22.01.2022 Watch out for Mustard Algae Easy enough to treat but the problem with Mustard Algae which has quite reputation is stopping repeated infestations. What does it look like? Fine darkish yellow dust like particles that can easily be brushed from either the floor or walls. However, if not treated correctly, the yellow dust reappears in a day or so in the same place. Mustard Algae spores can remain dry for months so the pool is reinfested easily.... Also decontaminate all pool equipment and filter Treated today:-

16.01.2022 Dont forget to regularly clean your cartridge filter or robotic filter. Cartridge elements need regular cleaning to ensure water clarity and cleanliness. Old and clogged filters reduce water flow and may end up damaging the pump. Also, elements dont last forever and should be replaced after a maximum 18 months If robotic cleaner filters arent cleaned often, the robot cant clean properly, and ultimately, damages the motor and gears and reduces the life of the unit.
15.01.2022 Many pool owners at some time or other have been confronted by the sight of their usually pristine pool turned into a sickly green frog haven. A green pool is a daunting task to set right without the correct measures applied: if not handled correctly, many hours and expensive chemicals may only result in the pool remaining cloudy and far from sanitary unless you know what you are doing. At UberPool Perth we have over six years of industry experience dealing with green pools t...o rapidly get your pool back to sparkling clear blue water with the least possible expense to your pocket. (NB. if your pool is green, sending photos from your phone will greatly help in quickly determining what needs to be done to get your pool back to a sparkling condition). for more information, visit our website: http://www.uberpoolperth.com.au/ See more
15.01.2022 Think the old sand filter that youve had for 10 years -- or more -- and should be good for years more and never had a sand change? And if you could just take a peek inside ... The images below shows just how horribly dirty - and smelly -- sand filters become after about 10 years. Sand filters become clogged over time and are not just a health hazard but result in impeded water flow from the pump and can also damage a pool pump due to the undue strain in pushing water throug...h a heavily clogged and hard sand media. It is good practice to change the sand after 5 years and after another 5-7 years -- change the media filter itself - dont add new sand again as the laterals may crack and you wont know it until sand is pushed back into the pool via the return pipe. And better still, use glass with the new filter for crystal clear water and reduced water when backwashing. Glass media will last the life of the filter 12 hears or so if undercover. See more
15.01.2022 How do I benefit from installing a solar pool blanket? Heating your pool A primary benefit of a solar cover is that it collects the UV rays from the sun heating the air inside the tiny bubbles on the underside of the cover thus transferring heat into the water of your swimming pool. This can raise pool water temperature by anywhere from 4-8 degrees Celsius.... Preventing evaporation, equipment failure Most people are not aware but the more water that evaporates from your pool the more heat energy you lose as well. In other words, evaporating water chills the pool water. A solar cover creates a barrier against the air which stops your pool water from evaporating, keeping that heat energy in your water. Another important factor is a cover will help to prevent equipment failure. If the water level drops below the bottom of the skimmers due to evaporation and your pumps suck in air you will quickly damage the pump. Covers also stop leaves and debris clogging the skimmer box which leads to reduced water flow and insufficient chlorine production (for a saltwater system) Also, potentially costly pump damage as well. Save $$$ hundreds on your utility bills You will no longer have the incessant chore of putting the hose in the pool to top up the water level and your water bill will reduce remarkably a solar pool cover use can reduce the amount of make-up water needed by up to 50%! As the pool is covered, the sun does not kill off anywhere near as much chlorine thus your chlorinator uses less energy thus reducing electricity cost as well. Reducing chemical consumption As water in your pool evaporates, some of the pool chemicals in the water go with it. Those chemicals need to be replaced in order to maintain proper water balance, which is exacerbated by constant topping up of water. This can reduce your chemical consumption by up to 60%. Blocking debris A solar pool cover atop the waters surface prevents falling leaves, grass, insects and other debris from entering and dirtying the pool. Cleanup is faster and easier by simply hosing or use a leaf blower debris to one side and scooping what remains from the top of your cover. Importantly, less debris means less consumption of chlorine, keeps the pool water cleaner and lessens the load on your filter and pump. Extending the Swimming Season Insulating your pool with a solar cover keeps the temperature high and can easily extend the swimming season 6 weeks or sometimes 8 weeks either side of summer. That means an additional 3 months extra in the year that the pool is utilized doubling the swim season! Making a more self-reliant pool By reducing evaporation and chlorine consumption, there is less chance of water flow blockages or the level dropping too low, which means less regular supervision. This is especially beneficial if youre away, on holidays, or just very busy. Visit our website: http://www.uberpoolperth.com.au/
13.01.2022 Pool tip: Equipment shattered by exposure to strong sun and rain While it may be convenient to simply leave the pool equipment such as chlorinators, pumps and filters exposed to the sun without any cover protecting from rain and harsh sunlight, the results can be devastating. It is advised to cover your pool equipment at the very least to block the sun. Pool equipment covered and protected from the elements will last far longer- as is proved to UberPool over, and over again.
11.01.2022 Why is this pool always low on chlorine? This owner couldnt work out why their pool was always low on chlorine and tinging on green algae most of the time. With a completely calcified salt cell like this it is impossible to produce any chlorine to sanitise the pool. Clean the cell with a diluted solution of one part hydroclauric acid to 10 parts water -- in this extreme case, far stronger solution was needed to clean this cell. Do not let a non- self-cleaning salt chlorinator cell become calcified.

08.01.2022 Suction cleaner hose always coiled; stuck in a corner all day? Reason is the suction hose has 'memory' and needs straightening otherwise will forever returned to the coiled shape like a snake. How to fix? Very easy: remove hose from water and if a continuous hose length, stretch out straight in the sun for a couple days. Even better still is rasie both ends slightly (brick will do) and fill with water. Couple hours in the sun will make straight again. If hose segments, simply pull apart, and leave in sun for a few days. Done - like new.
08.01.2022 A healthy sparkling pool means regular maintenance and really comes down to good housekeeping Some tips below will help:- * Keep skimmer basket free of leaves... * Scoop leaves from bottom of the pool once a week * Do a water test at least once a week * Ensure pH is correct - fundamental to a sparkling pool. 08.01.2022 Water flow slowing down in the pool? Low chlorine? Check your skimmer basket is not full of leaves stopping water flow through the salt cell resulting in low chlorine and/or the pump may be switched off by the chlorinator. The pump basket also needs regular cleaning to. If your chlorinator is not a self-cleaning model, remove the cell whenever excessive calcium builds up which reduces ability to generate chlorine - a green pool can result very quickly!

07.01.2022 Some are fussy and want to keep pool surrounds orderly and coil up that suction cleaner hose out of sight. Dont. Never coil a suction cleaner hose. Leave straight at all times where possible otherwise will retain coiled memory and when attaching cleaner again, will coil up and become useless doing donuts on pool bottom in one place. Run out straight along side of garden bed or side of house if want out of sight.
