23.01.2022 Hey North West, this Thursday 10 September is World Suicide Prevention Day #WSPD Every day, lives are lost to suicide, and many more are profoundly impacte...d by those deaths. The COVID-19 restrictions may have cancelled this year's walk and vigil, but you can still participate from home! Light a candle near a window at 8pm on Thursday 10 September as a symbol of support for suicide prevention and to remember lost loved ones. Denise Price, Registered Psychologist for the Tackling Regional Adversity through Continued Care (TRACC) Program, said lighting a candle is still a great way to raise awareness and start conversations around suicide prevention. "Suicide really is everybody's business, and unfortunately, the warning signs of suicide are not always obvious, so it's important that people have honest conversations with those they have noticed a change in," she said. 02.01.2022 Yesterday we celebrated the conclusion service for Rev David Baker as the Moderator of the Queensland Synod. David officially concludes his term as moderator on... 22 October 2020, at which time Rev Andrew Gunton will be inducted as the new moderator of the Queensland Synod. David will commence his new role as CEO of Queensland Churches Together in January 2021. See more
