22.01.2022 Thank you all for a wonderful day at the Geebung bowls club today. Everyone looked great all dressed up to the nines ! A big thank you to margie and dee for assisting with the set up and pack down of the hall and to those that travelled a long way to join in the with the festivities of the day. The Croatian community centre have hired there seats out and they will not be back until mid next week. Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause. 19.01.2022 Hi Everyone, I have some great news... From Monday 7 September we will be relocating the Oxley classes to The Croatian Club, 210 Dunn Road, Rocklea. (Only 7 minutes away from the Oxley club) ... Both classes will remain the same times Monday Morning, 9.00 - 12.00 Midday Friday Evening, 6.00 - 9.00 pm This change means we will have more than enough space to maintain the social distancing requirements as we navigate our way through this time of Covid. It also provides us with what I believe is one of the largest dance floors available in Brisbane. The additional space available to us means we can have up to 79 people on the dance floor at one time allowing 2x2 meters between each person. There is also an additional space that will allow for tables and chairs that will not impact the dance floor.It really is a fantastic venue that will be able to service our needs for dance classes, socials and any future events. I'm really looking forward to continuing dancing with you all at this new venue. Please note our final dance classes at the Oxley club are on Monday 24 August Monday 31 August There is no dancing on Friday 28 August or Friday 4 September. We also have our all request Gold Coast social coming up at William Duncan State school - Highland Park, Sunday 30 August. 1.00pm - 5.00pm Also a large venue that offers plenty of space to dance. I’m simply overwhelmed by everyone’s well wishes and generous gifts received over the last week from the final classes and socials for the year. 19.01.2022 ### Class cancellation - Oxley, 31/07/2020 HI Everyone, There have been quite a few people pull out of tonight's class due to concern regarding the outbreak of covid 19 in Brisbane. I'm therefore making the decision to cancel tonight's class. I will continue to monitor how the breakout is being managed and what this will mean for the future of the classes. 14.01.2022 Hi everyone ! We had the pleasure of Ben Harris attend class last night and teach us some of his new choreography - make it to me , 32 count , 4 wall intermediate dance. Please note that previous attendees of this calls have already been registered for this class. We are starting our socials this week! Yay ! Saturday - MItchelton Senior Citizen Centre 1-5pm Sunday- Wiliiam Duncan State School - Nerang 1-5pm All request socials - all levels catered for. $15.00 Numbers strictly limited to 50 people only and you must pre register if you would like to attend. please send me a private message on messenger or a call/text message on 0411846990 to register. I would hate to have to turn anyone away at the door if we are at capacity and you arrive without pre -registering first. 09.01.2022 Hi everyone Hope your all having a great week so far ! Just a few reminders for you all followed by some class info for you ... Don’t forget to vote in the Australian line dancing awards ! I know it may not seem right to be doing this at present while so many classes are still closed due to Covid 19 but you can vote in as many or as few categories as you like. There is nothing wrong in voting for your favourite dances pre Covid ! Use the following link to cast your votes ! Please , please , please where possible if you are unable to make a class that you have booked in for the more notice you can provide me the better chance I have of filling the spot for that session. I am aware there are different circumstances for everyone but not everyone has had the opportunity to be offered a place in the classes because of the 1-2 hour notice periods I’m currently receiving. Thank you in advance for the consideration Class info ****** We are currently looking at how we can reinstate classes after the announcement of the phase 3 regulations earlier today. While capped numbers may have been lifted for small group gatherings we are still limited to a maximum capacity depending on the size of the Venues where we have classes. As part of the latest restrictions (22nd August) for Brisbane and surrounding suburbs QLD Government we are happy to say due to being under an industry COVID Plan we adhere to all of the necessary restrictions. Under the announcement we will highlight the following section; Businesses, activities and undertakings If your business is operating under a COVID Safe plan, you are not affected by the latest restrictions announced on 22 August 2020 for the Greater Brisbane and Ipswich areas. This includes businesses operating under a COVID Safe Industry Plan, a COVID Safe checklist, COVID Safe Site Specific Plan or COVID Safe Event Plan. You are reminded to ensure that your staff and customers observe social distancing, ensure customer details are retained, and ensure that any staff or customers who are showing any symptoms do not enter your premises. 07.01.2022 Hi there... Just a reminder for those attending Wednesday Morning mitchelton class. Meals on wheels are having there AGM from 12.00 midday tomorrow which means we can only have one dance session tomorrow from 9-11... We will have a few more attending class from session B while still keeping within our Covid safety plan. 05.01.2022 Thank you all for a huge weekend of dancing ! Friday saw the first chill out social held for our upper beginner / improvers - 3 hours of non stop dancing with the floor full for most of that time, The Mitchy Saturday session was a great afternoon of mixed level dances with a keen group getting there monthly social fix. I was fortunate enough to be able to chat with many of you and dance along side some of you while Ben Harris took the reigns to lead you in some dances and t...oday we were down the coast at William Duncan state school with a great crowd of people, once again dancing up a storm of dances old and new. Thank you for the love and support you all show to these socials and also a big thanks to those who assisted with the set up and pack down. I also need to say a big thank you to my Partner who supports me in everything and is happy to be the person to sit behind the scenes but will make sure I am organized and able to concentrate on the dancing - thank you Matt ! Coming home this evening to a tidy house and a 3 course meal was totally unexpected and such a treat to finish off the weekend! I am truly blessed! Thank you all See more

What we are preposing at this point is to extend the Monday Geebung class from 1.30 - 4.00pm. This would be broken down into 2 sessions. 1.30-2.30 Raw beginner. 2.30 - 4.00 pm as improver. ( improvers are welcome to attend the raw beginner session but please be aware the first hour is designed for absolute beginners ) We will be advertising the beginners class and expect that while social distancing is in play we may have an influx of people wanting to learn. If we do not have any beginners in this session we will be able to to start the improver session early. Tuesday class at Geebung would be from 1.00pm - 4.00 pm. This would also be broken down into 2 sessions. 1.00 - 2.00 pm Improver. 2.00 - 4.00 pm Intermediate. The first hour of the class will be designed for the improver bridging into intermediate. We are still looking at options for the remaining classes as well as options for socials as we move into recovery phase 3.
