Unfortunately, the Australian Government are sticking to their regulations and only allowing kava to come into the country carrying 4kg per passenger. ... Unfortunately, the letter received was classified =sec thus we cannot publish it here. The letter states that unless the kava is carried by a passenger as accompanied baggage, the importation of kava on a personal basis is prohibited. ... On a positive note, the investigation into the commercial importation of kava has begun and a decision would be made by December 2021 on who will be issued permits and how said permits would be released. 05.01.2022 Bula Everyone, We are getting at least 3 calls a day on the importation of kava from Fiji. This is currently a prohibited import. We have written to both the Fijian and Australian government to try and relax the restriction of importing kava. The current legislation allows a passenger to bring 4 kg of kava for personal use as carry on. As the borders are closed and there are no passengers flying from Fiji - we need to lobby to relax these controls during this difficult perio...d. 04.01.2022 Good morning, Everyone. There are now 97 active covid cases in isolation with the total number of cases recorded in Fiji since our first case in March 2020 now at 235. This weekend has been the toughest so far with the maximum number of COVID cases recorded exceeding 20 plus for 2 days within the Suva to Nausori corridor with another 5 cases recorded yesterday. MOH has announced the Rakiraki containment zone is now opened to the public. Saying this, all the border closures re...main in place within the containment arears including Lautoka, Nadi, Lami, Suva and Nausori. Only Essential business to operate in containment zones, while non-containment arears, can open with safety measures. Our truck was in Suva yesterday for the personal and commercial cargo deliveries with return load of cleared cargo to Lautoka. Today our truck will be transferring LCL cargo to Ba and also doing some local deliveries. Both Lautoka & Suva Sea Ports are fully operational. All of our offices remain open for business.
