting 2020 with some fantastic talks in our Smorgasbord of Talks. We have a great lineup beginning on 4th March with a continuation of information from COTA Tasmania where we get more details on aged care. Services are available but you need to know how to access them. This is the time to get that info. Next we have Alison Pitt talking about Human Rights in Australia. A very controversial subject right now. Next Michael Holmes will tell us all about Tasmania'...s Vanishing Towns. Sadly all countries have towns that seem to disappear and Tasmania is not immune to this. An interesting perspective on the why's . Mike Pook will discuss Climate and Weather, what every country is going through right now are extremes, and Australia seems to have it really bad. Should we expect it to just get worse every year? Bring your questions. We have talks for 10 weeks in the Term 1 Program. A Smorgasbord of Talks is every Wednesday at the Christian Life Centre, 8 Mary St, Cygnet. 01.01.2022 Wednesday, March 5 began our Garden and Gourmet visits for our Term 1 program, and Fat Pig Farm in Glaziers Bay was just wonderful. Sadie introduced us to the vegetable beds, poly tunnels, olive orchard, while saying hello to the farm pigs and goats. We were met by the lovely Perenese Mountain Dog at the door, then off to tour. A lovely tea was at the end with more info from Sadie about the farm and the restaurant. Really a lovely day.
