22.01.2022 Why has U3AC closed classes and groups at the Marchant Centre? (There are people who think we’ve jumped the gun) This is what the Premier said... He encouraged vulnerable people to stay at home and avoid having visitors. If we had the Marchant Centre open we would have to comply with the 1 person per 4 sq metres rule and that would be difficult. We think it is better to be safe than sorry. We are after all regarded as vulnerable

21.01.2022 Good COVID-19-safe General Meeting at the Marchant Community Centre yesterday.

18.01.2022 We are currently putting together the Prospectus for 2021 and hopefully it will be ready by the end of the month. It should be possible for actual copies to be distributed through classes and groups and distribution points then. Unfortunately I have not managed to find a ukelele teacher so that group will not be happening. We are still on the look out for a new venue for Circle Dancing but our fall back there will be a smaller group running out of the Marchant Community Centr...e. There are some changes to existing groups. Some groups have decided not to re-commence, and so in effect there will be fewer. Other groups are utilising a changed format. A newsletter is planned for the end of the month and an enrolment form will be made available with the newsletter and the prospectus. Classes will observe COVID-19 restrictions and so may be smaller than they were at the beginning of 2020. Enrolments will take place in early December. Some good news- fees will remain the same

15.01.2022 I’m looking for a copy of Agatha Christie’s THE MYSTERIOUS AFFAIR AT STYLES for someone in my Agatha Christie group. Does anyone have one on their bookshelf?

15.01.2022 Thinking about setting up a Philosophy group. There is one at Adelaide U3A which is run by the participants. I am wondering about holding a session early in next term where members could come to indicate interest and find out what would be involved. What do you think? Maybe a Wednesday morning?

14.01.2022 We celebrated Get Online Week 2020 this afternoon along with 17 other people from U3A South Australia.

10.01.2022 Here is what I know (I think..) I expect the Prospectus to be delivered on Friday. The Premier will likely announce the lifting of all restrictions from next Tuesday. Glenda will probably email the newsletter and enrolment form out on the weekend. So the Marchant Centre will probably be open from next Tuesday for classes and groups, collection of Prospectus, enrolment form etc. ... You will be able to drop off your enrolment form (or post it) any time after that. More certain than that, I can’t be See more
