21.01.2022 On this long weekend most of my students will take the time off from training, but I will put my dogi on and train hard!
19.01.2022 It was good to work with Callum's dojo again in Adelaide on a trip down to South Australia. Annanko bunkai was the backbone of the session enabling a review of ...probability based approaches to techniques that according to the assault statistics injure others in the street. A very enjoyable night! See more
19.01.2022 Casual Friday. JPMAA. Osu

18.01.2022 First day of class for the year and what a sweating awesome time it was. Thanks to all the students who made it and an absolute joy to train with sensei Helle Smith and her two lovely sons from Northern Beaches Shito-Ryu, Mackay Qld. Here are a few action pics and great moments. Osu!
17.01.2022 Congratulations Bud ()-"Martial Way". Stepping into a dojo is the toughest decision a student goes through. The "Why?" Is different for everyone, but the equality, treatment and training should be done the same. Yes we all learn at a different pace, but within time we all get there, so I hope. As a sensei our desire is for all students to succeed and be successful in whatever they do. We all fall, but we keep on getting up, that is the moto to our journey in life. Strong character comes from hard work and determination. Do it for yourself and not to please others as this is true character. Congratulations to all my students for grading and for your new achievements. You all preformed tremendously. Yudansha remember this is only the beginning of a wonderful journey of budo, the "Martial Way".

16.01.2022 This legend has been my sensei since I was 16 years old. He has seen me through my best and worst of times, but has never giving up on me. He promoted me to 7th dan in 2014. I bow with humbleness. Osu
15.01.2022 30 minutes training is better than no minutes, but train hard! Osu
15.01.2022 Like all my students, the following individual has gone through many changes. This student has been knocked down more times then I can count, but for some reason doesn't like to stay down. This student goes through Blood, Sweat and Tear in the dojo and keeps asking for more. What to do? This individual is ready and has been ready for some time, but the right time needs to present itself. Without further ado, Rachel senpai, it is with great pride and respect that I, along with Hanshi David and sensei Lucy's endorsement, promote you to shodan. Please wear this belt with pride and know that your journey is just beginning. Uechi-Go-Ryu is proud to present our new Yudansha Rachel DS. Congratulations. Osu

13.01.2022 Training at the dojo once a week may get you up to green belt. Training at the dojo twice a week may get you up to brown belt. Training at the dojo three times a week minimum will probably get you to black belt. Which do you want?
12.01.2022 Uechi-Go-Ryu had a strong presence today, with 3 dragonflies and 8 students from the standard class competing, and some also / or judging, officiating, assisting competitors and / or cheering on their dojo!
