11.01.2022 We on our last day in Laos, off to Hanoi this evening, we arrived here on an ATR72 propeller aircraft (something different). Here are some pictures of our stay. We visited many temples, which were some of the most amazing Buddhist temples I have seen. We boated along the Mekong River, the "Mother River" of Southeast Asia. Visited small villages, Buddhist Caves, Morning markets and we got up early to give food to the Buddhist Monks as they walk the streets every morning, "a so...mewhat humbling" experience. We visited a Moon Bear rescue center where the bear are cared for when found in illegal trade, sadly the cannot be released back into the wild as they will just come back to the villages and captured again, this was followed by a visit to Tad Kungsi the local water fall where some of us had a swim in the limestone pool, quite a beautiful place. Again the food here has been amazing, we ate at a restaurant on the river where Barack Obama had lunch. I hope you enjoy the photos. See more
