16.01.2022 Beyond Visual Line of Sight Trial uAvionix Australia conducted their first Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) trial in partnership with V-TOL Aerospace in December 2017. The uAvionix ping20s and FYXnav-B were fitted to the V-TOL GosHawk UAV surveying and mapping platform. With an endurance of nearly 3 hours and a range of 180km plus, the GosHawk's utility & value is significantly enhanced by the fitting of the ping20s, where permitted.

11.01.2022 uAvionix Australia successfully completes Vektor Airport Surface Vehicle ADS-B system testing at Sydney International Airport uAvionix a leading provider of communications, navigation, and surveillance (CNS) solutions for manned and unmanned aircraft announced today it has successfully completed testing of the Vektor Airport Ground Vehicle ADS-B transceiver at Sydney’s Kingsford Smith International Airport. The tests were conducted in coordination with uAvionix Corporatio...n, the Sydney Airport Corporation Limited, and Airservices Australia. The tests were necessary to confirm that Vektor conforms to the pulse and spectral requirements for ground vehicle transponders. Airservices Australia found no known issues and stated the Vektor is fully interoperable with their Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control System (A-SMGCS). This is a first for the industry in that Vektor requires no Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) exemptions to allow it to be used in Australia. Read more: www.uAvionix.com.au/news/

04.01.2022 uAvionix ADS-B solution implemented by V-TOL for disaster management in South West Pacific Cyclone Gita Category 4 Cyclone Gita hit Tonga in February this year with winds up to 233km/h. Gita was reported as the worst cyclone to pass so close to Tonga in 60 years causing widespread and severe damage. Emergency response teams struggled to assess damage around the capital on the main Island of Tongatapu. As a result, the Brisbane based V-TOL Aerospace Disaster Response Team was ...deployed by the World Bank with the support of the Australian Government with their GosHawk II UAVs to survey the Tongatapu Island Group.
